Sullivan was optioned to Triple-A El Paso by the Padres on Tuesday, Kevin Acee of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

Sullivan was around as a third catcher for a week but didn't receive any starts. He's being replaced on the roster by Matthew Batten.

Schanuel is not in the lineup for Tuesday's contest in Tampa Bay.

Schanuel returned to the lineup Monday after missing a game with a testicular contusion, but he'll now head back to the bench for Tuesday's contest. Miguel Sano will occupy first base and bat cleanup for the Angels. Schanuel went 0-for-5 Monday and is now just 4-for-42 on the season.

Santana is absent from the lineup for Tuesday's game in Baltimore.

Alex Kirilloff will get the nod at first base while Santana takes a seat. It's the second day off of the season for Santana, who is slashing an ugly .135/.224/.154 over his first 14 contests.

Busch went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and two walks Monday in the Cubs' 3-2 win over the Diamondbacks.

Busch's leadoff blast off Merrill Kelly in the top of the sixth inning extended his home-run streak to five games, tying four other Cubs players for the longest streak in franchise history. Notably, all five of Busch's home runs during the streak have come at road venues, which offers hope that the rookie's power surge can continue once the weather warms up at Wrigley Field, a fertile hitting environment for left-handed batters in recent years. Managers that took a chance on Busch in the later rounds of drafts are relishing in the early returns, as he's provided a .327 average, six home runs, 12 RBI and nine runs through 16 games.

Montero is slashing .205/.265/.227 with zero home runs, two runs and two RBI through 13 games.

He has been playing regularly at first base and his 16.3 percent strikeout rate is a massive improvement over the 36.2 percent strikeout rate he logged in 85 games last year. It looks like his plate skills may have improved, but he may need to start producing soon in order to hold onto his starting role.

Toglia went 1-for-4 with a solo home run during Monday's 2-1 loss to the Phillies.

Toglia launched his fourth home run of the 2024 campaign, matching his homer total from a season before in 34 fewer games. Despite his impressive power output, Toglia owns a poor .167 on-base percentage with a massive 36.1 percent strikeout rate.

Cronenworth left Monday's game against the Brewers after experiencing tightness in his calf, Kevin Acee of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

Cronenworth reportedly felt the issue while trying to reach base on a groundout during the eighth inning, but skipper Mike Shildt said after the game that it's too early to know if the injury will force Cronenworth to miss additional time. The 30-year-old will be considered day-to-day until the medical staff has more information to share.

Pasquantino went 2-for-3 with a solo home run and a double in Monday's win over the White Sox.

Pasquantino went deep for the second straight game, crushing a 421-foot solo shot off Nick Nastrini in the fourth inning. The Royals first baseman is riding a five-game hit streak over which he has gone 9-for-21 with three home runs, 10 RBI and five runs scored. Pasquantino has used the hot stretch to significantly boost his season slash line, which stands at .255/.344/.473 over 64 plate appearances.

Through 13 games with Triple-A Iowa, Mervis is batting .333 with four home runs, 10 RBI and a 1.112 OPS.

Mervis has been locked in to start the season and looks like a player ready to return to the majors. The 25-year-old made his MLB debut last season but struggled, recording a .167/.242/.289 slash line across 27 games, to go along with a 32.3 percent strikeout rate. Mervis is limited to first base and designated hitter, and there's not much he can do at Triple-A to improve his dynasty stock, given that he's 26 years old and this is his third year at that level.

Montero was scratched from Monday's lineup against the Phillies.

Montero was initially slated to start at second base and bat fifth against Phillies right-hander Aaron Nola. Instead, Alan Trejo will draw the start at second base and bat ninth in the lineup.
