Miller was reinstated from the paternity list ahead of Game 4 of the NLDS versus the Brewers on Wednesday. He was away from the club for Game 3 on Tuesday in order to attend the birth of his first child, but it will be only a one-day absence for the star closer. Miller was saddled with a blown save and loss in Game 2 on Sunday.

The Padres placed Miller on the postseason paternity list Tuesday, Alden Gonzalez of ESPN.com reports. Miller will be permitted to spend no more than three days away from the team while he welcomes a new addition to his family, and he'll be allowed to rejoin the active roster immediately upon returning if San Diego is able to extend the series. In the meantime, the Padres will add Wandy Peralta to their NLDS roster to replace Miller in the bullpen.

Miller allowed a run on one hit and struck out two over one inning to earn the save in Thursday's 4-2 win over the Dodgers. Miller gave up an RBI double to Shohei Ohtani but was able to preserve the Padres' lead. Miller has given up just 13 runs all season (10 earned), but he's allowed six runs (five earned) over his last 13.2 innings dating back to Aug. 25. The star closer has a 1.30 ERA, 0.84 WHIP and 127:24 K:BB through 69 innings while converting 38 of 41 save chances, but he's not in the best form as the Padres look to lock up a playoff spot.

Miller allowed one run on one hit and struck out four without walking a batter over 1.2 innings, taking a blown save in Saturday's 7-6 extra-inning win over the Marlins. Miller worked out of a problem created by Adrian Morejon in the eighth inning, but Griffin Conine took the Padres' closer deep for a game-tying solo shot during the ninth. After a blown save to end August, Miller had converted all five of his save chances in September prior to Saturday, which was his first appearance in five days. He's still at an elite 1.23 ERA, 0.85 WHIP and 123:23 K:BB through 66 innings while converting 37 of 40 save chances this year.

Miller picked up the save Monday against Colorado. He allowed a hit and no walks while striking out two over a scoreless inning. Entering with a one-run cushion, Miller shook off a one-out single to secure his 37th save of the season. The hard-throwing right-hander has been lights out in September, posting a 15:3 K:BB and five saves without an earned run allowed across seven innings (six appearances) this month. It's been a dominant first full campaign in San Diego for Miller, who owns a 1.12 ERA, 0.85 WHIP and 119:23 K:BB in 64.1 frames.
