    Guerrero went 2-for-3 with two walks and a run scored in Tuesday's 12-6 loss to the Nationals.

    The 22-year-old may be coming out of his August funk, hitting safely in five straight games and scoring a run in four straight. Despite a .712 OPS on the month to date, Guerrero still sports an exceptional .316/.413/.612 slash line on the season with 35 homers, 88 RBI and 91 runs through 117 contests.

    White Sox's Jose Abreu: Goes deep in rout

    Abreu went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run Tuesday in a 9-0 win over the Athletics.

    The first baseman broke the game open in the fourth frame, launching a three-run blast to left field to give the White Sox an 8-0 lead. Abreu is up to 25 homers and 89 runs batted in on the season, with the RBI total tied for first in the majors. He has enjoyed an excellent August, slashing .317/.359/.717 with seven long balls, 12 RBI and 12 runs over 15 games.

    Rockies' C.J. Cron: Homers again

    Cron went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and a single in Tuesday's 7-3 win over the Padres.

    After walking it off against San Diego on Monday, Cron picked back up where he left off with another long ball. This time he victimized Tim Hill in the seventh inning to spot the Rockies an insurance run. After hitting .206 in July, the first baseman is hitting .408 in August with seven home runs and 22 RBI.

  • Padres' Jake Cronenworth: Homers in loss

    Cronenworth went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and a single in Tuesday's 7-3 loss to the Rockies.

    Cronenworth was one of three Padres to homer off Colorado starter German Marquez in the seventh inning Tuesday night. The utility man is hitting .321 in the month of August with more RBI (13) than strikeouts (eight).

    Mets' Dominic Smith: Heads to bench Tuesday

    Smith is out of the lineup Tuesday against the Giants, Mike Puma of the New York Post reports.

    Smith started the past three games and will take a seat after going 1-for-12 with a walk and an RBI. Kevin Pillar will man right field Tuesday for the Mets.

    Phillies' Rhys Hoskins: Won't return before Thursday

    Manager Joe Girardi said Tuesday that Hoskins (groin) will remain on the 10-day injured list through Wednesday, Jody Jackson of Bally Sports Arizona reports.

    Hoskins has been targeting a return at some point during the series in Arizona, but based on Girardi's update, he won't be activated until the final game in the desert at the earliest. Brad Miller is set to fill his void at first base again Tuesday and that is likely to be the case until Hoskins is reinstated.

    Red Sox's Bobby Dalbec: Sitting Game 2 on Tuesday

    Dalbec is not starting Game 2 of Tuesday's doubleheader against the Yankees, Pete Abraham of The Boston Globe reports.

    Dalbec went 1-for-2 with a run scored while starting at first base during the first half of the twin bill. Travis Shaw will take over against right-hander Luis Gil during the nightcap.

  • Orioles' Ryan Mountcastle: Starting in return from IL

    Mountcastle is batting cleanup as the first baseman Tuesday against Tampa Bay, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.

    Mountcastle was activated earlier Tuesday after being out 10 days because of a concussion. He'll resume his season with a .264/.308/.477 slash line, 19 homers and 63 RBI.

  • Keston Hiura 2B | LAD

    Brewers' Keston Hiura: Activated at Triple-A level

    Hiura was activated from the COVID-19 list at Triple-A Nashville on Tuesday.

    It's been a frustrating year for Hiura, but he's at least now through his two-week COVID-related absence. There doesn't appear to be a role available for him at the major-league level at the moment, but he'll at least now be able to get back into game action in the minors.

    Rays' Yandy Diaz: Returns to lineup Tuesday

    Diaz (thumb) is starting at third base and batting cleanup Tuesday against Baltimore, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

    Diaz missed the previous three games as he nursed a sprained left thumb, but the infielder is ready to give it a go Tuesday. He'll enter the contest on a three-game hitting streak, during which he's gone 3-for-10 with a homer, two walks and two runs scored.
