Bears' Coby Bryant: Could return from IR later
The Bears placed Bryant (knee) on injured reserve Tuesday.
Courtney Cronin of ESPN.com reports general manager Ryan Poles stated the Bears will "remain flexible" on both Bryant and tight end Hayden Large (undisclosed) as they manage their injuries. Bryant will likely need to miss at least four months due to the knee surgery he underwent on Aug. 11. If the free safety recovers quickly, he could return to the team sometime in late December to help with a potential playoff push.

Bears' Coby Bryant: Out for 4-6 months after knee surgery
Bryant (knee) had surgery Friday and will be out for 4-to-6 months, Courtney Cronin of ESPN.com reports.
Chicago's prized offseason signing on defense now seems more likely than not to miss the entire regular season. The Bears reportedly have some hope that Bryant can return for Week 18 or the playoffs, but it's not something the team can count on as they prepare for the campaign ahead. With Bryant unavailable, Xavier Woods and Cam Lewis (leg) are the top candidates to step up at safety alongside first-round pick Dillon Thieneman.

Bears' Coby Bryant: Slated for 8-to-10-week absence
Bryant is in line to miss 8-to-10 weeks after he suffered a hyperextended left knee, bone bruise and small fracture during Monday's practice, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports
The Bears suffered a scare early in training camp when one of their big offseason signings was carted off the field, and while he won't require surgery, his absence may include the first month of the regular season. A 2022 fourth-round pick of the Seahawks, he spent his first four pro campaigns in Seattle, surpassing 66 tackles three times while racking up seven interceptions over the past two years.

Bears' Coby Bryant: Suffers apparent knee injury
Bryant was carted off the field with an apparent knee injury Monday, Adam Hoge of AllCHGO.com reports.
Chicago is expected to provide an update on Bryant's status in the near future. The 27-year-old defensive back, who signed a three-year, $40 million deal this offseason, was in line to be the team's starting safety entering training camp. Bryant is coming off a 2025 campaign with the reigning champion Seahawks where he recorded 66 tackles, four interceptions and one forced fumble across 15 regular-season games.
