Mark Thompson: Let go by Las Vegas
The Raiders waived Thompson on Monday, Scott Bair of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
Thompson joined the Raiders via a reserve/future deal in early January, but his spot on the roster seems to have been eliminated due to the team's decision to draft Lynn Bowden as a running back in the third round of the 2020 NFL Draft. The 25-year-old, who also previously spent time on Detroit's and Baltimore's practice squads, will now look for a shot with another team.

Raiders' Mark Thompson: Inks deal with Oakland
Thompson signed a reserve/future contract with the Raiders on Tuesday.
Thompson had a workout with the Raiders in November but wasn't able to land a deal during the regular season. The 25-year-old spent time on Detroit's and Baltimore's practice squads early in the season before going down with injury.

Mark Thompson: Works out in Oakland
Thompson (undisclosed) had a workout with the Raiders on Monday, Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle reports.
Thompson was cut off the Ravens' practice squad with an injury settlement in late September, but he now appears healthy almost two months later. The 24-year-old hasn't seen NFL action since going undrafted out of Florida in 2018.

The Ravens cut Thompson (undisclosed) from their practice squad with an injury settlement Monday, freelance NFL writer Howard Balzer reports.
It's unclear what sort of injury Thompson is dealing with, but now that he's done with Baltimore, he's free to sign with any team. The Florida product will hope to get healthy and latch on with another club, likely on a practice squad.

Thompson latched on with the Lions this spring but did not survive final roster cuts over the weekend. The big-bodied running back could become relevant as a short-yardage option if he ever makes his way onto an active roster, be it in Detroit or somewhere else.

Lions' Mark Thompson: Totals 55 yards in preseason finale
Thompson carried 11 times for 35 yards while catching two of three targets for 20 yards during Thursday's preseason game against the Browns.
Thompson led the way at running back but likely didn't do anything that will convince the Lions to keep four running backs on the active roster during the regular season. However, it's worth noting the Florida product was more efficient (4.7 yards per carry) over 17 rushing attempts during the first three preseason games. It's possible Thompson could be picked up by an RB-needy team during roster cutdowns, but he's probably more of a candidate for the practice squad.

Mark Thompson: Inks deal with Detroit
Thompson signed a reserve-future contract with the Lions on Wednesday, Tim Twentyman of the Lions' official site reports.
The deal will allow Thompson to begin working with the team following the start of the offseason program in mid-April. Thompson is still somewhat of a long shot to make the active roster, but he'll have the opportunity to showcase his talents throughout the summer.
