  • Carlos Santana 1B | ARI

Indians' Carlos Santana: Plates three runs in win over Rangers

Santana went 2-for-5 with a double, three RBI and three runs during Monday's win over Texas.

Despite the 41 RBI and 46 runs he's piled up, it's been an underwhelming campaign for Santana. as his .225/.328/.384 slash line and nine home runs are disappointing marks. His fantasy floor remains high, and it wouldn't be shocking to see him improve on his 10.1 HR/FB rate after posting a 16.9 mark last season. With that in mind, this could prove to be an opportune buy-low spot.

  • Yandy Diaz DH | TB

Indians' Yandy Diaz: Activated from Triple-A DL

Diaz (quad) was activated Monday from the 7-day disabled list at Triple-A Columbus.

Diaz was sidelined for a little over two weeks with the quad strain, but with all sound on the health front, it's expected that he'll slide back into an everyday role with Columbus. The third baseman-outfielder is hitting .318/.438/.439 over 163 plate appearances with the Triple-A club this season.

  • Yuli Gurriel DH | SD

Astros' Yulieski Gurriel: Back in lineup Saturday

Gurriel is starting at first base and batting seventh Saturday in place of the injured Marwin Gonzalez (oblique).

Gonzalez and Gurriel are the only two first basemen on the Astros' roster, forcing the latter to be thrust into action on what was scheduled to be a day off. It will be the fifth consecutive start for the 33-year-old, who is pacing the red-hot Astros with a .311 batting average in June.

  • Matt Olson 1B | ATL

Athletics' Matt Olson: Hits first two home runs

Olson went 2-for-4 with two home runs, two walks and four RBI in Saturday's win over the White Sox.

Olson bookended Oakland's 10-run showing against James Shields and company with the first two home runs of his young career. With the A's seemingly embracing a youth movement, Olson may stick around for a while this time. He's hit second in the order in each of the team's last three games.

  • Yuli Gurriel DH | SD

Astros' Yulieski Gurriel: Takes seat Saturday

Gurriel is not in the lineup Saturday against the Mariners, Jake Kaplan of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Following a rough start to the weekend series Friday in which he went 0-for-4 with two strikeouts, Gurriel will get a day to clear his head. The 33-year-old is putting together a terrific month, slashing .311/.312/.527, but he'll give way to Marwin Gonzalez at first base for Saturday's contest.

  • LaMonte Wade 1B | CHW

Twins' LaMonte Wade: Not swinging bat as much this year

Wade has four home runs and six stolen bases (on eight attempts) while hitting .271 for Double-A Chattanooga.

The most troubling stat for Wade is the 38 strikeouts he's accumulated so far this season, already more than he's had at any other level of the minors. Similarly, however, is the increased patience he's shown at the plate, as he's walked 51 times this year as well, also the most he's had at any level.

  • Chris Carter 1B | LAA

Yankees' Chris Carter: Designated for assignment

Carter was designated for assignment following Friday's game against the Rangers.

Carter went 0-for-4 with three strikeouts in his final game to bring his batting line to a brutal .204/.286/.383. The pop he provides just hasn't been enough to offset his lack of contact ability. The Yankees will call up Tyler Austin to replace Carter before Saturday's game.

  • C.J. Cron 1B | BOS

Angels' C.J. Cron: Optioned to Triple-A Salt Lake

Cron was sent down to the minors Friday prior to the series opener against Boston.

Cron has been struggling recently, failing to record a hit during his last four games (0-for-9 with three walks and three strikeouts) and seemingly losing time to Luis Valbuena as the latter starts to heat up. In a corresponding move, the team recalled Eduardo Paredes from Salt Lake. Even though Cron is heading back to Triple-A, the first baseman will likely be back in the big leagues before long.

  • Matt Olson 1B | ATL

Athletics' Matt Olson: Plates two in return to majors

Olson went 2-for-3 with two RBI from a run-scoring groundout and a double in Thursday's 12-9 loss to the Astros. He also walked twice and scored once.

Olson celebrated a return to the big-league club by getting on base four times and notching his first two major-league hits of 2017 in the process. The 23-year-old's defensive versatility figures to afford him some playing time while fellow prospect Matt Chapman (knee) remains sidelined, giving Olson some much-needed seasoning against big-league arms.

  • Jose Abreu 1B | HOU

White Sox's Jose Abreu: Hits two-run bomb against Twins

Abreu went 1-for-5 with a two-run home run during Thursday's win over Minnesota.

The first baseman is locked into a nice groove at the dish with a .392/.429/.706 slash line, nine extra-base hits, 14 RBI and 12 runs through his past 12 games. Abreu is well on his way to posting his fourth consecutive 100-RBI campaign and is also on pace to return to the 30-HR club.
