Elehuris Montero 1B | COL
Rockies' Elehuris Montero: First extra-base hit
Montero went 1-for-4 with a double Thursday against the Marlins.
Montero picked up his first start since being recalled June 21, playing first base and hitting eighth. He led off the sixth inning with a double -- the first extra-base hit of his big-league career -- but was ultimately stranded there. Montero appears to be stuck occupying a small-side platoon role, as all four of his starts this season have come with a southpaw on the mound.

Yuli Gurriel DH | SD
Astros' Yuli Gurriel: Snaps hitless streak
Gurriel went 1-for-4 with a double Thursday against the Yankees.
Gurriel entered the game having gone hitless in his last four games and 14 at-bats. However, he snapped that stretch with a leadoff double in the eighth inning before being stranded. Gurriel is striking out only 14 percent of the time across 250 plate appearances this season, but he's still been able to muster just a .216/.268/.366 slash line.

Freddie Freeman 1B | LAD
Dodgers' Freddie Freeman: Stays hot
Freeman went 2-for-5 with a home run, three RBI and two runs scored Thursday against the Reds.
Freeman took Hunter Greene deep in the third inning for a two-run home run. He added an RBI-single five frames later to account for his production. Freeman is in the midst of a seven-game hitting streak, during which he's chipped in three home runs, 11 RBI and seven runs scored. Though he has only eight long balls on the campaign, Freeman has maintained an excellent .303/.386/.494 line with 45 runs and 45 RBI across 306 plate appearances.

Alfonso Rivas 1B | STL
Cubs' Alfonso Rivas: Swipes bag, knocks in two
Rivas knocked a two-run single and stole a base in his lone plate appearance against the Pirates on Thursday.
Rivas didn't start the contest, but he was called upon to pinch hit in the eighth inning. The 25-year-old came through with a clutch single that plated two runs and gave Chicago a short-lived lead. Since being recalled from the minors June 18, Rivas has gone 7-for-18 (.389) with a home run, seven RBI and five runs in six games.

Ryan Mountcastle 1B | BAL
Orioles' Ryan Mountcastle: Doubles twice Thursday
Mountcastle went 3-for-4 with a pair of doubles and a run scored in Thursday's 4-0 win over the White Sox.
Mouncastle has hit safely in 14 of his last 16 games, going 23-for-66 (.348) with seven multi-hit efforts in that span. Even amid a strong season, this is an impressive extended surge of hitting for the 25-year-old. He's up to a .281/.316/.494 slash line with 12 home runs, 37 RBI, 31 runs scored, two stolen bases and 14 doubles in 59 contests overall. He should continue to be productive as he hits anywhere from second to fifth in the order in a near-everyday role.

Andrew Vaughn 1B | MIL
White Sox's Andrew Vaughn: Limited to first base
Vaughn is dealing with leg soreness that has limited him to playing first base and serving as the designated hitter for the last six games, Scott Merkin of MLB.com reports.
The positive news is that Vaughn has remained in the lineup. The issue also hasn't slowed him at the plate, as he has three multi-hit games in his last six starts.

Luke Voit 1B | NYM
Padres' Luke Voit: Managing hamstring soreness
Voit isn't in the lineup for Thursday's game against the Phillies due to hamstring soreness, AJ Cassavell of MLB.com reports.
Voit has been an everyday player for the Padres this season, and he's out of the lineup Thursday for the first time since May 24. Manager Bob Melvin said that Voit could have played, but the team wanted to be safe by keeping him out of the starting nine. The 31-year-old should be considered day-to-day for now.

Ty France 1B | SD
Mariners' Ty France: X-rays negative
France (arm) underwent an X-ray following Thursday's game against the Athletics that came back negative, Ryan Divish of The Seattle Times reports.
Manager Scott Servais said Thursday that the team is "cautiously optimistic" about France's status following his early departure Thursday, but he'll undergo an MRI on Friday to help determine the severity of his injury. If France is forced to miss time, Kevin Padlo and Luis Torrens should see increased playing time at first base.

Padres' Luke Voit: Riding pine Thursday
Voit isn't starting Thursday's game against Philadelphia.
Voit will get his first day off in nearly a month after he slashed .286/.444/.571 with a home run, three doubles, four RBI and three runs over the last six games. Jorge Alfaro is serving as the designated hitter while Austin Nola starts behind the plate.

Jake Cronenworth 2B | SD
Padres' Jake Cronenworth: Receives rare day off
Cronenworth is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Phillies, Jeff Sanders of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.
Cronenworth started the past 33 games and will head to the bench for only the second time all season. He has a 1.029 OPS through 22 games in June, though he's 0-for-9 with two runs over the past two contests. CJ Abrams will start at the keystone with Ha-Seong Kim manning shortstop.
