Penguins' Sergei Murashov: Tagged with OT loss Saturday
Murashov stopped 18 of 21 shots in Saturday's 3-2 overtime loss to the Kraken.
Murashov entered this game with a 1-1-0 record while recording one shutout, a 1.53 GAA and a .932 save percentage across three appearances in his first NHL campaign. He wasn't able to maintain the strong start here, but ups and downs are common among young goaltenders. Murashov should return to his No. 2 role when the Penguins take on the Sabres on Wednesday, allowing Arturs Silovs to return to his regular role between the pipes.

Penguins' Sergei Murashov: Set to face Seattle
Murashov will tend the home twine Saturday against the Kraken, Penguins play-by-play announcer Josh Getzoff reports.
Murashov will play for a second straight contest after replacing Arturs Silovs in goal during Friday's 5-0 loss to Minnesota. The 21-year-old Murashov is 1-1-0 with one shutout, a 1.53 GAA and a .932 save percentage across three appearances in his first NHL campaign. Saturday's matchup is the first half of a back-to-back for the Kraken, so they have the rest advantage for this cross-conference clash.

Penguins' Sergei Murashov: Makes 10 saves in relief
Murashov made 10 saves on 11 shots in relief during Friday's 5-0 loss to the Wild.
Murashov made his season debut on Nov. 9 in a loss to the Kings, though he posted an .889 save percentage in that defeat. The 21-year-old has shown promise in his first three appearances with Pittsburgh, going 1-1-0 with a 1.53 GAA and a .932 save percentage. With Tristan Jarry (lower body) on injured reserve, Murashov should continue to see playing time as Arturs Silovs' backup, which is especially true given the latter's recent struggles.

Penguins' Sergei Murashov: Posts shutout in Sweden
Murashov saved all 21 shots on goal in Sunday's 4-0 shutout win over the Predators.
Murashov followed up his solid debut with a stellar performance that included five saves on the penalty kill to help lift the Penguins over the Predators. With the shutout, the 21-year-old netminder has a 1-1-0 record with just three goals allowed on 48 shots across the first two appearances of his career. He has filled in admirably so far while Tristan Jarry (lower body) has been sidelined. Regardless of whether Murashov is sent back to AHL Wilkes-Barre/Scranton once Jarry returns, he should grab a few more starts at the NHL level to showcase his skills. For now, Murashov is a solid spot start with the right matchup in fantasy.

Penguins' Sergei Murashov: Starting Sunday
Murashov will patrol the home crease in Sunday's Global Series matchup against Nashville in Sweden, Penguins play-by-play announcer Josh Getzoff reports.
Murashov made 24 saves in a 3-2 loss to the Kings last Sunday in his NHL debut. He has posted a 5-2-0 record with a 1.73 GAA and a .931 save percentage through seven appearances with AHL Wilkes-Barre/Scranton this season. Nashville ranks 31st in the league with 2.53 goals per game this campaign.

Penguins' Sergei Murashov: Loses battle in debut
Murashov stopped 24 of 27 shots in Sunday's 3-2 loss to the Kings.
Murashov's NHL debut came down to the final 10 minutes before he allowed the game-winning goal to Kevin Fiala. As he kept the Penguins in front through the second period, Murashov might have done enough to earn more looks between the pipes moving forward. With the team's starting goaltender Tristan Jarry set to miss time with a lower-body injury, Murashov will likely occupy the backup role while Arturs Silovs sees the largest bump in playing time. Murashov remains off the fantasy radar for the time being, but that could change if he picks up a win in Jarry's absence.

Murashov will make his NHL debut in the second half of Pittsburgh's back-to-back after Arturs Silovs played in Saturday's 2-1 shootout loss to New Jersey. The 21-year-old Murashov has posted a 5-2-0 record with a 1.73 GAA and a .931 save percentage through seven appearances with AHL Wilkes-Barre/Scranton this season. Penguins' Sergei Murashov: Posts first shutout
Murashov recorded a 25-save shutout in AHL Wilkes-Barre/Scranton's 4-0 win over Charlotte on Friday.
Murashov is now 5-0-0 on the year with a 1.40 GAA and a .949 save percentage through five starts. This was the second shutout of his AHL career in 21 appearances. The 21-year-old netminder will have to wait for an absence for Tristan Jarry or Arturs Silovs, but he's knocking on the door of the NHL with his dominant play with the Baby Pens.

Penguins' Sergei Murashov: Remains undefeated this season
Murashov stopped 26 of 27 shots in AHL Wilkes-Barre/Scranton's 4-1 win over Lehigh Valley on Wednesday.
Through four starts, Murashov is 4-0-0 with a 1.75 GAA and a .938 save percentage. The 21-year-old goalie will look to continue playing well in the minors to position himself for a call-up should the Penguins need reinforcements in goal at the NHL level. Overall, he's gone 16-3-1 in his first 20 AHL contests, but he'll have to continue biding his time as long as Tristan Jarry and Arturs Silovs play well enough with the big club.

Murashov was outstanding in preseason action, posting a 2-0-1 record with a 1.71 GAA and a .935 save percentage across three appearances. He outplayed Tristan Jarry and Arturs Silovs in training camp and could get an early recall if Jarry and Silovs flounder in the early going.
