Bears' Austin Booker: In jeopardy to miss Week 1
Head coach Ben Johnson told reporters Friday that Booker is going to be out for "a few weeks" due to a knee injury, Sean Hammond of the Chicago Tribune reports.
Booker suffered the injury during the Bears' second preseason game against the Bills, which prevented him from playing against the Chiefs on Friday. The 2024 fifth-rounder is projected to serve in a rotational role at defensive end behind Montez Sweat and Dayo Odeyingbo. Dominique Robinson (ankle), Tanoh Kpassagnon and Daniel Hardy would be candidates to step into a backup role on the Bears' defensive line if Booker cannot suit up in Week 1 against the Vikings on Monday, Sept. 8.

Bears' Tremaine Edmunds: Nursing soft-tissue injury
Head coach Ben Johnson said Friday that Edmunds is working through a soft-tissue injury that isn't a long-term concern, Jason Lieser of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.
Edmunds did not play in the Bears' preseason finale against the Chiefs on Friday due to the injury, but he doesn't appear to be in jeopardy of missing Chicago's Week 1 contest against Minnesota on Monday, Sept. 8. He played a career-high 1,016 defensive snaps across 17 regular-season games in 2024 and finished with 110 tackles (60 solo), including 1.0 sacks, eight pass defenses (one interception) and one forced fumble.

Bears' Miles Boykin: One grab in win
Boykin recorded an eight-yard reception in the Bears' 29-27 preseason win over the Chiefs on Friday.
Boykin has had a strong camp for the Bears, placing him on the roster bubble as the team looks to set its 53-man roster. Despite his solid play in August, Boykin will likely settle in as the No. 6 receiver if he makes the team.

Bears' Rome Odunze: Star on offense Friday
Odunze finished with three receptions on five targets for 45 yards and a touchdown in Friday's preseason win over Kansas City.
Odunze showed marked improvement over his catchless outing last week with Friday's team-leading performance. The 2024 first-round pick caught QB Caleb Williams' only passing touchdown while also finishing with Chicago's longest reception (37 yards). Odunze will attempt to build off of a modest 54-734-3 receiving line as a rookie when the Bears kick off the regular season against the Vikings on Sept. 8.

Bears' D'Andre Swift: Gains 34 yards in preseason debut
Swift rushed seven times for 28 yards with one reception for six yards in Friday's 29-27 preseason win over the Chiefs.
Swift made his 2025 preseason debut Friday after sitting out an additional game against Buffalo last week. The 26-year-old moved the ball well on eight touches as he prepares to lead Chicago's backfield for the second consecutive campaign. Swift generated 1,345 yards from scrimmage and six touchdowns in 17 regular-season starts last year, numbers he could easily reproduce with a clean bill of health in 2025.

Bears' DJ Moore: Gains 14 yards Friday
Moore brought in his lone target for 14 receiving yards in Friday's 29-27 preseason win over the Chiefs.
Moore made his second appearance with the starting offense this preseason, making a nice grab after securing two balls in last week's exhibition. Fantasy managers should expect more production from the talented wideout once the regular season kicks off, especially in an overhauled offense led by head coach Ben Johnson. A clean bill of health should result in the fifth 1,000-yard receiving season of Moore's career after falling just short of that mark last year in QB Caleb Williams' rookie season.

Bears' Caleb Williams: Another encouraging effort
Williams completed 11 of 15 pass attempts for 113 yards and a touchdown while taking two carries for 18 yards in Friday's 29-27 preseason win over Kansas City.
Williams carried the momentum over from his impressive preseason debut into Friday's exhibition finale where he dialed up Rome Odunze for a touchdown late in the first half. Chicago's offense sputtered out of the gates with a pair of punts, but Williams was unfazed and finished with another encouraging performance with Week 1 just around the corner. Expectations will be high for Williams when his sophomore season officially kicks off on Sept. 8 against the Vikings, after the organization signed the hottest head coaching free agent in Ben Johnson and surrounded the signal-caller with a talented supporting cast.

Bears' Kyler Gordon: Returns to practice
Gordon (hamstring) participated in Chicago's practice Wednesday, Adam Jahns of AllCHGO.com reports.
Though he didn't practice during team periods, Gordon is close to being at full health after having suffered a hamstring injury in practice earlier this month and is expected to serve as the team's starting slot cornerback once the regular season begins.

Bears' Deion Hankins: Lands on IR
Hankins (shoulder/quadriceps) was placed on injured reserve Wednesday, Adam Hoge of AllCHGO.com reports.
Hankins appeared to injure both his shoulder and quadriceps during the Bears' preseason game against the Bills on Sunday. By being placed on IR, he'll be forced to miss the entire 2025 season unless he reaches an injury settlement with the Bears.
