Cam Phillips: Doesn't make cut in Carolina
The Panthers waived Phillips on Saturday, David Newton of ESPN.com reports.
Phillips was a star in the XFL, leading the league in receptions (31), receiving yards (455) and touchdowns (nine) through just five contests. The 24-year-old wideout couldn't make a quick transition to the NFL, though, but if he clears waivers, he could be a valuable practice squad player.

Panthers' Cam Phillips: Rejoins P.J. Walker in Carolina
Phillips agreed to a contract Wednesday with the Panthers, Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle reports.
Phillips will be reunited in Carolina with quarterback P.J. Walker, who also played for the Houston Roughnecks in the XFL this past spring. The Walker-to-Phillips connection was the deadliest quarterback/wideout combination in the league, with the 25-year-old Phillips leading the XFL in catches (31), receiving yards (455) and touchdowns (nine) over his five games. Despite that impressive production, Phillips will have a tough time earning a roster spot after joining Carolina midway through training camp.

Bills' Cam Phillips: Roster shot in 2019
Phillips was signed to a reserve futures contract Monday, Chris Brown of the Bills' official site reports.
Phillips, an undrafted free agent, bounced around with the Bills in 2018 between the practice squad, the active roster (he played in two games) and being waived from the team, but the Virginia Tech product will be given a shot to make the team this summer. The Bills don't have many proven options at wide receiver, but they have a large amount of cap money to spend and will address the position with a lot more than Phillips this offseason.

Cam Phillips: Let go by Buffalo
Phillips was waived by the Bills on Monday, Mike Rodak of ESPN.com reports.
Someone had to go after Terrelle Pryor was added to the mix last week and the Bills wanted to pick up Isaiah McKenzie on Monday, so it was likely between Phillips and sixth-round rookie Ray-Ray McCloud. Given that neither has shown the Bills much so far and Phillips is the undrafted one of the two, he would have been our guess to go too.
