Adley Rutschman C | BAL
Orioles' Adley Rutschman: Makes splash in return
Rutschman (ankle) went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run in Tuesday's 6-5 loss to the Royals.
Rutschman made his presence felt in his return from the 10-day injured list, launching homer No. 1 on the season. The switch-hitting catcher is off to an impressive start at the dish following a disappointing 2025, when he posted a career-worst .673 OPS across 90 games. Over 43 plate appearances so far in 2026, Rutschman is slashing .316/.395/.553 with seven extra-base hits, five RBI, five walks and four runs scored.

Tyler Heineman C | TOR
Blue Jays' Tyler Heineman: On bench Tuesday
Heineman isn't in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Angels.
Heineman has been struggling at the plate as of late, going just 1-for-12 with an RBI and a run over his last five games. He'll get a breather Tuesday; meanwhile, Brandon Valenzuela will start at catcher and bat ninth.

Connor Wong C | BOS
Red Sox's Connor Wong: On bench again Tuesday
Wong is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Yankees, Tim Healey of The Boston Globe reports.
It's the third straight game on the bench for Wong after he started the previous three contests. The 29-year-old's .885 OPS in 27 plate appearances this year is far superior to Carlos Narvaez's .542 mark, though Narvaez now appears to have the upper hand for playing time again after a strong couple games at the plate.

Carlos Narvaez C | BOS
Red Sox's Carlos Narvaez: Starting third straight
Narvaez is starting behind the plate and batting ninth Tuesday against the Yankees, Tim Healey of The Boston Globe reports.
After recently finding himself on the bench for three straight contests, Narvaez returned to the starting nine the past two days and went 3-for-6 with a walk, two doubles and a stolen base to earn a third consecutive start Tuesday. Connor Wong has still been much better offensively with an .885 OPS in 27 plate appearances, but it appears Narvaez has reasserted his position for the starting job.

Bo Naylor C | CLE
Guardians' Bo Naylor: Getting breather
Naylor is absent from the lineup for Tuesday's contest against the Astros.
It's a routine breather for Naylor, who started at catcher in the first game of the series Monday. Austin Hedges will do the catching and bat eighth Tuesday.

Sam Huff C | BAL
Orioles' Sam Huff: DFA'd by Baltimore
The Orioles designated Huff for assignment Tuesday.
The 27-year-old was added to the big-league roster last week as catching depth but has been DFA'd with Adley Rutschman (ankle) returning from the injured list. Huff played in three games during his brief time in the majors and went 2-for-9 with a double, an RBI and a run.

Cal Raleigh C | SEA
Mariners' Cal Raleigh: Homers Monday
Raleigh went 1-for-5 with a solo home run in Monday's 6-4 loss to the A's.
Raleigh opened the scoring in the first inning with an opposite-field blast off J.T. Ginn, his third homer of the year and first in nine games. While Monday's long ball is promising, Raleigh's been stuck in an extended slump to open the season following his breakout 2025 campaign. He's slashing just .161/.248/.290 with a 30.5 percent strikeout rate through 24 games this year.

Adley Rutschman C | BAL
Orioles' Adley Rutschman: Activated from injured list
The Orioles activated Rutschman (ankle) from the 10-day injured list Tuesday.
Rutschman required just the minimum 10-day absence with left ankle inflammation. He skipped a rehab assignment and will go directly back onto the active roster. Rutschman will serve as the Orioles' primary catcher, which means Samuel Basallo will go back to seeing most of his reps at designated hitter.

Carlos Narvaez C | BOS
Red Sox's Carlos Narvaez: Sparks offense in win
Narvaez went 2-for-3 with a walk, a double, an RBI, a stolen base and a run scored in Monday's 8-6 win over the Tigers.
Narvaez provided a spark in the sixth inning, when he doubled, stole third base and scored a game-tying run. Detroit reliever Brant Hurter wasn't holding Narvaez on, and the slow-footed catcher took advantage, swiping the second bag of his career. The Red Sox went on to score five runs over the next two innings and held on for the win. Narvaez, who made a second straight start following a three-game stretch on the bench, is battling to maintain his spot as the team's primary catcher. Prior to his three-game stay in the dugout, Narvaez was batting just .195, and Connor Wong (.333) was threatening to move up the depth chart.
