Ashby secured the save in Game 2 of the World Series against the Rays on Saturday, allowing one hit and no walks while striking out three over 1.2 innings. It's the third save of the playoffs for Ashby, who notched just four in 75 appearances during the regular season. After recording the final two outs of the eighth inning, the left-hander returned for the ninth and immediately put the tying run on base when Jonny DeLuca led off with a double. Ashby once again stayed composed and retired the next three batters to give Milwaukee a 2-0 series lead. The 28-year-old has arguably been the best pitcher -- starter or reliever -- in the playoffs thus far, as he's fired 15.2 scoreless innings while giving up just five hits with a 17:3 K:BB.

Ashby earned the save in Game 4 of the NLCS against the Dodgers on Thursday, allowing two hits and no walks while striking out three across three scoreless innings. Ashby generated seven whiffs on 39 pitches (25 strikes), but Los Angeles still threatened during the seventh and eighth innings, putting a runner on third with one out in both frames, which at the time represented the tying run. The left-hander didn't flinch and escaped both jams, and manager Pat Murphy allowed him to finish off the series sweep even though closer Trevor Megill was ready for the ninth. Ashby fired 6.2 scoreless frames in the series and remains unscored upon through six appearances during the postseason.

Ashby struck out two without allowing a baserunning in 1.2 scoreless innings to earn the save in Game 2 of the NLCS against the Dodgers on Monday. The left-hander continued his dominant run this postseason, as he's given up just two hits and three walks while striking out eight across 9.1 frames through five appearances. Manager Pat Murphy continues to utilize Ashby as a Swiss-army knife, as he's already recorded a win, a hold and a save while working in every frame from the fifth through ninth innings. Milwaukee's bullpen has been dominant as a unit in October, with Ashby leading the charge.

Ashby struck out one in a perfect ninth inning Saturday to record his third save of the season in a 1-0 win over the Orioles. With Trevor Megill having pitched three of the prior four days and blowing a save chance Friday, Milwaukee turned to Ashby to handle the ninth after Abner Uribe worked a scoreless eighth inning. Ashby is having a shaky September of his own, getting scored upon in three of his last seven appearances, and on the month he sports a 3.48 ERA, 1.35 WHIP and 8:4 K:BB in 10.1 innings. The left-hander remains firmly in the high-leverage mix however, and over 73 appearances this season he's pocketed 13 wins and 15 holds to go along with his saves.
