  • Rangers' Gabe Perreault: Headed for Hartford again

Perreault has been assigned to AHL Hartford by the Rangers, the team announced Sunday.

Perreault was brought up from the AHL in an attempt to spark the Rangers' struggling offense. The team scored 15 goals in the three games he suited up for, but the 20-year-old registered just one point, his first in the NHL, and a plus-2 rating. He'll head back to Hartford and look to continue to dominate and build on the 10 points (five goals, five assists) in nine games he has there so far.

  • Rangers' Gabe Perreault: Earns first NHL point

Perreault registered a power-play assist in Monday's 6-3 win over the Predators.

Perreault set up Alexis Lafreniere's goal in the second period. The helper was Perreault's first point over six NHL appearances, and it came in his season debut for the Rangers. The 20-year-old started the campaign at AHL Hartford and impressed with 10 points in nine outings. It's unclear how long he'll stick around with the big club, but Perreault is one of the Rangers' top prospects and will be put in positions that benefit his scoring instincts.

  • Rangers' Gabe Perreault: Back in NHL

Perreault has been recalled by the Rangers from AHL Hartford, the team announced Sunday.

Perreault didn't make the NHL roster out of camp in a bit of a surprise, but the 20-year-old will get another chance with the big club now. He has played well with AHL Hartford, notching five goals and five assists in nine games with a plus-7 rating. He's likely to slot right into the New York lineup and will try to provide a jolt to an offense currently sitting at 2.19 goals per game, tied for the worst mark in the league.

  • Rangers' Gabe Perreault: Three-point showing in AHL win

Perreault scored a goal on three shots and added two assists in AHL Hartford's 4-1 win over Charlotte on Wednesday.

Perreault has three goals and four assists over seven games with the Wolf Pack. With that kind of production, it's fair to wonder how much longer the Rangers will want to keep him in the minors, given the team's scoring woes this year. Matt Rempe (upper body) is out indefinitely, and if he goes on injured reserve, Perreault's name should come up in discussions for a corresponding call-up. The Rangers could also look at Justin Dowling as a more veteran option, while Brett Berard is a younger player with more experience than Perreault.

  • Rangers' Gabe Perreault: Demoted to AHL

Perreault was reassigned to AHL Hartford on Friday.

Perreault was thought to have a good chance at making the Rangers' roster out of training camp, but it was decided that he needed some time at the minor-league level. Perreault was selected 23rd overall in the 2023 NHL Draft and signed his entry-level deal in March after leaving Boston College. He managed 16 goals and 32 assists in 37 NCAA games in 2024-25. Look for Perreault to see some NHL action this season.

  • Rangers' Gabe Perreault: Signs entry-level contract

Perreault signed a three-year, entry-level contract with the Rangers on Monday.

Perreault had a productive sophomore season at Boston College this year, recording 16 goals and 32 assists over 37 appearances, and he's slated to join the Rangers after signing his entry-level deal. The 19-year-old was selected by the Blueshirts with the 23rd overall pick in the 2023 NHL Entry Draft, and he's expected to see some playing time in the closing weeks of the regular season, as the Rangers hope that he'll be able to provide a boost as they compete for a postseason berth.

  • Rangers' Gabe Perreault: Soaring with Eagles

Perreault has notched 10 goals and 25 assists in 26 games for Boston College this season.

Perreault currently leads the team with 35 points in his sophomore campaign. Drafted with the 23rd overall pick by the Rangers in 2023, the 19-year-old winger could be in contention for a spot in the NHL next year -- though another season in college might further his long-term development.
