Sharks' Timothy Liljegren: Set to play Sunday
Liljegren (upper body) will be in the lineup against Detroit on Sunday, Max Miller of NHL.com reports.
Liljegren logged only 7:18 of ice time in Saturday's 3-2 overtime win over Colorado, but he won't miss additional action due to the injury. He has produced three assists, eight shots on net, 18 blocked shots and 10 hits across nine outings this season.

Sharks' Timothy Liljegren: Suffers upper-body injury
Liljegren exited Saturday's clash against Colorado because of an upper-body injury and won't return to the game.
Liljegren had no points in 7:20 of ice time before departing Saturday. That gives him three assists in nine outings this season, including the matchup against the Avalanche. If Liljegren isn't available for Sunday's tilt against Detroit, then Vincent Iorio might draw back into the lineup.

Sharks' Timothy Liljegren: Adds two helpers in win
Liljegren notched two assists, three shots on goal, three hits and a plus-3 rating in Thursday's 5-2 win over the Sharks.
Liljegren has earned all three of his assists over the last three contests. The 26-year-old had a hand in goals by Alex Wennberg and Tyler Toffoli in this game. Liljegren's power-play time tends to vary depending on if Sam Dickinson is in the lineup, and the Sharks have a decision to make since Dickinson has now played in nine games and will burn the first year of his entry-level deal if he makes a 10th appearance. If Dickinson is ultimately reassigned to his junior team, Liljegren's fantasy value would get a boost. Liljegren has added eight shots on net, 10 hits, 18 blocked shots and an even plus-minus rating through eight appearances.

Sharks' Timothy Liljegren: Supplies first assist
Liljegren notched an assist, three hits, two blocked shots and a plus-2 rating in Sunday's 6-5 overtime win over the Wild.
The helper was Liljegren's first point in six games this season. He's been over 20 minutes of ice time in five of those contests, including a season-high 27:28 on Sunday. Liljegren looks poised to spend most of his time this season in a top-four role with a chance to feature on a power-play unit. The 26-year-old has added five shots on net, 15 blocked shots, six hits and four PIM.

Sharks' Timothy Liljegren: Might travel with team
Liljegren (upper body) will probably join the Sharks on their upcoming four-game road trip, which begins Tuesday against the Islanders, Curtis Pashelka of The San Jose Mercury News reports Saturday.
Liljegren will miss his second straight game when the Sharks face Pittsburgh on Saturday. It remains unclear when he will be able to return to the lineup, and he will need to come off injured reserve first. He has no points, a minus-2 rating, two PIM, one shot, three hits and 10 blocks in three outings this year. Liljegren might serve in San Jose's top four once he's available.

Sharks' Timothy Liljegren: Placed on injured reserve
The Sharks placed Liljegren (upper body) on injured reserve Thursday, Curtis Pashelka of The San Jose Mercury News reports.
Liljegren was considered questionable for Friday's game against Utah due to his upper-body injury, and he's now facing a multi-game absence after landing on injured reserve. Over his first three appearances of the regular season, he was held scoreless with 10 blocked shots, three hits, two PIM and a minus-2 rating while averaging 20:14 of ice time. Sam Dickinson and Vincent Desharnais are candidates to draw into the lineup in Liljegren's absence.

Sharks' Timothy Liljegren: Questionable for Friday
Liljegren (upper body) is questionable for Friday's tilt against Utah, per Sheng Peng of San Jose Hockey Now on Wednesday.
Liljegren has no points, one shot, two PIM, three hits and 10 blocks in three appearances with San Jose this year. John Klingberg (lower body) is also questionable Friday, so Vincent Desharnais and Shakir Mukhamadullin might both draw into the lineup.

Sharks' Timothy Liljegren: Collects pair of assists
Liljegren notched two assists and a plus-2 rating in Wednesday's 8-7 overtime loss to the Wild.
Liljegren has three helpers over his last two games and five assists in his last eight outings. The 25-year-old defenseman could be set for more ice time if Mario Ferraro (undisclosed) ends up missing games after exiting Wednesday's contest early. Liljegren has 17 points, 98 shots on net, 103 blocked shots, 57 hits, 34 PIM and a minus-91 rating over 64 contests between the Sharks and the Maple Leafs in 2024-25.

Sharks' Timothy Liljegren: Two helpers against old team
Liljegren notched two assists, five shots on goal, four blocked shots and a plus-2 rating in Thursday's 6-5 shootout win over the Maple Leafs.
Liljegren had no trouble getting fired up to play against his former team, putting in one of his best performance of the season. He helped out on goals by Tyler Toffoli and Alexander Wennberg. Liljegren is at 14 points, 91 shots on net, 87 blocked shots, 53 hits, 32 PIM and a minus-15 rating over 57 appearances between the Sharks and the Maple Leafs this season, though all of his offense has been with San Jose. He continues to handle a bottom-four role.

