George Springer DH | TOR
Blue Jays' George Springer: Reaches 30 homers
Springer went 2-for-3 with a walk and a solo home run in Friday's loss to the Royals.
The veteran outfielder led off the game with his 30th homer of the year, but it was the only bright spot for the Blue Jays in an ugly 20-1 rout. It's the first time Springer has reached the 30-HR plateau since 2019, and his 101 runs on the season represent the first time he's hit triple digits in that category since 2018. He's finishing out the 2025 regular season on a high note, slashing .328/.416/.642 over 17 games in September with six home runs, 11 RBI and 17 runs.

Marcell Ozuna DH | ATL
Braves' Marcell Ozuna: Resting Saturday
Ozuna isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against Detroit.
Ozuna will retreat to the dugout Saturday after going 0-for-4 with a strikeout in Friday's series opener. Drake Baldwin will replace him as Atlanta's designated hitter, allowing Sandy Leon to start at catcher.

Yandy Diaz DH | TB
Rays' Yandy Diaz: Goes deep in loss
Diaz went 3-for-4 with a walk, a solo home run and an additional run scored in Friday's 11-7 loss to the Red Sox.
Diaz was strong in a losing effort, reaching base four times for the second time in three days and giving the Rays an early lead with a solo homer in the third inning. The 34-year-old has stayed red hot in September, batting .429 with seven extra-base hits, eight RBI, 13 runs scored and a 12:8 BB:K through 17 games. On the season, he's slashing .300/.365/.488 with 25 home runs, 82 RBI, 76 runs scored and three steals across a career-high 631 plate appearances.

Shohei Ohtani DH | LAD
Dodgers' Shohei Ohtani: Blasts go-ahead homer
Ohtani went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run in Friday's 6-3 win over the Giants.
Ohtani has turned up the power again with four homers during his seven-game hitting streak. His blast Friday gave the Dodgers their first lead of the contest. He's up to 52 long balls this year, one behind Kyle Schwarber for the National League lead. Ohtani is batting .283 with a 1.013 OPS, 98 RBI, 139 runs scored and 19 stolen bases across 151 contests, though he's been even better by hitting .338 and slugging .769 over 17 games in September.

Carter Jensen C | KC
Royals' Carter Jensen: Rips three doubles in rout
Jensen went 3-for-7 with three doubles, two RBI and two runs scored in Friday's 20-1 victory over Toronto.
The Kansas City rookie batted leadoff and collected the second three-hit performance of his nascent career, doubling twice off Blue Jays starter Max Scherzer in the first. Jensen is off to a roaring start, slashing .344/.447/.688 with two homers, five doubles, seven runs scored and nine RBI in 38 plate appearances across 12 games. The 22-year-old has been garnering plenty of playing time while he splits catching and designated hitter duties with veteran backstop Salvador Perez.

Colt Keith DH | DET
Tigers' Colt Keith: Hitting IL
The Tigers placed Keith on the 10-day injured list Friday due to right rib cage inflammation.
Keith underwent an MRI after exiting Thursday's game against the Guardians with a back injury, and while the evaluation didn't reveal any structural damage, Keith will require a stint on the injured list. The move will end Keith's regular season, but he'll have a chance at returning in the playoffs.

Yordan Alvarez DH | HOU
Astros' Yordan Alvarez: Moved to injured list
The Astros placed Alvarez (ankle) on the 10-day injured list Friday, retroactive to Sept. 16, Chandler Rome of The Athletic reports.
Alvarez suffered a significant left ankle sprain earlier this week, and he'll officially be placed on the injured list Friday. The move opens up a spot on the active roster for Isaac Paredes (hamstring), who's coming off the IL. Alvarez will be eligible to return Sept. 26, which coincides with the start of Houston's final regular-season series. It's unclear if he'll be healthy enough to play before the end of the regular season, but manager Joe Espada said on MLB Network Radio on SiriusXM on Friday that Alvarez's ankle is "getting better."

Carter Jensen C | KC
Royals' Carter Jensen: Elevated to leadoff spot
Jensen will start in the designated hitter spot and bat leadoff Friday against the Blue Jays.
It's the sixth straight start for Jensen and the first time he's batted higher than eighth. Regular leadoff man Mike Yastrzemski is getting a day off, so Jensen's presence at the top of the batting order could be short-lived. However, the rookie appears to have carved out a regular role versus right-handed pitching. Jensen is slashing .320/.452/.640 with two home runs and a 6:7 BB:K over his first 11 major-league contests.

Trevor Larnach DH | MIN
Twins' Trevor Larnach: Idle against southpaw
Larnach is out of the lineup for Friday's game against the Guardians.
Larnach will take a seat Friday against left-hander Parker Messick. In his place, Carson McCusker will DH while Austin Martin, Byron Buxton and James Outman fill the outfield from left to right.
