  • Jazz's Lauri Markkanen: Recovered from hip injury

Markkanen (hip) amassed 23 points (7-14 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 7-8 FT), four rebounds, two assists, one steal and one block in 29 minutes during Finland's 85-77 win over Hungary on Friday. Markkanen was out for roughly the final two months of the NBA regular season with a hip injury, but he looks to be entering the new year with a clean bill of health following a FIBA appearance. The star forward was excellent when healthy last year, having averaged 26.7 points, 6.9 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1.0 steals in 34.4 minutes across 42 games in 2025-26. However, it'll be interesting to see how Darryn Peterson's presence influences Markkanen's usage moving forward.

  • Jazz's Lauri Markkanen: Jazz add around him

Utah's selection of Darryn Peterson with the No. 2 overall pick in the 2026 NBA Draft should help ease some offensive pressure on Markkanen (hip). The veteran forward has often carried a significant scoring burden during the rebuilding process, and the arrival of an elite shot creator could create more favorable opportunities. Markkanen remains the focal point of Utah's frontcourt, although trade speculation and the team's long-term direction could still influence his outlook.

  • Jazz's Lauri Markkanen: Ruled out for finale

Markkanen (hip) will not play in Sunday's season finale against the Lakers. As expected, Markkanen will sit out the final game of the season. He ended the campaign having last played Feb. 23. Despite playing just 42 games, Markkanen had what could be considered a bounceback season -- at least in the box score. In his 34.4 minutes per game, he averaged 26.7 points, 6.9 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1.0 steals.

  • Jazz's Lauri Markkanen: Won't play Friday

Markkanen (hip) has been ruled out for Friday's game against the Grizzlies. Markkanen is still recovering from a right hip impingement and hasn't played since Feb. 23. His last chance to suit up this season will come in Sunday's regular-season finale against the Lakers, though he can be considered doubtful for that contest until the Jazz offer an update on his status.

  • Jazz's Lauri Markkanen: Out another two weeks

The Jazz announced Thursday that Markkanen (hip) will be re-evaluated in two weeks, Sarah Todd of The Deseret News reports. Markkanen has dealt with both a right hip impingement and a sprained ankle since he last played Feb. 23, though the hip injury is the main concern at this juncture. Though Markkanen will be re-evaluated in early April, the Jazz will have just five games remaining once he gets examined, so there's a real chance that he won't play again in 2025-26. While Markkanen has been sidelined, the Jazz have been leaning more heavily on Cody Williams, Brice Sensabaugh (illness), Andersson Garcia and Blake Hinson to fill out minutes at forward.

  • Jazz's Lauri Markkanen: Still out with hip impingement

Markkanen is out for Thursday's game against the Bucks with a right hip impingement. The All-Star forward hasn't appeared since the Feb. 23 loss to Houston, and the Jazz haven't provided an update on his health since Feb. 26. Until he's re-evaluated, Markkanen can be labeled as week-to-week moving forward.

  • Jazz's Lauri Markkanen: To be re-evaluated in two weeks

Utah will re-evaluate Markkanen in two weeks after Thursday's MRI showed symptomatic hip impingement with associated inflammation and bone bruise, Shams Charania of ESPN reports. Markkanen suffered the injury during Wednesday's practice, and he's now set to miss at least two weeks while on the mend. John Konchar, Brice Sensabaugh and Kyle Filipowski should all see more chances to produce in Markkanen's absence.

  • Jazz's Lauri Markkanen: Listed out for Thursday

Markkanen (ankle/hip) is listed out for Thursday's game against the Pelicans. Fantasy managers likely saw this designation coming based on how Utah has handled Markkanen in the past. With Markkanen sidelined, there will be more opportunities for guys like John Konchar, Brice Sensabaugh and Kyle Filipowski.

  • Jazz's Lauri Markkanen: Deemed questionable for Thursday

Markkanen (ankle/hip) is questionable for Thursday's game against the Pelicans, Ben Anderson of KSL News Salt Lake City reports. Markkanen sprained his right ankle and sustained a right hip impingement during Wednesday's practice. He underwent an MRi shortly after, and his questionable designation likely means he avoided serious injury. Still, it wouldn't be surprising for Markannen to need a game or two off to recover.

  • Jazz's Lauri Markkanen: Good to go Monday

Markkannen (illness) is available for Monday's game against the Rockets. Markkanen will push through an illness and suit up Monday after missing the previous two contests. Across six February appearances, the power forward is averaging 22.5 points, 6.8 rebounds and 1.7 assists while shooting 47.6 percent from the field and 35.9 percent from beyond the arc.