Sharks' Timothy Liljegren: Three points in last three games
Liljegren had a goal and an assist in a 6-2 victory over Buffalo on Tuesday.
The defender has two goals and an assist in his last three games after going 15 outings without a goal (one assist). Liljegren hasn't exactly taken off offensively since he arrived in San Jose -- he has just six goals and six assists in 49 games. It's hard to tell if this little run is a sign of his game consolidating, or whether it's simply luck.

Sharks' Timothy Liljegren: Power-play marker in loss
Liljegren scored a power-play goal in a 5-3 loss to the Senators on Saturday.
He wired a one-timer from the post that beat Linus Ullmark. Liljegren has five goals, five assists and 71 shots in 47 games this season. Two of his goals have come on the power play. Liljegren's fantasy value is limited. He wouldn't be a top-pairing, PP2 defender in any other city, and when the team improves, he'll eventually drop down the lineup.

Sharks' Timothy Liljegren: Playing Thursday
Liljegren (upper body) will return to the lineup in Montreal on Thursday, Sheng Peng of San Jose Hockey Now reports.
Liljegren missed Tuesday's tilt in Winnipeg after he was injured in Calgary on Sunday. The former Toronto blueliner has four goals and five assists with 64 blocked shots across 44 appearances with the Sharks this season after playing one game with the Maple Leafs on Oct. 16.

Sharks' Timothy Liljegren: Game-time call for Thursday
Liljegren (upper body) is expected to be a game-time decision for Thursday's clash against Montreal, per Sheng Peng of San Jose Hockey Now on Wednesday.
Liljegren took part in Wednesday's morning skate. He did serve as the seventh blueliner during the 5-on-5 drills, but on a more positive note, Liljegren featured on the second power-play unit during the practice. The 25-year-old blueliner has four goals, nine points, 28 PIM, 47 hits and 66 blocks in 45 appearances between Toronto and San Jose this season.

Sharks' Timothy Liljegren: Unavailable Monday
Liljegren (upper body) won't play against Winnipeg on Monday, per Curtis Pashelka of The San Jose Mercury News.
Since being acquired from Toronto on Oct. 30, Liljegren has four goals, five assists, 68 shots on net, 64 blocked shots and 47 hits in 44 appearances with the Sharks. He is still being evaluated to determine a timeline for his return, but he will miss at least one game after suffering an injury in Sunday's 3-2 loss to Calgary. Due to Liljegren's absence, Marc-Edouard Vlasic will be in Monday's lineup.

Sharks' Timothy Liljegren: Departs Sunday's game
Liljegren (undisclosed) has been ruled out for the remainder of Sunday's game against the Flames.
Liljegren logged two shots on goal, one blocked shot and a minus-1 rating in 11:21 of ice time before exiting. The Sharks have a quick turnaround following Sunday's contest -- they'll face the Jets on Monday. If Liljegren is unable to play in that matchup, Marc-Edouard Vlasic will draw back into the lineup.

Sharks' Timothy Liljegren: Sends helper in loss
Liljegren notched an assist, two shots on goal, two blocked shots, two PIM and a plus-3 rating in Thursday's 6-5 loss to the Predators.
Liljegren ended his six-game point drought with the helper. He also missed one contest due to an illness in that span. The 25-year-old defenseman is up to nine points, 55 shots on net, 43 hits, 55 blocked shots, 24 PIM and a minus-10 rating over 38 appearances between the Sharks and the Maple Leafs this season. He has limited upside given his lack of offense, though he continues to see time on the Sharks' second pairing and second power-play unit.

Sharks' Timothy Liljegren: Practices Sunday
Liljegren (illness) participated in Sunday's practice, per Sheng Peng of San Jose Hockey Now.
Liljegren should be available for Monday's game against Boston after sitting out Saturday's 4-1 loss to the Islanders. Marc-Edouard Vlasic played through an illness in Saturday's defeat and skipped Sunday's practice. Still, Vlasic could play versus the Bruins on Monday. Henry Thrun might be a healthy scratch if Liljegren and Vlasic are in Monday's lineup.

Sharks' Timothy Liljegren: Out Saturday
Liljegren (illness) will miss Saturday's clash against the Islanders, according to Curtis Pashelka of The San Jose Mercury News.
Liljegren has four goals, eight points, 40 hits and 49 blocks in 35 appearances between Toronto and San Jose in 2024-25. Henry Thrun will likely draw into the lineup due to Liljegren's absence.

Sharks' Timothy Liljegren: Deposits power-play goal
Liljegren scored a power-play goal in Tuesday's 4-2 loss to the Golden Knights.
Liljegren ended a six-game slump with the tally, which was his first goal since Nov. 29. The 25-year-old defenseman was scratched Dec. 19, but he's been in the lineup for the eight games since, so it appears he's regained some security while Shakir Mukhamadullin and Marc-Edouard Vlasic battle for the last spot on the blue line. Liljegren has eight points, 51 shots on net, 39 hits, 42 blocked shots, 18 PIM and a minus-7 rating over 31 appearances between the Sharks and the Maple Leafs in 2024-25.
