  • Sabres' Ryan McLeod: Produces goal Tuesday

McLeod scored a goal in Tuesday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Blue Jackets. McLeod is on a four-game point streak, earning a goal and four assists in that span. The second-line center has three tallies, seven points, 11 shots on net, six blocked shots and a minus-1 rating over 10 appearances this season. He's logged a shot on goal in just five contests so far, though he is not known for being a high-volume shooter after scoring 20 goals on just 97 shots in 2024-25.

  • Sabres' Ryan McLeod: Distributes two helpers

McLeod notched two assists and two blocked shots in Wednesday's 4-2 win over the Red Wings. McLeod has four points through seven contests, but they've come in a pair of two-point performances. His effort Wednesday saw him set up a Jack Quinn power-play tally at 4:15 of the third period before feeding Josh Doan at even strength a few minutes later. McLeod has added nine shots on net, six blocks and a minus-2 rating this season while filling a second-line role at even strength. He'll need to show more offensive consistency to be an option for fantasy managers. However, he's worth a look if that happens, considering his 20-goal, 53-point campaign in 2024-25.

  • Sabres' Ryan McLeod: Lights lamp twice in win

McLeod scored two goals, one shorthanded, in Wednesday's 8-4 win over the Senators. The 26-year-old center took advantage of an Ottawa turnover to pocket a shortie in the second period that tied the game at 2-2, then McLeod snapped home an insurance tally early in the third. The goals were his first points in four games to begin the campaign, but he's been seeing a consistent shift on the second power-play unit along with his middle-six duties at even strength and spot on the penalty kill. McLeod delivered a career-high 20 goals and 53 points in 79 regular-season games in 2024-25, and that level of production seems repeatable this season.

  • Sabres' Ryan McLeod: Locked in with Buffalo

McLeod signed a four-year, $20 million contract with the Sabres, the team announced Tuesday. McLeod entered the free agency period as one of a few key restricted free agents that the Sabres had yet to lock in, so this is a big piece of business to get done. After being acquired by Buffalo from Edmonton in July 2024, the 25-year-old had, by far, his best season as a pro, posting 20 goals and 33 assists across 79 games. With his new contract in hand, the 6-foot-3 pivot will continue to play an important middle-six role with the Sabres.

  • Sabres' Ryan McLeod: Reaches 20-goal mark

McLeod scored an empty-net goal on five shots and added two assists in Thursday's 5-4 win over the Flyers. McLeod earned a point in each period, setting up linemates Jack Quinn and JJ Peterka before burying his empty-netter. That proved to be a vital insurance goal, as the Flyers brought the game back within one a few seconds after McLeod scored. It was a career year across the board for McLeod -- his 53 points matched his combined total from the previous two seasons. He ends with 20 goals, 33 helpers, 97 shots on net and a plus-13 rating across 79 appearances. He'll need a new contract as a restricted free agent this summer, and he's likely due a big raise from his previous $2.1 million cap hit.

  • Sabres' Ryan McLeod: Puts away empty-netter

McLeod scored a shorthanded empty-net goal on two shots and went plus-2 in Tuesday's 5-2 win over the Senators. McLeod is up to three goals and seven assists over his last six contests. The 25-year-old has emerged as a reliable all-situations player in 2024-25, with more shorthanded points (five) than power-play points (two). He's at 19 goals, 48 points, 85 shots on net, 33 blocked shots and a plus-14 rating through 71 outings overall.

  • Sabres' Ryan McLeod: Lights lamp Sunday

McLeod scored a goal, had two PIM and blocked two shots in Sunday's 8-5 win over Washington. McLeod's goal early in the second period gave the Sabres a 2-1 lead. The 25-year-old center has been elite as of late with 16 points in his last 13 games. During this stretch, McLeod has seen a significant increase to his power-play time and has notched his first two points with the man advantage this season. Overall, he has 18 goals and 47 points across 70 appearances this year. McLeod has thrived in his first season with the Sabres and is just three points away from reaching the 50-point mark for the first time in his five-year career. He should be available on waivers in most fantasy formats and has proven value that can benefit rosters for the rest of the season.

  • Sabres' Ryan McLeod: Three helpers in loss

McLeod picked up three assists, one on the power play and one shorthanded, in Saturday's 7-4 loss to the Flyers. The 25-year-old center collected a helper in each period in addition to one in each situation. McLeod has been hot in March, and over the last 12 games, he's produced three goals and 15 points. With 10 games left on the schedule for the Sabres, McLeod sits three tallies shy of his first career 20-goal campaign, and four points away from reaching 50 for the first time.

  • Sabres' Ryan McLeod: Generates two helpers in loss

McLeod registered two assists in Thursday's 6-5 loss to the Lightning. McLeod set up goals by Rasmus Dahlin and Peyton Krebs in the first period. The 25-year-old McLeod has had occasional top-six chances this season and led all Sabres forwards with 21:38 of ice time Thursday, but he was listed on the third line to start the game. He's now at 33 points, including career highs in goals (14) and assists (19) while adding 60 shots on net and a plus-9 rating through 58 appearances.

