Perets made a relief appearance against Florida on Saturday, surrendering one goal on seven shots in a 6-0 loss. Due to injuries to Pyotr Kochetkov (concussion) and Frederik Andersen (knee), Perets occupied the backup role behind Spencer Martin. However, Kochetkov returned to practice Monday and could be ready to play in Tuesday's home game versus Seattle.

Perets was recalled to back up Spencer Martin on Saturday, though it appears Pyotr Kochetkov (undisclosed) will be available ahead of Sunday's matchup with St. Louis. The 24-year-old Perets is 1-2-0 with an .825 save percentage in the AHL this year.
Perets will start at home versus the Predators in Wednesday's preseason game, Walt Ruff of the Hurricanes' official site reports.
Perets will get the nod after Spencer Martin was placed on waivers Wednesday. Ultimately, both Martin and Perets are likely to begin 2024-25 with AHL Chicago. Perets played with ECHL Norfolk last year, going 18-11-3 with a 2.99 GAA and an .889 save percentage in 34 regular-season appearances and also made one NHL appearance when injuries impacted the Hurricanes' goaltending group.
