  • Alcantara (12-6) notched win Sunday against the Mets, allowing no runs on four hits and two walks in six innings. He struck out five. That makes it back-to-back scoreless starts for Alcantara, who continues to be a workhorse for the Marlins in 2026. The right-hander has reached the 90-pitch mark in all but two of his 24 outings -- reaching the 100-pitch plateau in half of them -- and he's now thrown at least six innings in six consecutive appearances and 11 of his last 12. Alcantara is set to bring a 3.68 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and 120:41 K:BB over 156.2 frames into a soft home matchup against the Angels.

  • Alcantara (11-6) earned the win Tuesday against the Phillies after tossing seven scoreless innings, allowing four hits and a walk while striking out five. Alcantara tossed 64 of his 97 pitches for strikes in what was an impressive bounce-back outing after he gave up five runs on nine hits across seven frames at Houston his last time out. Alcantara has been hit or miss of late, trading outings in which he's allowed either one run or zero or at least three earned runs in his last six starts. He has a 3.32 ERA with a 34:12 K:BB across 40.2 innings in that stretch. He's lined up to make his next start Sunday on the road against the Mets.

  • Alcantara (10-6) allowed five runs on nine hits and a walk while striking out three over seven-plus innings to take the loss Wednesday versus the Astros. Alcantara had limited the damage to two runs through seven frames, but he gave up three more runs on homers by Yordan Alvarez and Isaac Paredes in the eighth. Alcantara has gone at least six frames in all four of his starts in July, allowing 10 runs over 28 innings with a 26:6 K:BB this month. For the season, the veteran right-hander has a 4.01 ERA, 1.23 WHIP and 110:38 K:BB across 143.2 innings through 22 outings. He's projected to make his next start at home versus the Phillies.

  • Alcantara didn't factor into the decision in Friday's 2-1 extra-inning loss to the Brewers, allowing one run on three hits and four walks over six innings. He struck out seven. The veteran right-hander produced his third straight quality start in July and MLB-leading 15th of the season on 104 pitches (60 strikes), but he left the mound with the score tied 1-1. Over 21 innings this month, Alcantara has delivered a 2.14 ERA, 0.90 WHIP and 23:5 K:BB, and with the Marlins firmly in playoff contention, the odds of him being dealt at the trade deadline are dwindling. Alcantara will look to keep rolling in his next outing, which is set to come on the road next week in Houston.

  • Alcantara (10-5) took the loss Friday against the Guardians, allowing three runs on five hits across seven innings while striking out eight. Alcantara gave up a two-run shot to Chase DeLauter in the top of the fourth and another run in the fifth on a Travis Bazzana sac fly. Despite the loss, Alcantara has been a reliable arm throughout the season. He's allowed two or fewer earned runs in four of his last five starts, and this loss snapped a streak of seven straight starts with a win for the 30-year-old. Alcantara has a 3.99 ERA in 130.2 innings this season and is lined up to make his next start against the Brewers on the road Friday, July 17.
