  • Yandy Diaz DH | TB

Rays' Yandy Diaz: Takes seat Saturday

Diaz is on the bench for Saturday's game against Cleveland, Neil Solondz of the Rays Radio Network reports.

Diaz has gone 7-for-20 with two home runs and four RBI in seven games since the All-Star break, although the bulk of that production came during Thursday's four-hit effort. Ji-Man Choi will start at first base and bat second with the right-handed J.C. Mejia on the mound for Cleveland.

  • Diamondbacks' Asdrubal Cabrera: Reinstated from injured list

Cabrera (hamstring) was reinstated from the 10-day injured list Saturday, Steve Gilbert of MLB.com reports.

Cabrera will return to the active roster after he spent two weeks on the injured list with a right hamstring strain. He was at the rookie-level Arizona Complex League affiliate recently and went 1-for-6 with a walk and four strikeouts. The 35-year-old isn't starting Saturday against the Cubs but could be available off the bench. Josh Rojas (finger) was placed on the 10-day IL in a corresponding move.

  • Bobby Dalbec 1B | CHW

Red Sox's Bobby Dalbec: On bench Saturday

Dalbec isn't in the lineup Saturday against the Yankees, Pete Abraham of The Boston Globe reports.

Dalbec had started each of the last three games while filling in for Christian Arroyo (hamstring), but he'll get a breather after he went 0-for-4 with two strikeouts Friday. Michael Chavis will start at first base and bat ninth.

  • Ty France 1B | SD

Mariners' Ty France: Reaches base three times in win

France went 2-for-3 with a double, a walk and a run scored in Friday's 4-3 win over the Athletics.

France walked to begin the bottom half of the second and came around to score on a two-run homer from Cal Raleigh. The 26-year-old would end up notching a single and then a double his next two times up, giving him five multi-hit performances over his last seven games. He's been swinging a hot bat for a while now and it's brought his slash line up to .276/.356/.429 with nine homers, 43 RBI, 44 runs scored and a 27:63 BB:K over 368 plate appearances.

  • Matt Olson 1B | ATL

Athletics' Matt Olson: Swats another homer

Olson went 1-for-4 with a solo homer run in Friday's 4-3 loss to the Mariners.

Olson took Yusei Kikuchi yard in the fourth for his only hit of the night. The 27-year-old slugger now has three homers in his last four games and 26 overall for the year. He's on pace for his best season since breaking into the league in 2016, as he's slashing .288/.376/.588 with 49 extra-base hits, 65 RBI, 64 runs scored, three steals and 46:63 BB:K over 394 plate appearances. His strikeout percentage has gone way down in comparison to past seasons which has led to a complete turnaround from his .195/.310/.424 slash line in 2020.

  • Nate Lowe DH | CIN

Rangers' Nathaniel Lowe: Plates two in loss

Lowe went 1-for-4 with a triple and two RBI in Friday's 7-3 loss to Houston.

Lowe's fifth-inning triple drove home a pair of runs and were his first RBI in the last 16 games. It was just his second extra-base hit during that span. Lowe is slashing .253/.359/.402 with 12 home runs and 45 RBI through 96 games.

  • Pete Alonso 1B | BAL

Mets' Pete Alonso: Carries offense in win

Alonso went 2-for-4 with two home runs and three RBI in Friday's 3-0 win over the Blue Jays.

He was the only batter on either side to have any success on the night -- the rest of the Mets managed only four hits (all singles) combined, which was one more than the entire Toronto lineup. Alonso extended his hitting streak in the process as he's hit safely in all seven games while going deep four times since defending his Home Run Derby crown. The surge has pushed his slash line on the season to .262/.339/.510 with 21 homers and 56 RBI through 85 contests.

Reds' Joey Votto: Raps out three hits Friday

The 37-year-old first baseman is locked in at the plate right now, collecting multiple hits in three of the last four games. Since returning to action from a thumb injury in early June, Votto has turned back the clock with a .297/.401/.507 slash line, seven homers and 27 RBI in 39 contests.

  • Cardinals' Paul Goldschmidt: Slugs 17th homer

Goldschmidt went 2-for-4 with a walk and a solo home run in Friday's 6-5 loss to the Reds.

He gave the Cards a quick 1-0 lead by taking Tyler Mahle deep in the first inning. Goldschmidt homered on the last day before the All-Star break and hasn't slowed down since, slashing .371/.476/.829 over his last nine games with five of his 17 long balls on the season.

  • Josh Bell DH | MIN

Nationals' Josh Bell: Swats 15th home run

Bell went 1-for-4 with a solo home run and two strikeouts in Friday's 6-1 loss to the Orioles.

Bell snapped a seven-game hitting streak in Wednesday's loss to the Marlins, and he accounted for Washington's only run in Friday's loss. The 28-year-old has now homered in three of his last four games, and he's gone 7-for-25 with three home runs, four RBI, three runs and six strikeouts in his seven appearances since the All-Star break.
