Kearis Jackson: Cut by Houston
Jackson was waived by the Texans on Monday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Jackson signed a reserve/future contract with the Texans in late January after spending the majority of the 2024 season on the Giants' practice squad. The wide receiver's tenure in Houston was short-lived and he'll now look for another opportunity elsewhere. Jackson last appeared in an NFL contest in 2023, playing 21 snaps on special teams over two games with the Titans.

Texans' Kearis Jackson: Gets opportunity in Houston
The Texans signed Jackson to a reserve/future contract Friday.
Jackson spent time on the Giants' practice squad during the 2024 season, but he hasn't suited up for a game since 2023, when he logged two appearances with the Titans. The kick-return specialist will now get a chance to continue his development, as well as compete for a depth role, with Houston.

Kearis Jackson: Finds new opportunity
Jackson signed with the Giants' practice squad Monday, Art Stapleton of The Bergen Record reports.
Jackson has been more of a kick-return specialist than a wideout, handling that role for two games with the Titans last season and in the preseason this summer before ultimately being waived on cutdown day. He'll now work to earn that role in New York, starting as a member of the practice squad.

Titans' Kearis Jackson: Questionable for preseason finale
Jackson (knee) is questionable for the Titans' last preseason game at New Orleans, Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site reports.
Jackson sustained a bruised knee during Saturday's preseason game versus the Seahawks, and now it looks like that injury could keep him out for the rest of the preseason. If he is indeed out, undrafted rookie free agent Sam Schnee could see an uptick in reps.

Titans' Kearis Jackson: Hurts knee in exhibition game
Jackson suffered a knee injury in Saturday's preseason contest against Seattle and is questionable to return, Terry McCormick of TitanInsider.com reports.
Jackson played only three snaps on offense and didn't see a target before getting hurt. However, he made an impression on special teams with a 30-yard punt return. Jackson is battling for a spot on the 53-man roster with a host of other wideouts, including fellow returner Jha'Quan Jackson. As such, it could be a major blow to Kearis' chances of making the cut if the knee issue keeps him out of the Titans' final preseason contest Sunday, Aug. 25 against New Orleans.

The undrafted rookie out of Georgia earned a spot on the Titans' 53-man roster out of the preseason after securing a job as the team's top kickoff and punt returner, but he doesn't look as though he'll be featured at receiver anytime soon. Jackson has yet to log a snap on offense through two weeks.
