Top Jesper Bratt News

  • Devils' Jesper Bratt: Hits 450-point plateau

Bratt scored a shorthanded goal Saturday in a 5-3 win over the Lightning.

The goal stood as the winner. He got the puck and took off on a breakaway, beating Andrei Vasilevskiy at 4:48 of the third period. Bratt reached 450 NHL points (152 goals, 298 assists; 554 games) with the goal. He has topped 80 points in the last two regular seasons, and barring injury, should replicate that production with ease.

  • Devils' Jesper Bratt: Two points Thursday

Bratt supplied a goal, an assist and three hits in Thursday's 6-3 loss to the Hurricanes.

Although the Devils didn't get off to a good start in 2025-26, Bratt certainly picked up where he left off after a career-high 88 points last season. The Swedish winger set up Dougie Hamilton's game-tying goal in the second period, and Bratt also tied the score at 3-3 in the third, but that was the last of New Jersey's offense for the night. The 27-year-old Bratt is once again working in a top-line role and on the No. 1 power-play unit, and he should see plenty of opportunities again Saturday in Tampa Bay, as the Lightning gave up five goals to the Senators on Thursday.

  • Devils' Jesper Bratt: Feels healthy to begin camp

Bratt (shoulder) said Thursday that he feels 100 percent healthy to begin training camp, Amanda Stein of the Devils' official site reports.

Bratt underwent shoulder surgery in May that forced him to miss the 2025 IIHF World Championship, but he's fully available to begin training camp ahead of the NHL regular season. The 27-year-old has missed just one regular-season game across the past three seasons, and he logged 21 goals, 67 assists, 96 hits and 42 blocked shots while averaging 18:57 of ice time over 81 regular-season appearances last year.

  • Devils' Jesper Bratt: Undergoing shoulder surgery

Bratt (shoulder) will have offseason surgery but should be ready for the beginning of training camp in the fall, the Devils announced Monday.

Bratt will be unavailable to participate in the 2025 IIHF World Championship for Sweden, but he probably won't miss the beginning of the 2025-26 campaign. He amassed 21 goals, 88 points, 180 shots on net and 96 hits across 81 regular-season appearances in 2024-25. Bratt added one goal, two helpers, 20 shots on target, six hits and five blocks in five playoff outings during New Jersey's first-round defeat versus Carolina.

  • Devils' Jesper Bratt: Registers helper Friday

Bratt notched an assist and three shots on goal in Friday's 3-2 double-overtime win over the Hurricanes in Game 3.

Bratt has a goal, two helpers, nine shots and a minus-2 rating over three playoff contests after setting up a Dawson Mercer goal in Friday's win. The 26-year-old Bratt ended the regular season on a four-game slide, so this is a nice return to form for the winger. He should continue to see top-six minutes and power-play time.

  • Devils' Jesper Bratt: Scores in Game 2 loss

Bratt scored a goal on three shots and went minus-2 in Tuesday's 3-1 loss to the Hurricanes in Game 2.

Bratt has been involved in both of the Devils' goals in the series, though that's not an encouraging level of team production. The 26-year-old winger has added six shots on net, two hits and a minus-3 rating. He'll continue to function in the top six and on the first power-play unit, but the Devils will need to get more scoring overall to avoid being one-and-done for this playoff run.

  • Devils' Jesper Bratt: Sets up lone goal in Sunday's loss

Bratt notched an assist, three shots on goal and two hits in Sunday's 4-1 loss to the Hurricanes in Game 1.

Bratt set up a Nico Hischier tally late in the second period, but that was all the Devils could put on the board. Bratt had one game off at the end of the regular season for rest after going four contests without a point. The Devils have a tough first-round matchup, so they'll need Bratt to get back into the form that saw him rack up a career-high 88 points over 81 regular-season outings.

  • Devils' Jesper Bratt: Ready for playoffs

Bratt (rest) will play in Game 1 versus Carolina on Sunday, Amanda Stein of the Devils' official site reports.