  • Jazz's Lauri Markkanen: Likely to play Monday

Markkanen (illness) is probable for Monday's game against the Rockets. Markkanen is likely to return to action Monday after missing the last two games with an illness. Over his last five appearances, he holds averages of 21.6 points, 6.0 rebounds and 1.6 assists in 24.6 minutes per contest.

  • Jazz's Lauri Markkanen: Not playing Friday

Markkanen (illness) has been ruled out for Friday's game against the Grizzlies. Markkanen saw his injury status downgrade from questionable to doubtful, and the veteran forward will sit out of Friday's game while battling through an illness. His absence means Kyle Filipowski, John Konchar and Kevin Love are all poised for larger roles against Memphis. Markkanen's next opportunity to play is Monday against the Rockets.

  • Jazz's Lauri Markkanen: Downgraded to questionable

Markkanen (illness) is questionable for Friday's game versus Memphis. Markkanen wasn't on the initial injury report Utah released, and this downgrade is a concern for his fantasy managers. The Jazz have been super cautious with all their key players this season, and the NBA has already issued them a steep fine as a result. If Markkanen is held out, the Jazz will likely lean more on Brice Sensabaugh, Kyle Filipowski and John Konchar.

  • Jazz's Lauri Markkanen: Set to return Friday

Markkanen (rest) isn't listed on the injury report ahead of Friday's game against the Grizzlies. Markkanen took a seat for Utah's final game before the All-Star break, but he'll be back on the court for Friday's contest. He's been kept under 30 minutes in each of his last five appearances and is averaging 21.6 points, 6.0 rebounds and 1.6 assists over that stretch.

  • Jazz's Lauri Markkanen: Sitting out Thursday

Markkanen is out for Thursday's game against Portland for rest purposes. Fantasy managers can expect the star forward to return when the Jazz get back from the All-Star break, which is the Feb. 20 matchup in Memphis. Kyle Filipowski appears to be lined up for a featured role at power forward and warrants streaming consideration in all fantasy leagues Thursday.

  • Jazz's Lauri Markkanen: On minutes restriction

Markkanen will be on a minutes restriction in Wednesday's game against Sacramento, Andy Larsen of The Salt Lake Tribune reports. Markkanen was initially ruled out for Wednesday's game for rest purposes but was taken off the injury report shortly after. While he'll be available to face the Kings in the front end of this back-to-back, Markkanen won't receive a full allotment of minutes. He hasn't played more than 27 minutes in four straight games.

  • Jazz's Lauri Markkanen: Available for Wednesday

Markkanen (rest) is available for Wednesday's game against the Kings. Markkanen was initially ruled out for Wednesday's contest due to rest purposes, though he's set to suit up. It's worth noting that this matchup is the first game of a back-to-back set, so the ninth-year forward may sit out Thursday's game against Portland. Over his last four outings, Markkanen has averaged 22.3 points, 5.8 rebounds and 1.3 assists in 25.5 minutes per tilt.

  • Jazz's Lauri Markkanen: Won't suit up Wednesday

Markkanen (rest) has been ruled out for Wednesday's game against the Kings. Markkanen will sit out the front end of this back-to-back set, and his final opportunity to suit up before the All-Star break will come against Portland on Wednesday. With the ninth-year forward unavailable, Cody Williams, John Konchar and Brice Sensabaugh are candidates for increased playing time.

  • Jazz's Lauri Markkanen: Scores 17 points in win

Markkanen provided 17 points (5-14 FG, 3-8 3Pt, 4-4 FT), eight rebounds and one assist over 25 minutes during Monday's 115-111 win over the Heat. Markkanen once again did not appear for the Jazz in the fourth quarter despite this being a close game, and the same is true for Jaren Jackson and Jusuf Nurkic. This trend is troubling for Markkanen's fantasy managers, and it's something that has happened in previous seasons.

  • Jazz's Lauri Markkanen: Paces Utah in win

Markkanen posted 27 points (10-19 FG, 2-7 3Pt, 5-6 FT), three rebounds and two assists over 27 minutes during Tuesday's 131-122 victory over the Pacers. Markkanen was one of just seven Jazz players to see the court Tuesday following the team's acquisition of Jaren Jackson earlier in the day. Markkanen led all players in scoring, posting 27 points for a second consecutive contest. The ninth-year forward has appeared in four of Utah's last five games, averaging 22.8 points, 5.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists, 1.0 steals and 1.0 blocks per tilt during that stretch.