  • Sabres' Ryan McLeod: Pockets helper Saturday

McLeod logged an assist and went plus-2 in Saturday's 6-4 loss to the Predators. McLeod helped out on Rasmus Dahlin's tally in the first period. With four points over his last five games, McLeod is doing pretty well while handling a top-six role in recent contests. The 25-year-old led the Sabres' forwards with 21:09 of ice time Saturday. He's at 28 points -- two shy of matching his career high from 81 regular-season outings with the Oilers last year -- and he's added 54 shots on net, 23 blocked shots and a plus-10 rating over 51 appearances in 2024-25.

  • Sabres' Ryan McLeod: Opens scoring Friday

McLeod scored a goal and went minus-2 in Friday's 4-3 win over the Predators. McLeod opened the scoring just 2:25 into the first period. The 25-year-old forward has a point in each of the last two contests. He's centering the third line, so his offense may not be very steady unless he's able to work his way back into the top six on a regular basis. For the season, the center has 11 goals, 26 points, 52 shots on net and a plus-5 rating over 48 appearances. McLeod is four points shy of matching his career-best output from 81 regular-season outings with the Oilers last year.

  • Sabres' Ryan McLeod: Draws helper in win

McLeod produced an assist and two shots on goal in Tuesday's 7-2 win over the Bruins. McLeod set up a Tage Thompson tally in the second period. This was McLeod's second game back from missing three contests due to an upper-body injury. Just before the injury, he was moved up to the first line, but he's played on the third line since his return, so his fantasy value is likely to remain fairly low. For the season, the 25-year-old center has 10 goals, 15 helpers, 51 shots on net and a plus-7 rating over 47 appearances.

  • Sabres' Ryan McLeod: Lands on IR

McLeod (upper body) was placed on injured reserve Saturday. Buffalo recalled netminder Devon Levi from AHL Rochester in a corresponding move. McLeod will miss at least the next three games, starting with Monday's matchup versus Seattle. He has accounted for 10 goals and 24 points in 45 appearances this season.

  • Sabres' Ryan McLeod: Earns hat trick in unique way

McLeod scored three goals, took three shots on net, added two PIM, blocked two shots and went plus-3 in Wednesday's 4-2 win over the Hurricanes. McLeod's third goal was awarded after he was interfered with while going for an empty-netter. There was some question after the contest if the goal belonged to McLeod or Tage Thompson, but it was eventually officially ruled to go to McLeod, giving him a hat trick. The 25-year-old has a pair of three-point efforts over his last three outings, and he's up to 10 goals, 24 points, 47 shots on net, 21 blocked shots and a plus-7 rating over 44 appearances.

  • Sabres' Ryan McLeod: Gathers assist in loss

McLeod put up an assist in Tuesday's 4-2 loss to the Stars. McLeod has been on the fourth line lately, but it looks like he's getting more comfortable with that role. He has a helper in three of the last four contests, and while he's gone 20 games without a goal, he has six assists over his last 11 outings. For the season, the 25-year-old center has produced six goals, 12 assists, 35 shots on net and an even plus-minus rating across 38 appearances.

  • Sabres' Ryan McLeod: Ends dry spell with helper

McLeod notched an assist and two PIM in Monday's 7-1 win over the Islanders. McLeod ended a four-game slump with the helper. The 25-year-old forward has four assists over his last eight outings, but he hasn't scored a goal since Nov. 16. The center has 16 points, 32 shots on net and a plus-2 rating over 35 appearances, featuring primarily in the Sabres' bottom six. Despite the recent slowdown on offense, he remains on pace to surpass the career-high 30 points he produced with the Oilers in the 2023-24 regular season.

  • Sabres' Ryan McLeod: Expected to play

McLeod (undisclosed) is expected to be in the lineup for Friday's game versus the Maple Leafs, Lance Lysowski of The Buffalo News reports. McLeod was considered a game-time decision, but it looks like he'll center the fourth line in this contest. He has not missed a game this year, racking up 15 points over 32 appearances. Nicolas Aube-Kubel is expected to serve as a healthy scratch.

  • Sabres' Ryan McLeod: Questionable Friday

McLeod (undisclosed) will be a game-time decision versus Toronto on Friday, Paul Hamilton of WGR Sports Radio 550 reports. McLeod is one of the few bright spots for the Sabres this season as the 25-year-old former Oiler has six goals and 15 points with a plus-1 rating across 32 games this season. Should McLeod be unable to play, look for Sam Lafferty (lower body) to return to the lineup.

  • Sabres' Ryan McLeod: Two-point effort Monday

McLeod dished two assists in Monday's 6-5 shootout loss to the Red Wings. The former Oiler had a hand in a pair of Jason Zucker tallies, snapping a nine-game point drought for McLeod. Prior to the slump, he'd racked up six goals and 12 points in the previous 15 games, and the streaky 25-year-old is still on track for a career-best season with 14 points in 28 contests.

  • Sabres' Ryan McLeod: Scores in loss to Flyers

McLeod scored a goal in Saturday's 5-2 loss to the Flyers. McLeod found the back of the net in the dying stages of the third period, but his goal wasn't enough to spark a comeback. The playmaker has only two goals in eight appearances in November but has found a way to stay productive, notching points in five of those eight contests while dishing five assists over that span.
