Newman (undisclosed) isn't starting Thursday against the Mets.

Newman exited Wednesday's win over Cincinnati due to an apparent injury, and he'll be out of the lineup a day later. It's not yet clear whether his absence is due to his injury or if he'll be available off the bench, but Rodolfo Castro will start at the keystone and bat third.

Maton isn't starting Thursday against Miami.

Maton started the last four games and went 2-for-10 with two homers, four RBI, three walks and three strikeouts. He'll get a breather while Matt Vierling starts in right field and bats eighth.

Arenado went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Wednesday's 4-1 victory versus Milwaukee.

Arenado put St. Louis on the board in the second inning with a solo shot off Corbin Burnes. The long ball was his first in 11 contests in September and marked his third straight game with at least one RBI. Arenado is one homer away from his seventh straight season with 30-plus homers (not counting the severely shortened 2020 campaign).

Hayes went 3-for-5 with a double, an RBI and a run scored Wednesday against the Reds.

Hayes drove in a run in the seventh inning and followed that up with a double and run scored in the final frame. He is riding a very modest four-game hitting streak, picking up three extra-base knocks -- including a home run -- in that span. He has struggled to consistently hit for power this season, as he has only seven home runs, 21 doubles and three triples -- good for a .353 slugging percentage -- across 495 plate appearances on the campaign.

Castro went 2-for-5 with a home run, four RBI, two runs scored and a stolen base Wednesday against the Reds.

Castro took Nick Lodolo yard for a three-run home run in the third inning -- his ninth long ball of the season. He also added an RBI single in the ninth frame and chipped in his fifth stolen base. Castro's riding a seven-game hitting streak, during which he's hit .267 with three homers, eight RBI and five runs scored. Since being recalled to Pittsburgh Aug. 9, Castro has a solid .263/.320/.534 line in 118 at-bats.

Farmer went 2-for-4 with a solo home run Wednesday against the Pirates.

Farmer took Miguel Yajure yard in the eighth inning to record his 11th homer of the season. Farmer has three home runs across his last 10 games, also picking up seven RBI and and five runs scored in that span. He has now driven in 66 runs on the campaign, a new career high.

Ramirez went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run in Wednesday's 5-3 win over the Angels.

Ramirez snapped a 15-game homer drought with his eighth-inning blast, which ended up being the winning hit. The third baseman has struggled a bit in September, going 12-for-47 (.255) with three extra-base hits and only five RBI. For the year, Ramirez has sustained a .282/.356/.531 slash line with 27 homers, 111 RBI, 79 runs scored and 15 stolen bases through 137 games.

Suarez went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Wednesday's 6-1 win over the Padres.

Suarez took Mike Clevinger deep for a two-run shot in the bottom of the first inning, expanding the Mariners' lead to 3-0. The long ball was his 31st of the season and he's now launched six homers over his last six games. Since Aug. 30, Suarez has produced a .315 average with seven home runs, 12 RBI and nine runs scored over 54 at-bats in 14 contests.

Henderson went 2-for-4 with a double, a triple, four RBI and one run scored in Wednesday's win over the Nationals.

For the second night in a row, Henderson recorded two hits, including his first career triple. The three-bagger down the left field line in the seventh inning scored two runners, and a throwing error by the left fielder allowed Henderson to come around and score himself. He also doubled in a run in the eighth inning to go along with an RBI groundout earlier in the game. In 14 games since being called up, Henderson is slashing .320/.370/.520. While he should not be expected to perform at this level for a full season, his slash line is similar to the .288/.390/.504 slash line he maintained in 295 plate appearances at Triple-A this year, giving credence to his strong performance thus far.

Groshans went 3-for-3 in Wednesday's 6-1 loss against the Phillies.

After going hitless in three at-bats in his career debut Tuesday, Groshans turned things around with a three-hit effort Wednesday. The rookie peppered his hits across the outfield, which is in line with his approach in Triple-A this season where he hit more balls the other way than he did to the pull side. The balanced approach likely contributed to his .301 average over his last 133 plate appearances in the minors and may make him a sneaky source of batting average down the stretch if he sees regular playing time.
