The Twins recalled infielder Chris Colabello from Triple-A Rochester Sunday for a game against the Nationals. Colabello is serving as the team's 26th man in the doubleheader. 

Colabello had two hits over 15 at-bats earlier in the year for Minnesota. He's expected to be sent back to the minors following Sunday's game. 

Twins infielder Chris Colabello will be recalled for Sunday's doubleheader at Washington, the Minneapolis Star-Tribune reports.

Colabello was summoned by the Twins Saturday, but he cannot be in uniform or in the dugout for the game. He'll likely go right back to Triple-A Rochester after Sunday's game.

 Braves first baseman Freddie Freeman was a tough out Friday against the Dodgers, as he had his sixth three-hit game of the season. Freeman went 3 for 4 with a double and a run scored, in a 2-1 loss.

Freeman raised his batting average to .314 with the game, and is batting .350 with three home runs and nine RBI in his last 10 games. 

Diamondbacks first baseman Paul Goldschmidt came through big in the late stages of Friday's contest against the Giants. 

Goldschmidt belted a three-run, opposite field home run with two outs in the eighth inning to give his club a 3-1 victory. He finished 1 for 4 with a run scored and three RBI. He is hitting .345 (10 for 29) with three homers and 16 RBI in seven June games.

Reds first baseman Joey Votto has gone a bit cold since hitting his 10th home run May 29. Votto is in a 3-for-27 slump in his last seven games, dropping his season average from .352 to .323.

Votto has an RBI and no extra-base hits in his last seven games. He also has three walks and six strikeouts.

Before his seven-game slide, Votto hit .439 (29 for 66) with six home runs and 14 RBI over a 17-game stretch from May 11-29.

Diamondbacks first baseman Paul Goldschmidt is showing no signs of slowing down with another multi-hit game Wednesday against the Cardinals.

Goldschmidt had a grand slam, his 14th home run, and went 2 for 5 with four RBI in a 10-3 win. He also scored a run.

Goldschmidt has six multi-hit games in his last 10, batting .405 with two home runs, 15 RBI and 11 runs scored in that span. He ranks fifth in the National League in batting average (.336), fourth in home runs (14), first in RBI (53) and fourth in runs scored (42).  

Cubs first baseman Anthony Rizzo came up with a huge hit late in Wednesday's game against the Angels, as he broke open a scoreless tie in the 10th inning.  

Rizzo hit a bases-clearing double with the bases loaded and two outs, to put the Cubs up 8-5. They would go on to win, 8-6, with Rizzo going 2 for 6 with the three RBI.

Rizzo is batting .259 on the season, while ranking ninth in the National League in home runs (10) and 10th in RBI (39). 

Phillies first baseman Ryan Howard drove in a pair of runs on his 18th career triple Wednesday against the Marlins. It was his first triple since 2011.

The triple was Howard's lone hit and he's managed just one multi-hit game in his last 11 appearances (10 starts). He's batting .216 (8 for 37) with one home run, one triple, three doubles and four RBI in his past 11 games.

Paul Goldschmidt ripped a run-scoring single in the 14th inning to lift the Diamondbacks to a 7-6 win Tuesday against the Cardinals. Goldschmidt's winning hit improved his average to .376 with runners on base.

"I pretend there is nobody on base and just stick with my same approach," he said. "It's worked so far. We'll see what happens the rest of the year."

Goldschmidt collected three hits Tuesday, which included two doubles. He has at least one RBI in each of his first four June games (eight total RBI) and three multi-hit games. Since May 1, Goldschmidt is batting .378 (42 for 111) with eight home runs, 11 doubles and 31 RBI. His batting average has gone from .287 to .335 in that span.

"He's just got a great approach up there," Diamondbacks manager Kirk Gibson said of Goldschmidt.

Indians shortstop Asdrubal Cabrera is expected to miss roughly 3-4 weeks with a quadriceps injury, manager Terry Francona told The Cleveland Plain Dealer.

Francona stressed the roughness of his medical staff's guess. Quadriceps strains like Cabrera's can be difficult to predict, and as Francona said, "he'll heal when he heals." Still, 3-4 weeks would be consistent with similar injuries, so it will serve as a best guess until Cabrera gets deeper into the healing process.
