Murphy isn't in the lineup Saturday against the Giants.

After catching in the Athletics' 10-inning win Friday, he'll get a breather for the second game of the series. Austin Allen will start behind the plate and bat ninth.

Jansen isn't in the lineup against the Rays on Saturday.

Jansen went hitless with one run and one walk in Friday's series opener against Tampa Bay, and he'll take a seat Saturday. Reese McGuire will take over behind the plate, batting eighth.

Moreno was added to the Blue Jays 60-man player pool Saturday morning and should be on his way to the team's alternate training site in Rochester, Mike Wilner of Sportsnet 590 The Fan reports.

At just 20, Moreno is already being described as a "complete package," providing valuable tools defensively and with his bat. The Blue Jays don't figure to have any immediate plans for the young prospect, as he should be spending his time partaking in intrasquad games at the club's alternate training site moving forward.

Sanchez went 1-for-5 with a two-run homer and one strikeout in Friday's win over the Red Sox.

Although the Yankees put up 10 runs in Friday's contest, Sanchez provided the team's only home run with a two-run shot in the fifth inning. That was his only hit of the day as he left five runners stranded during his other four at-bats. The catcher has now homered in back-to-back games but is still slashing just .113/.203/.302 over the first 16 games this year.

Garver isn't in the lineup for Game 1 of Saturday's doubleheader against the Royals.

Garver went 3-for-6 with two runs in the series finale against the Brewers on Wednesday, but he'll get a breather for the first portion of Saturday's twin bill. Alex Avila will start behind the dish, batting ninth.

Trevino was recalled by the Rangers on Friday.

Trevino appeared in a pair of games for the Rangers early in the season before being optioned to the team's secondary site. He'll be needed as the backup backstop with Robinson Chirinos out with a sprained ankle. Jeff Mathis is expected to receive the majority of the starts behind the plate until Chirinos returns.

Plawecki went 2-for-5 with a double and three RBI in Thursday's loss to the Rays.

Plawecki was one the few bright spots for the Red Sox on Thursday, with the majority of his production coming on a two-RBI double in the first inning. He also added an RBI knock in the final frame. Plawecki has worked as Christian Vazquez's backup behind the dish, but is hitting .474/.524/.579 across 21 plate appearances this season.

Perez is projected to start seeing a greater share of the at-bats in his timeshare with fellow backstop Mike Zunino, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports. "Mikey (Perez) has done a good job, he's gotten some big hits for us," manager Kevin Cash said. "We want to keep some level of consistency for both of them.''

Perez's .176/.250/.176 line is almost as poor as Zunino's .088/.225/.206 slash, as the Rays are simply getting minimal offensive production from the catcher position no matter who they turn to. However, Perez has actually delivered four RBI on just three hits, and his solid play behind the plate has earned him two starts in the last three games.

Vazquez is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Rays, Pete Abraham of The Boston Globe reports.

Vazquez will get a break after working behind the plate and going 1-for-8 with a double between Red Sox losses Tuesday and Wednesday. Kevin Plawecki will fill in as Boston's catcher, working in a battery with rookie Kyle Hart.

Nola went 2-for-5 with a double and a solo home run in a loss to the Rangers on Wednesday.

Nola continues to generate surprising offensive numbers out of the catcher spot for manager Scott Servais, as Wednesday's production brought his season slash to an impressive .292/.346/.563 across 52 plate appearances. Nola now has a quartet of two-hit efforts in his last six games, a stretch during which he's laced six extra-base hits (four doubles, two home runs) and knocked in eight runs.
