Buccaneers' Sean Tucker: Garners 23 total yards in preseason win
Tucker rushed four times for 12 yards and brought in both targets for 11 yards in the Buccaneers' 24-16 preseason win over the Jets on Friday.
Neither Bucky Irving nor Kenny Gainwell were active Friday, leaving Tucker as the starting running back. The fourth-year pro gained four yards on his first carry during Tampa Bay's three-and-out opening possession, and he ended up playing on the Buccaneers' first three drives. Tucker recorded a career-high 320 rushing yards and seven touchdowns over 17 regular-season games in 2025, and he projects to remain in a No. 3 running back role and potentially serve as a primary kickoff returner once again in 2026.

Buccaneers' Sean Tucker: Signs deal with Bucs
The Buccaneers signed Tucker, who had been a restricted free agent, on Monday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Tucker recorded 320 yards on 86 carries in 17 games during the 2025 regular season, while working behind Bucky Irving and Rachaad White. While White is now with the Commanders, the Bucs added Kenneth Gainwell to their backfield via free agency last month, and the presence of the former Steeler sets the stage for Tucker to remain the team's No. 3 RB in 2026.

Buccaneers' Sean Tucker: Gets RFA tender
The Buccaneers are giving Tucker a restricted-free-agent tender, Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
Reports last week suggested the Bucs wouldn't use the tender and would allow Tucker to become an unrestricted free agent. They ended up using the tender despite signing RB Kenneth Gainwell to a two-year contract with $10 million guaranteed. Tucker could still leave Tampa Bay if another team gives him an offer sheet and the Bucs opt not to match, but the more likely scenario is some kind of agreement to stick around for another year as the No. 3 RB.

Buccaneers' Sean Tucker: Set to hit free agency
Tucker won't be tendered a contract by the Buccaneers as a restricted free agent, so he will become an unrestricted free agent when the new league year begins March 11, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN reports.
Tucker had only 320 rushing yards in 2025 as part of a backfield that also included Bucky Irving and Rachaad White, but the 24-year-old running back out of Syracuse led the team with seven rushing touchdowns. Given Tucker's effectiveness in the red zone in 2025 after he averaged 6.2 yards per carry on 50 regular-season rushing attempts in 2024, he should garner some interest on the open market and could work his way into part of a backfield platoon depending on his landing spot.

Buccaneers' Sean Tucker: Quiet finish on offense
Tucker rushed four times for minus-4 yards in the Buccaneers' 16-14 win over the Panthers on Saturday. He also returned three kickoffs for 57 yards.
Despite his forgettable finish to the season, Tucker rushed for a career-high 320 yards and seven touchdowns on 86 carries while adding an 8-34-1 receiving line and a career-high 597 kickoff return yards across 17 games. He logged only 36 more rush attempts than in 2024 despite the fact that Bucky Irving missed seven games due to foot and shoulder injuries. However, Tucker became a preferred red-zone option down the stretch with 24 touches. He will presumably have an inside track on the No. 2 role in the backfield next season with Rachaad White expected to depart in free agency.

Buccaneers' Sean Tucker: Rushes for eight yards in loss
Tucker rushed two times for eight yards in Tampa Bay's loss to Miami on Sunday.
Tucker failed to reel in his lone target in the passing game. Tucker has been handling goal-line duties for the Bucs. Part of a three-way committee in the backfield, Tucker carries extremely minimal fantasy value ahead of a Week 18 date with the Panthers. He's a touchdown-or-bust proposition with Bucky Irving healthy.

Buccaneers' Sean Tucker: Vultures another TD opportunity
Tucker rushed four times for three yards and a touchdown in the Buccaneers' 23-20 loss to the Panthers on Sunday.
Tucker logged four carries and netted single-digit rushing yardage for the second straight game, but he got into the end zone for a third consecutive contest via a one-yard run with under seven minutes remaining in the third quarter. Tucker's compact 5-foot-10, 210-pound frame appears to have carved him out his current red-zone role, but he'll likely remain a TD-dependent fantasy option in a Week 17 road matchup against the Dolphins.
