Buccaneers' Ted Hurst: Notches first career touchdown
Hurst caught one of three targets for a 40-yard touchdown during Sunday's 23-16 loss to Minnesota.
Hurst made the most of his one catch, notching his first career touchdown on a 40-yard deep ball from quarterback Baker Mayfield in the first quarter. The wide receiver has now caught six of 13 targets for 103 yards and a touchdown over the first three regular-season games. Mayfield suffered a thumb injury in the fourth quarter and seems likely to miss action moving forward, so Hurst and the rest of Tampa Bay's offense may have a tough time getting into a rhythm with backup quarterback Jalon Daniels likely at the helm in Week 4 against the Packers.

Buccaneers' Ted Hurst: Sees seven targets from Mayfield in Week 2
Hurst caught two passes (on seven targets) for 27 yards during the Buccaneers' 23-19 loss to the Browns on Sunday.
Hurst was listed as a starter alongside Chris Godwin and Emeka Egbuka for Sunday's game, with Hurst playing 48 of 65 offensive snaps (73.8 percent). The rookie third-rounder caught passes of 21 and six yards from Baker Mayfield, though Hurst also was targeted on a ball that was intercepted by Myles Harden late in the first quarter. Hurst will take a 5-63-0 line (on 10 targets) into a Week 3 home tilt against the Vikings on Sept. 27.

Buccaneers' Ted Hurst: Catches three passes in Week 1
Hurst caught all three of his targets for 36 yards in Sunday's 33-27 loss to the Bengals.
With Jalen McMillan (knee) inactive, Hurst played 75 percent of the offensive snaps against Cincinnati and ran 30 routes on Baker Mayfield's 36 dropbacks. Hurst's three targets were fifth on the team. McMillan's injury isn't expected to keep him out long, so Hurst will be competing for playing time once everyone is healthy. Hurst is merely someone to watch on the waiver wire in normal-sized redraft fantasy leagues.

Buccaneers' Ted Hurst: Talked up by OC
Offensive coordinator Zac Robinson said Thursday that Hurst has continued to ascend week after week while adjusting well to the NFL, Scott Smith of the Buccaneers' official site reports.
Hurst is likely to begin his career in a depth role, though the rookie third-round pick out of Georgia State could see some involvement on offense out of the gate, especially if Jalen McMillan (knee) isn't cleared to face the Bengals in Week 1. McMillan practiced on a limited basis Wednesday, while Emeka Egbuka practiced fully after dealing with a recent toe injury. Egbuka and Chris Godwin figure to get most of the targets among Tampa Bay's wide receivers, though the 6-foot-3 Hurst showed the ability to stretch the field in college and may not need heavy volume to make an impact.

Buccaneers' Ted Hurst: No catches in preseason start
Hurst failed to bring in his only target in the Buccaneers' 16-15 preseason win over the Chiefs on Saturday.
The rookie wideout once again drew the start due to the plethora of injuries at the wide receiver position for the Buccaneers. However, unlike his two-catch pro debut against the Jets, Hurst was unable to crack the stat sheet Saturday. Assuming all of Emeka Egbuka (toe), Jalen McMillan (knee) and Tez Johnson (groin) are available for a Week 1 road matchup against the Bengals, Hurst won't be guaranteed active status on gameday; however, any absences on the part of the trio would change the equation.

Buccaneers' Ted Hurst: Two grabs in starting role
Hurst brought in two of six targets for 19 yards in the Buccaneers' 24-16 preseason win over the Jets on Friday.
With Emeka Egbuka (toe), Chris Godwin and Jalen McMillan (knee) all sitting out, Hurst worked as the Buccaneers' de facto No. 1 receiver on the night. The rookie third-round pick recorded his first catch for a seven-yard gain on the Buccaneers' second drive, and he added a 12-yard grab on Tampa Bay's third possession. Hurst was also targeted by Connor Bazelak on a goal-line slant on the final ball thrown his way, but the pass was a bit behind him and broken up. Hurst enters his rookie season with elevated expectations after an impressive two-year tenure at the D1 level, and both Godwin and McMillan's recent injury history suggests Hurst could see plenty of opportunity in his first NFL season.

Buccaneers' Ted Hurst: Viewed as true X receiver
Speaking with the media Tuesday, new Bucs OC Zac Robinson said third-round rookie Hurst is viewed as a "true X" receiver in Tampa Bay, Scott Smith of the Buccaneers' official site reports.
Hurst has the size at 6-foot-4 and 206 pounds and the long-range speed (4.42-second forty) to run the downfield routes vacated by Mike Evans, who is one of this generation's prototypical X receivers. The Bucs used the 84th overall pick on Hurst, who likely would've gone sooner if he'd faced stiffer college competition instead of playing at Georgia State. Hurst drew some Nico Collins comparisons in the pre-draft process. His main competition for playing time in three-wide sets figures to be Jalen McMillan.
