Flyers' Oliver Bonk: Progressing in recovery
General manager Daniel Briere said Monday that Bonk (upper body) is progressing in his recovery, Charlie O'Connor of PHLY Sports reports.
Bonk was held out of training camp due to his upper-body injury, but his recovery process has been fairly slow. However, Briere said that Bonk is now progressing well, and the team is approaching the process cautiously in an attempt to avoid a setback. Briere declined to provide a timetable for Bonk's return Monday, so it doesn't seem as though the 20-year-old is particularly close to making his season debut.

Flyers' Oliver Bonk: Set to miss two more weeks
The Flyers announced Wednesday that Bonk (upper body) will be sidelined for approximately two more weeks.
Bonk continues to deal with an upper-body injury that has sidelined him since the start of training camp, and he'll miss at least the beginning of the regular season. The 20-year-old hasn't made his NHL debut yet, and he'll likely head to AHL Lehigh Valley to shake off some rust once he's healthy.

The Flyers indicated earlier this week that Bonk is dealing with an upper-body injury, and it wasn't clear whether he'd be cleared for contact by the start of training camp. It appears as though he'll have some limitations to begin camp, but his day-to-day designation suggests that his injury is considered relatively minor. Bonk was selected 22nd overall in the 2023 Draft. The London blueliner had 24 goals and 67 points in 60 OHL regular-season games in 2023-24, and followed up with seven goals and 16 points in 18 playoff games. Bonk has played the last two seasons with Canada at the World U20 Championships, picking up a goal and an assist in five games at the 2025 tourney.
