Joc Pederson DH | TEX
Cubs' Joc Pederson: Plates lone run Wednesday
Pederson went 3-for-5 with an RBI double in Wednesday's 2-1 extra-inning loss to Cleveland.
Pederson hit an RBI double in the fifth inning, but that was the extent of the Cubs' run-scoring offense Wednesday. The 29-year-old Pederson has been on a tear lately, going 12-for-25 (.480) with five RBI and three runs scored in his last six games. The surge has lifted his season slash line to .244/.337/.321 with one home run, nine RBI and eight runs scored in 92 plate appearances.

Ji-Man Choi 1B | NYM
Rays' Ji-Man Choi: Activation delayed
Rays manager Kevin Cash said that Choi wasn't activated from the 10-day injured list Wednesday after experiencing a "little bit" of renewed soreness in his surgically repaired right knee, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
Choi was lifted from his rehab assignment at Triple-A Durham to receive a re-evaluation and further treatment in Tampa Bay, but Cash noted that the 29-year-old isn't believed to be dealing with any sort of setback. That said, the next steps for Choi remain unclear, as the Rays will likely wait and see how he responds to treatment before determining whether he'll be an option during the team's upcoming series with the Mets this weekend.

Harold Ramirez DH | WAS
Indians' Harold Ramirez: On bench Wednesday

Marcell Ozuna DH | PIT
Braves' Marcell Ozuna: Goes long in loss
Ozuna went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Tuesday's 5-3 loss to the Blue Jays.
Ozuna had a rough outing at the plate Tuesday night with three strikeouts but his bat did come alive in the sixth when he momentarily gave the Braves the lead with a solo home run to left. The 30-year-old has still not really figured out his swing so far, as he's slashing .203/.276/.333 with five home runs, 21 RBI and 13 runs scored to go along with a 13:36 BB:K. He has been making better contact lately but it's still been a majorly disappointing start to the year after an incredible offensive showing during the abbreviated 2020 campaign.

He took Erick Fedde deep in the first inning, Harper's first long ball since April 25. The 28-year-old slugger is off to a fantastic start to the season, slashing .293/.426/.566 through 28 games with seven homers, three steals, 11 RBI and 23 runs.

Jesse Winker DH | NYM
Reds' Jesse Winker: Carries offense in loss
Winker went 3-for-4 with two doubles, a home run and two RBI in Tuesday's 7-2 loss to the Pirates.
The rest of the Reds lineup only managed five singles. It's Winker's sixth multi-hit performance in the last 12 games, and on the season the 27-year-old is hitting a dynamic .374 with seven homers, 19 RBI and 24 runs in 27 contests.

Jorge Soler DH | LAA
Royals' Jorge Soler: Homers, drives in six
Soler went 2-for-5 with a three-run home run, a double and six RBI during Tuesday's loss to the Royals.
Down 7-0 in the eighth inning, Soler put the Royals on the board with a three-run shot against Kyle Funkhouser. The 29-year-old added the exclamation point of the game with a three-run double in the ninth, knotting up the score at 7-7. It was the the third long ball and 11th double of the season for Soler, who has struggled to replicate the 48-homer campaign he pieced together in 2019. Across 34 games this year, he's batting .200/.280/.374.

Shohei Ohtani DH | LAD
Angels' Shohei Ohtani: Fans 10 in no-decision
Ohtani allowed one earned run on four hits and a walk while striking out 10 across seven innings in Tuesday's loss to the Astros. He did not factor into the decision. At the plate, he went 1-for-4.
Ohtani did everything he could to keep the Angels in the game Tuesday. His only earned run came on a fifth-inning home run by Kyle Tucker. The two-way player has struggled with his control this season, walking 19 batters through his first four starts. However, he didn't show any signs of that against the Astros, walking only one batter and reaching double-digit strikeouts for the first time this season. In addition, he batted second and hit a single in the seventh inning. If that wasn't enough, after he was relieved in the eighth inning, he stayed in the game in right field.

Giants' Brandon Belt: Tuesday exit precautionary
Belt, who was dealing with "mild" left side tightness, exited Tuesday's game as a precaution, Maria I. Guardado of MLB.com reports.
The veteran first baseman appears to have avoided a serious injury. He should be considered day-to-day going forward.