Bratt sat out the final game of the regular season to avoid any chance of an injury. He set new career highs in assists (67) and points (88) across 81 regular-season games. He will serve on the top line, alongside Nico Hischier and Stefan Noesen, as well as the first power play.

  • Devils' Jesper Bratt: Won't play against Detroit

Bratt won't play in Wednesday's regular-season finale against the Red Wings due to rest purposes, Amanda Stein of the Devils' official site reports.

Bratt had appeared in each of the Devils' first 81 games of the season, and he put together a career-best year, logging 21 goals, 67 assists, 96 hits, 42 blocked shots and 18 PIM while averaging 18:57 of ice time. He'll get a breather to close out the regular season since New Jersey's playoff positioning has already been decided, but he should reclaim a prominent role once the postseason begins.

Bratt gave the Devils a 2-0 lead shortly after Timo Meier got the icebreaker during a New Jersey power play. Bratt recorded two assists, one on the power play, in Saturday's 5-2 win over the Wild.

The 26-year-old winger continues to add to his career-best campaign. Bratt has five multi-point performances in the last 10 games, a stretch in which he's racked up three goals and 16 points, and he needs four more points over the Devils' final seven contests to reach 90 for the first time.

  • Devils' Jesper Bratt: Two-point effort in win

Bratt notched two assists, one on the power play and one shorthanded, in Wednesday's 5-3 win over Chicago.

Both helpers came in the second period, as Bratt had a hand in Ondrej Palat's shortie and Dawson Mercer's eventual game-winner. Bratt has gotten onto the scoresheet in seven of the last eight games, erupting for three goals and 14 points over that span, and the 26-year-old has established a new career high with 84 points (20 goals, 64 assists) on the season.

  • Devils' Jesper Bratt: Draws power-play assist

Bratt logged a power-play assist and four shots on goal in Saturday's 3-2 loss to the Senators.

Bratt is on a tear with three goals and eight assists over his last six outings. Four of his helpers in that span have come with the man advantage, including the one that set up a Nico Hischier tally in this contest. Bratt is up to 81 points (31 on the power play), and he has added 158 shots on net, 82 hits and a plus-8 rating through 71 appearances as one of the Devils' most consistent forwards this season. His current hot stretch comes after a lull that saw him limited to two assists over six games between Feb. 26 and March 9.

  • Devils' Jesper Bratt: Gifted 20th goal of season

Bratt scored the game-winning goal in Monday's 2-1 win over the Blue Jackets.

Jet Greaves misplayed a puck behind the net midway through the second period, and it trickled out to Bratt to deposit into a wide-open cage. The goal was the 20th of the season for the 26-year-old winger, a mark he's reached in four straight campaigns, and Bratt has hit the 80-point plateau for the second straight season as well.

  • Devils' Jesper Bratt: Three helpers in Saturday's loss

Bratt notched three assists, two on the power play, in Saturday's 7-3 loss to the Penguins.

While the final score wasn't close, Bratt did help give the Devils some hope with power-play assists one minute apart early in the third period to nearly erase a 4-1 deficit. The 26-year-old winger has erupted for three straight three-point performances, and he's racing toward a career-best campaign thanks to a second-half surge that has seen him collect three goals and 21 points over 15 contests since the beginning of February.

  • Devils' Jesper Bratt: Another three-point performance

Bratt recorded one goal, two assists, three shots on goal and a plus-3 rating in Thursday's 3-2 win over the Oilers.

Jake Allen deserves a lot of praise for his work between the posts Thursday, but Bratt was immense on offense and was involved directly in each of the team's three goals. This was his third multi-point performance across his last five contests, a span in which he's racked up two goals and six helpers.

  • Devils' Jesper Bratt: Three points against Jackets

Bratt scored a goal and added two assists, one on the power play, in Tuesday's 5-3 win over Columbus.

The 26-year-old winger has been feast or famine since the 4 Nations Face-Off. Over nine games since the NHL schedule resumed, Bratt has four multi-point performances, but five goose eggs. Tuesday's goal was also his first since the break, and he remains on pace for a career-best campaign with 73 points (18 goals, 55 helpers) in 66 appearances.
