Garrett Greene: Catches on with Tampa Bay's practice squad
The Buccaneers signed Greene to the practice squad Monday, Scott Smith of the team's official site reports.
The Buccaneers waived Green during Sunday's cutdown day. The wide receiver spent the entire 2025 season on the practice squad and promptly returned to the unit once he cleared Sunday's waivers. Greene was not elevated for a game during the 2025 season, but his six receptions for 80 yards over three preseason games in 2026 show he may have improved enough to suit up a few times throughout the regular season.

Garrett Greene: Joins Tampa's practice squad
The Buccaneers signed Greene to their practice squad Thursday, Scott Smith of the team's official site reports.
A position change to wide receiver wasn't enough to earn Greene a spot on Tampa Bay's final 53-man roster, but he'll keep running routes on the practice squad. The Bucs are relatively deep at wideout, so it could take multiple injuries for Greene to have a chance at seeing regular-season action in 2025.

Garrett Greene: Waived by TB
Greene was waived Tuesday, Scott Smith of the Buccaneers' official site reports.
Greene showcased his versatility in the preseason, as the former West Virginia quarterback scored a receiving touchdown in the preseason finale and also contributed on special teams. That wasn't enough to make Tampa Bay's 53-man roster, but Greene could land on the practice squad after passing through waivers.

Buccaneers' Garrett Greene: Impresses in preseason finale
Greene brought in all three targets for 18 yards and a touchdown in the Buccaneers' 23-19 preseason loss to the Bills on Saturday night.
The converted quarterback flashed with a one-yard touchdown catch just past the two-minute warning, his first score of the exhibition slate. Greene recorded multiple receptions in all three preseason games, and he also gained 52 combined yards on a pair of punt returns and one kickoff runback. The versatile West Virginia product likely still has an uphill battle to make the 53-man roster due to the depth at receiver, but Greene may be an ideal practice-squad candidate.

Buccaneers' Garrett Greene: Has diverse role in preseason win
Greene brought in both targets for 22 yards and returned one punt for 17 yards during the Buccaneers' 29-7 preseason win over the Titans on Saturday night.
The West Virginia product officially began his quest to secure a roster spot at a new position after serving as a quarterback with the Mountaineers during a five-year college tenure. Greene made good use of his two targets and flashed his versatility on his one punt return as well. While Tampa Bay has a deep wide receiver depth chart, the coaching staff clearly sees some potential in Greene and are likely to continue affording him some second-half opportunities in Saturday night's second exhibition game against the Steelers.
