Cardinals' Jeremiyah Love: Optimism for Week 1
Coach Mike LaFleur said he's "optimistic" Love (ankle) will be able to play Sunday against the Chargers, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
Love was moving around at practice Monday, but LaFleur would only go as far as to say the rookie running back is "progressing" in his recovery from his mid-August ankle sprain. Even if he plays Week 1, Love is expected to cede plenty of carries and snaps to Tyler Allgeier. Love would be a risky fantasy start in redraft leagues, but he also has plenty of upside as the No. 3 overall pick with home run-hitting ability with the ball in his hands.

Cardinals' Jeremiyah Love: Continues to progress
Coach Mike LaFleur said Thursday that Love (ankle) is "progressing," Howard Balzer of Cards Wire reports.
It seems to be the only thing LaFleur is willing to say about his rookie running back's recovery at this point, as the coach has made it his daily ritual to say Love is merely progressing while offering little else in the form of insight. Love has 10 days to try and get ready for Arizona's Week 1 opener against the Chargers. He's going to need to practice in some fashion next week to have a chance to play Sunday, Sept. 13, and even then Love is still likely to split carries with Tyler Allgeier versus Los Angeles.

Love (ankle) was spotted at Tuesday's practice but wasn't suited up, Theo Mackie of The Arizona Republic reports.
Love has been tending to a high-ankle sprain since the Cardinals' first preseason game and hasn't practiced since. Coach Mike LaFleur told Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.com on Monday that Love is "progressing really well" toward being available for Week 1, but the rookie running back will need to mix into drills to begin to put questions about his status for the regular-season opener against the Chargers in the rearview mirror.

Love (ankle) is progressing well in his recovery and trending toward being available for Week 1, Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.com reports.
Love was forced to miss the Cardinals' final preseason game due to the high-ankle sprain he suffered earlier this month, but he continues to trend in the right direction. Head coach Mike LaFleur outlined Monday that the running back is "progressing really well," and that Love is expected to take another step up in his recovery. The Cardinals will take on the Chargers in Week 1 on Sunday, Sept. 13, and the rookie first-rounder appears to be on track to make his NFL regular-season debut that day.

Cardinals' Jeremiyah Love: Continues to progress
Love (ankle) did not play in Friday's preseason loss to the Packers, but per Cardinals team reporter Zach Gershman, he was able to work out prior to the game.
Love was able to get in some light work in Wednesday, and he appeared to be moving at a quicker pace a couple days later. It remains unclear if he will be ready to go when the Cardinals open their season against the Chargers on Sept. 13, but he will have just over two more weeks to work past the high-ankle sprain he picked up in the first preseason game.

Love (ankle) was spotted doing some light agility work with trainers ahead of Wednesday's practice, Theo Mackie of The Arizona Republic reports.
Love emerged from his only action of the preseason Aug. 13 with a high-ankle sprain that has sidelined him from practice and one exhibition in the meantime. While his ability to get in some work Wednesday is an encouraging step in his recovery, he's likely still some time away from mixing back into drills. Tyler Allgeier will continue to handle the bulk of the first-team RB reps until Love is healthy.

Cardinals' Jeremiyah Love: Remains sidelined by ankle issue
Coach Mike LaFleur said Monday that Love is progressing in his recovery from a high-ankle sprain but will remain sidelined this week, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
Love emerged from preseason Week 1 with an ankle injury that eventually was revealed to be severe enough to require a multi-week absence. While LaFleur relayed last Thursday that Love won't need surgery, the rookie third overall pick won't play again during exhibition season, meaning his next chance for game action is Sunday, Sept. 13 at the Chargers. If Love isn't able to go in the season opener, Tyler Allgeier likely will be Arizona's lead runner in that contest.
