Braves' Yuli Gurriel: Will be re-introduced to third base
Gurriel will begin to play some third base at Triple-A Gwinnett, Joel Sherman of the New York Post reports.
Gurriel is 40 and hasn't started a game at the hot corner since 2019, but Atlanta wants him prepared to play the position, if needed, following the injury to Austin Riley (hand). Freddie Freeman 1B | LAD
Dodgers' Freddie Freeman: Starting Monday after all
Freeman (finger) is in the starting lineup for Monday's game against the Mariners, David Vassegh of AM 570 LA Sports reports.
Freeman was expected to miss Monday's matchup and potentially a few more days after suffering an injury Saturday and missing Sunday's game. Despite being diagnosed with a hairline fracture in his right middle finger, he's been penciled into the starting lineup for the series opener. Skipper Dave Roberts noted in his pregame remarks that Freeman remaining in the starting nine going forward will be all about pain tolerance, per Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic.

Rays' Yandy Diaz: Back in lineup Monday
Diaz (forearm) is serving as the designated hitter and batting in the leadoff spot in Monday's series opener against Oakland.
Diaz was forced to leave Sunday's game against Arizona after being hit by a pitch on his left forearm. X-rays and an MRI after the game both came back clean, and he will end up not needing to miss any time due to injury. Since the All-Star break, Diaz is slashing .270/.329/.392 with 10 runs scored, two home runs and eight RBI across 82 plate appearances.

Rays' Yandy Diaz: Imaging comes back clean
X-rays and an MRI both came back clean on Diaz's forearm after he was forced to exit Sunday's game against the Diamondbacks, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
Diaz was hit by a pitch in the first inning and was quickly diagnosed with a bruised forearm. Imaging confirms that he should be considered day-to-day and may not be forced to miss any additional time.

Freddie Freeman 1B | LAD
Dodgers' Freddie Freeman: Will miss more time
Freeman (finger) will miss at least Monday's game and could be out for a few additional days, Mike DiGiovanna of the Los Angeles Times reports.
Freeman jammed his finger Saturday and was held out of the lineup Sunday. He is set to undergo a CT scan on his finger Monday, which should give more clarity for a timeline for his return. Manager Dave Roberts didn't give additional details, though it sounds as if the first baseman could be in danger of missing the Dodgers' series against Seattle.
