The Giants transferred Bader (foot) from the 10-day injured list to the 60-day injured list Wednesday, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports. The transaction clears room on the 40-man roster for left-hander Matt Wilkinson, who was called up from Triple-A Sacramento to start Wednesday's game in Cleveland. The Giants had already ruled Bader out for the season shortly after the All-Star break, when the outfielder suffered further damage to his injured left foot in a scooter accident. Manager Tony Vitello said that even before the accident, Bader had been considered out for the season while struggling to recover from plantar fasciitis, which sent him to the IL on May 30. Bader slashed just .170/.198/.358 over 30 games in what was a highly disappointing first season with the Giants, who signed him to a two-year, $20.5 million deal in January.

Giants manager Tony Vitello said Thursday that Bader (foot) won't return from the 10-day injured list before the end of the season, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports. Placed on shelf May 30 after experiencing plantar fasciitis in his left foot, Bader worsened the injury when he was involved in a scooter accident last weekend. According to Vitello, the Giants were already anticipating Bader to miss the remainder of the season before his accident, though the outfielder's recovery timeline could be extended as a result of the setback. Bader underwent a follow-up MRI on his foot earlier in the week, but the Giants haven't provided any details regarding to what extent the scooter accident worsened his injury. The 32-year-old will be heading into the second season of a two-year, $20.5 million deal in 2027 after finishing his inaugural campaign in San Francisco with a .170/.198/.358 slash line to go with five home runs, 14 RBI and 10 runs over 30 games.

Bader had a scooter accident this past weekend and further injured his left foot, Justice delos Santos of The San Jose Mercury News reports. Bader has been sidelined since late May while nursing plantar fasciitis in his left foot. The outfielder met with a foot and ankle specialist in Indianapolis on Monday, and he will now require an MRI, which he will undergo Tuesday. Bader can be considered without a timetable to return for the time being.

Bader (foot) is unlikely to be activated from the 10-day injured list until after the trade deadline, Evan Webeck of the California Post reports. Bader was cleared to resume running the bases at the beginning of the month, but the team hasn't provided much of an update since. Manager Tony Vitello stated Monday that Bader is progressing slowly, and he failed to provide an estimated timetable for the outfielder's return. The 32-year-old will presumably need to complete a rehab assignment in the minors before being activated.

Bader (foot) will take batting practice Monday and run the bases Tuesday, Justice delos Santos of The San Jose Mercury News reports. As long as he comes out of those activities with no setbacks, Bader should be able to begin a rehab assignment soon. The veteran outfielder has been sidelined since late May due to plantar fasciitis in his left foot.
