Sanchez is not in Saturday's lineup against the Indians.

He has seven hits -- including two home runs -- and six RBI over his last four games. Austin Romine will start behind the dish, hitting eighth.

McCann went 3-for-4 with a grand slam and a double in Friday's 7-2 win over the Angels.

McCann kept his hot hitting going with a bases-loaded blast off Angels reliever Ty Buttrey. It's his second grand slam in three days and the fifth of his career. McCann's hitting .383 (18-for 47) with two homers, 14 RBI and nine runs scored in 13 games in August. Overall, he's hitting .293/.345/.482 with 14 homers and 50 runs scored, all of which are career bests for the catcher. McCann also has 47 RBI, just two shy of matching his career high from 2017.

Stassi is not in the lineup for Friday's game versus the White Sox.

Stassi started four of the last five contests but will take a seat after going 1-for-13 in that stretch. Anthony Bemboom will start behind the plate and bat ninth Friday.

Nola went 3-for-5 with an RBI single in a win over the Tigers on Thursday, snapping a 4-for-31 skid.

Nola had put a fitting cap on a highly successful July at the plate with back-to-back three-hit efforts, but he promptly stumbled out of the gate in August. The versatile rookie went 1-for-20 over the first six games of the month, but he's now 6-for-16 in the subsequent four contests. Thursday's multi-hit effort vaulted Nola's average back up over the .300 mark while also pushing his on-base percentage to an impressive .350.

Narvaez went 2-for-3 with an RBI single, a double, two walks and a run in a win over the Tigers on Thursday.

Narvaez had been mired in an atypical 3-for-20 skid to open August prior to Thursday, so his breakout effort was a particularly welcome sight. It's been a banner season overall for the 27-year-old, who's set or currently boasts personal bests in home runs (17), RBI (43), batting average (.291) and slugging percentage (.473).

Sanchez went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in a 19-5 loss to the Indians on Thursday.

Sanchez provided one of the few highlights in an otherwise miserable game for New York, crushing a 441-foot home run to center field in the sixth inning. The blast was his second in as many days and third overall since returning from the injured list Aug. 10. In that span, the 26-year-old has complemented the trio of long balls with a .318/.400/.773 slash line and six RBI in six games.

Garver is not in the lineup Thursday against the Rangers.

Garver will give way to Jason Castro behind the dish for Thursday's series opener following a string of four consecutive starts. The 28-year-old Garver is hitting just .161 through eight games this month, though he has two doubles and three home runs during that stretch.

D'Arnaud went 2-for-4 in a loss to the Padres on Wednesday, snapping an 0-for-20 skid.

The previously red-hot veteran has endured a rough August overall, generating just six singles over 41 plate appearances after racking up 12 extra-base hits (four doubles, eight home runs) during July. Wednesday's multi-hit effort was d'Arnaud's first since July 31, when he posted a fourth consecutive two-hit tally in the middle game of a series against the Red Sox.

Rogers is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Mariners.

Rogers is just getting some maintenance for the afternoon contest after logging all nine innings behind the dish and going 0-for-3 with a walk in Wednesday's 3-2 win. Backup John Hicks will handle catching duties in the series finale.

Nola will start at first base and bat fifth Thursday against the Tigers, Greg Johns of MLB.com reports.

Dee Gordon's recent return from the 10-day injured list has resulted in Nola surrendering his everyday role at second base, but the latter's versatility has allowed him to maintain a regular lineup spot while shifting around the infield and outfield. Nola may not necessarily have much leash as a full-time player in light of his recent slump, however. Through nine starts in August, Nola has gone 4-for-31 and has reached base at a .182 clip.
