Brown (5-7) earned the win Sunday against the White Sox, allowing one run on three hits and no walks with four strikeouts over five innings.

The only blemish on Brown's short, 57-pitch outing was an Andrew Benintendi solo shot in the opening frame. Otherwise, the 25-year-old right-hander steamrolled through the Chicago lineup with his fastball touching 97.9 mph while averaging 96.2 mph (up slightly from his season mark of 95.8 mph). Brown now owns a 6.22 ERA, 1.48 WHIP and 99:27 K:BB across 88.1 total frames. His future role with the big-league club is unknown as Jameson Taillon (calf) threw a 47-pitch bullpen session Friday and is slated for an early August return. If Brown sticks in the rotation, his next turn currently lines up to come against Baltimore at home next weekend.

Burke conceded two runs on five hits and one walk over 4.2 innings while not factoring into the decision in Sunday's 5-4 loss to the Cubs. He struck out eight.

Burke followed rookie opener Grant Taylor in the series finale. The 25-year-old righty managed to generate a solid 14 whiffs out of 91 total pitches to notch a season-high eight punchouts. Burke, who has tossed 101 innings this season, is rapidly approaching his career high in innings pitched, as his previous best came in 2022 when he fired 108 frames across three minor-league levels. Accordingly, the White Sox will likely find creative ways to manage his usage going forward. The former Maryland Terrapin will carry a 4.17 ERA, 1.41 WHIP and 93:48 K:BB into his next appearance -- whether Burke will start or follow an opener is unknown -- at the Angels next weekend.

Mize is slated to make his next start Tuesday's against the Diamondbacks in Detroit, Chris McCosky of The Detroit News reports.

Mize was originally expected to start Monday's series opener, but he'll be pushed back a day in the schedule as a precaution after minor knee soreness resulted in his between-starts throwing program being delayed a bit. The right-hander's knee isn't expected to be a concern heading into his start Tuesday, when he'll look to get back on track after allowing 10 runs over seven innings in his last two outings.

Melton will start Monday's series opener against the Diamondbacks in Detroit, Chris McCosky of The Detroit News reports.

Melton had been lined up to make his second career start Tuesday, but he'll end up being pushed up a day after Casey Mize needed a little extra time to recover from a minor knee issue. Despite surrendered six earned runs on seven hits and two walks over five frames in his major-league debut against the Pirates last Wednesday, Melton looks set to maintain a spot in the rotation over Keider Montero, who was optioned to Triple-A Toledo earlier in the weekend.

McGreevy (2-2) suffered the loss Sunday against the Padres, allowing seven runs on nine hits and two walks over 4.2 innings with two strikeouts.

After some shaky defense behind him in a first inning that saw two San Diego runs score on two hits, a walk and an error, McGreevy was never able to fully right the ship in this contest. The St. Louis right-hander wound up conceding a career-worst nine base knocks (three doubles and six singles) in this 99-pitch outing. Across 33 total frames, he now sports a 4.91 ERA, 3.27 FIP, 1.21 WHIP and 19:5 K:BB. The 25-year-old is currently slated to face the Padres again in his next start on the road next weekend.

Kolek (4-5) allowed two runs on four hits and three walks over six innings to pick up the win Sunday at St. Louis. He struck out two.

The San Diego righty limited the Cardinals offense to just one extra-base hit -- an Alec Burleson two-run homer in the sixth -- as he looked sharp in this 98-pitch appearance. This marks the fourth quality start of the season for Kolek, who should remain in the rotation for another turn given this performance. He'll carry a 4.18 ERA, 1.31 WHIP and 56:26 K:BB across 79.2 frames into a rematch with the Cardinals at home next weekend.

Ober (hip) is likely to return from the 15-day injured list to make his next start with the Twins sometime this week, Aaron Gleeman of The Athletic reports.

The right-hander made his second rehab start with Triple-A St. Paul on Friday and allowed one run across five innings while building up to 65 pitches, setting him up to rejoin Minnesota's rotation. Ober has been sidelined nearly a month due to a hip impingement and could have some minor workload limitations in his first outing back in the majors. The 30-year-old struggled in his last five starts before landing on the shelf with a 9.00 ERA and 14 home runs allowed over 30 innings.

The Royals placed Bubic (shoulder) on the 15-day injured list Sunday after he was diagnosed with a left rotator cuff strain.

Bubic complained of shoulder stiffness after Saturday's start, and the Royals quickly determined that he was dealing with an injury to his rotator cuff. According to Anne Rogers of MLB.com, manager Matt Quatraro said that Bubic will undergo further testing, but the left-hander is a good bet to miss more than the minimum 15 days. The loss of Bubic -- who earned his first All-Star nod after compiling a 2.55 ERA and 1.18 WHIP with 116 strikeouts in 116.1 innings over his first 20 starts this season -- is a devastating blow to a Kansas City rotation that has been missing Cole Ragans (shoulder) since early June.

Miller is transitioning to a relief role with Triple-A Oklahoma City, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.

It seems like forever ago that Miller was among the most promising young starters in the game, but after an impressive 2023 rookie campaign with the Dodgers he lost his major-league role in 2024 and has given up seven earned runs over just five frames across two appearances with the big club this season. Miller also hasn't been very good with OKC this year, posting a 5.58 ERA, 1.64 WHIP and 57:49 K:BB over 69.1 innings spanning 16 outings (14 starts). Converting Miller to a relief role could provide Los Angeles with a high-leverage option late in the campaign if he does well.

Bubic said after Saturday's 6-4 loss to the Guardians that "physically something's not right," adding that he's been pitching through shoulder stiffness "for a good portion of the season," Anne Rogers of MLB.com reports.

The left-hander's fastball has averaged 92.1 miles per hour this season, but he sat at 90.2 mph during his start Saturday while tying a season high with four walks over just 2.2 innings. Bubic will likely be evaluated throughout the week, and his availability for his next turn through the rotation -- which tentatively lines up for next weekend in Toronto -- is firmly up in the air. Regardless of whether he's available for his next start, the injury is worth monitoring since Bubic's workload this season (116.1 inning) is already approaching his career high of 130 innings from 2021.
