Jorge Soler DH | LAA
Marlins' Jorge Soler: Cleared for all baseball activities
Soler (back) has been cleared for full baseball activities, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.
Soler has been hitting for several weeks, and he has now advanced to the point in his recovery where he can also run and throw. If all goes well in the days ahead, it might not be long before Soler is ready to head out on a rehab assignment.

Andrew McCutchen DH | TEX
Brewers' Andrew McCutchen: Opening on bench again
McCutchen is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Rockies.
McCutchen has spent most of the season as a regular, but the veteran has been a part-time player of late, as he will open on the bench Tuesday for the fifth time in 10 games. He will likely be in the lineup whenever a lefty starts for the opponent, but as things stand he is not a lock to play every day.

Shohei Ohtani DH | LAD
Angels' Shohei Ohtani: Crushes pair of homers
Ohtani went 3-for-5 with two home runs, a double, three RBI and three runs scored in Monday's 10-0 win over the Tigers.
Ohtani led the charge on offense, homering in the third and seventh innings. He's been impressive lately, going 12-for-29 (.414) with five homers, 10 RBI, eight runs scored and two doubles through his last seven contests. The power surge has him up to 32 long balls and 85 RBI while maintaining a .270/.360/.537 slash line with 78 runs scored and 11 stolen bases through 555 plate appearances.

Joc Pederson DH | TEX
Giants' Joc Pederson: Out against lefty
Pederson is not in Monday's lineup against the Dodgers, Kirsten Watson of SportsNet LA reports.
With lefty Andrew Heaney pitching for the Dodgers, Pederson will head to the bench in favor of Thairo Estrada in left field. The Dodgers are also starting lefties Tuesday (Tyler Anderson) and Wednesday (Clayton Kershaw), so Pederson may not get many at-bats in this series.
-
Justin Turner DH | CHC
Dodgers' Justin Turner: Sitting amid 14-game hit streak
Turner is not in Monday's lineup against the Giants, Kirsten Watson of SportsNet LA reports.
Turner is in the midst of a 14-game hitting streak dating back to Aug. 19, hitting .442/.492/.712 with two home runs and two steals in 52 at-bats over that stretch. Miguel Vargas is in the lineup at designated hitter.
-
Mike Ford DH | MIN
Angels' Mike Ford: Absent from Monday's lineup
Ford isn't starting Monday against the Tigers, Ian Browne of MLB.com reports.
Ford will get a breather after he went 1-for-12 with a run, three walks and five strikeouts over the last four games. Matt Duffy is starting at first base and batting sixth.

Giancarlo Stanton DH | NYY
Yankees' Giancarlo Stanton: Exits with injury
Stanton was removed from Monday's game against the Twins in the bottom of the eighth inning due to a foot/ankle injury, Lindsey Adler of The Athletic reports.
Stanton fouled a ball off the top of his foot/ankle in the bottom of the sixth inning and initially remained in the game, but he was replaced by a pinch hitter in the bottom of the eighth. He underwent X-rays that came back negative, so he should tentatively be considered day-to-day.

Jesse Winker DH | NYM
Mariners' Jesse Winker: Takes seat Monday
Winker isn't starting Monday against the White Sox.
Although right-hander Lance Lynn is starting for the White Sox on Monday, Winker is resting after going 0-for-19 with a run, five walks and seven strikeouts over his last six games. Taylor Trammell will start in left field and bat sixth.

J.D. Martinez DH | NYM
Red Sox's J.D. Martinez: Sitting for second straight day
Martinez is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Red Sox.
Red Sox manager Alex Cora provided no indication that Martinez's absence from the lineup in Sunday's 5-2 win against the Rangers was injury-related, but the fact that the 35-year-old is now on the bench for a second day in a row suggests that a physical issue could be in play. An explanation behind Martinez's back-to-back days off could come later Monday, but Tommy Pham will get another turn as Boston's designated hitter in his stead in any event.

Ji-Man Choi 1B | NYM
Rays' Ji-Man Choi: Loses hold of platoon role
Choi is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Red Sox, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
The lefty-hitting Choi is sitting against a right-handed starting pitcher (Michael Wacha) for the third time in five matchups, signaling that he no longer has a hold on a strong-side platoon role. Harold Ramirez and Isaac Paredes should continue to cut into his opportunities to face right-handed pitching while Choi is holding down a lowly .391 OPS since the All-Star break.
