Sears' start has been pushed to Sunday vs. the Rangers, Matt Kawahara of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

James Kaprielian, who was just recalled from Triple-A, will slot into Mason Miller's (elbow) spot in the rotation Saturday, pushing everyone else back a day. Sears will matchup against Andrew Heaney on Sunday.

Kaprielian will start Saturday's game against the Rangers, Matt Kawahara of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

The team will push its other five starters back a day and stick with a six-man rotation despite Mason Miller (elbow) landing on the shelf. Kaprielian was just recalled from Triple-A, where he made two strong starts after struggling to a 12.94 ERA in 16 MLB innings prior to getting demoted.

Kaprielian was recalled from Triple-A Las Vegas on Saturday, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports.

Kaprielian, who was demoted to Triple-A in late-April, gave up one earned run on seven hits and two walks while striking out seven across 8.1 innings in two starts at Triple-A. He would be an option to work in long relief this weekend, as he last pitched May 7, but it's also possible the A's go to a six-man rotation and slot Kaprielian in sometime in the coming days.

France (1-0) allowed one run on three hits and a walk over 6.2 innings Friday, striking out three and earning a win over the White Sox.

France cruised to a win Friday and didn't face much danger in his second career start. The only blemish on his stat line came from Luis Robert's solo shot in the second inning. France has given up just one run through 11.2 frames in his first two MLB starts. As of now, his third career start is projected to be at home against the Cubs next week.

Kopech (1-4) allowed two runs on one hit and six walks over 4.2 innings Friday, striking out five and taking a loss against Houston.

Kopech worked through three shutout frames before the Astros got on the board in the fourth. The 27-year-old righty failed to complete five innings for the first time since his season debut April 3. His command has been shaky all year, but Friday's outing set a new season high with six walks. For the year, Kopech is sporting a 41:28 K:BB and 5.74 ERA through 42.1 innings. He's currently scheduled to face the Guardians at home next week.

Cole didn't factor into the decision in Friday's 6-5 win over the Rays, giving up two runs on five hits and two walks over five innings while striking out four.

The right-hander will be glad to see the last of Tampa Bay's hitters for a while -- after serving up zero homers in his first seven starts of 2023, Cole got taken deep four times over back-to-back outings against the Rays, including a pair of solo shots in this one. He remains undefeated on the year at 5-0, and he'll take a 2.22 ERA, 1.04 WHIP and 62:18 K:BB through 56.2 innings into his next start, likely to come next week in Toronto.

Bradish did not factor into the decision Friday, allowing one unearned run on three hits and one walk over six innings in a 6-3 win over Pittsburgh. He struck out six.

Bradish tied his season high with six strikeouts, and the lone run on his ledger came via a throwing error by Jorge Mateo. The right-hander's 4.56 ERA remains inflated due to a poor outing versus Boston, but other than that, he's been solid through six appearances this season. He'll look to make it back-to-back quality starts his next time out, likely against the Angels.

Boyd (2-3) took the loss Friday, allowing six runs on five hits and four walks over 1.1 innings during a 9-2 loss to the Mariners. He struck out one.

Boyd couldn't find any rhythm Friday and was pulled after just 55 pitches with Seattle already up 6-0 in the second inning. The poor outing elevated the left-hander's ERA to 6.47 through seven starts (32 innings) and snapped his four-game streak of completing at least five innings. Boyd will look to get back on track next time out, which is tentatively scheduled to come during a three-game weekend set in Washington.

Gonzales (3-0) earned the win Friday, allowing two runs on five hits and one walk over six innings during a 9-2 win over Detroit. He struck out two.

Gonzales got plenty of early run support and cruised through four scoreless frames before surrendering a two-run home run to Jake Rogers in the fifth. The long ball was the lone blemish on the night for the left-hander, who notched his second straight quality start and third of the season. He has allowed a homer in four of his first seven appearances this year and sports a 4.41 ERA, 1.39 WHIP and 25:12 K:BB through 36.2 innings. While the numbers don't jump off the page, Gonzales continues to be a steady piece of Seattle's rotation to start the campaign and has gotten the job done more often than not.

Waldichuk did not factor into the decision Friday, allowing four runs (three earned) on seven hits and five walks over five innings against the Rangers. He struck out five.

Waldichuk registered a 1:1 K:BB for the second straight start, and he's pitched six innings just once this year. The southpaw also sports a sky-high 7.02 ERA, which is not up to par for fantasy. The 25-year-old is still getting his feet wet in the majors, but managers are going to have to wait for him to develop before he can be trusted as a reliable option.
