Eagles' Dallas Goedert: No preseason action
Goedert didn't see any action during the Eagles' three-game preseason slate.
The Eagles rested all of their key starters for the three exhibitions. Now 31 years old, Goedert is a veteran who doesn't necessarily need to play in meaningless preseason games. With A.J. Brown now in New England, Goedert is expected to have a big red-zone role for Philadelphia this season after he set a career high with 11 touchdown grabs on 60 catches last season. It will be difficult for Goedert to replicate that astounding touchdown rate, but he's very much in the TE1 mix for fantasy.

Eagles' Dallas Goedert: Rested for preseason opener
Goedert didn't play in Saturday's 24-7 preseason loss to the Ravens.
Goedert and other key starters were rested for the preseason opener. Rookie second-round pick Eli Stowers caught all three of his targets for 12 yards, and the Eagles got their first look at the rookie second-round pick in a game situation. Stowers is unlikely to challenge Goedert for the top spot on the depth chart out of the gate, and Goedert has a clear path to heavy red-zone involvement following the offseason departure of A.J. Brown. Goedert led the Eagles with 11 receiving touchdowns during the 2025 regular season, but he had only 24 touchdown catches over the previous seven regular seasons combined.

Eagles' Dallas Goedert: Could see added targets
Goedert's role could expand in 2026 after the Eagles traded A.J. Brown to New England, Glenn Erby of USA Today reports.
Goedert re-signed with Philadelphia via a one-year, $7 million deal this offseason and is coming off a productive 2025 campaign in which he drew 82 targets across 15 regular-season games. The veteran tight end finished with 591 receiving yards and a career-high 11 touchdowns, emerging as one of the team's top red-zone threats. Alongside DeVonta Smith and rookie first-round pick Makai Lemon (undisclosed), Goedert projects as one of the primary beneficiaries of Brown's departure. Dontayvion Wicks, Hollywood Brown and Elijah Moore are also expected to compete for a larger share of the passing game.
