His tallies in the second and third periods looked like they would just be insurance goals after the 'Canes had grabbed a 3-0 lead in the first frame, but some late offense by the visitors gave Blake his first GWG of the season. The 22-year-old winger snapped a six-game point drought with this performance, while the power-play point was his first since Oct. 16. Through 27 contests on the season, Blake has delivered eight goals and 18 points with 64 shots on net, 18 PIM and an even rating.

Blake scored twice on four shots in Wednesday's 4-3 shootout loss to the Wild.
Blake will probably miss the Wild now that the season series between the two teams is over -- he put up three goals and an assist in two games against Minnesota. The 22-year-old winger has three goals and four helpers over his last eight outings. For the season, he's up to six goals, 15 points, 49 shots, 14 PIM and a plus-5 rating through 20 appearances. Blake is firmly on the Hurricanes' second line, but a little more game-to-game consistency would go a long way to making him easy to trust in fantasy.

Hurricanes' Jackson Blake: Impressive performance in win
Blake had a goal and an assist in a 4-3 win over the Wild on Thursday.
Blake delivered the most impressive goal of the game. He finished an end-to-end rush with a snap shot past Filip Gustavsson's blocker to knot the game 1-1 in the first period. Even his coach, Rod Brind'Amour, was impressed: "Blake is probably the one who needs the most credit for tonight. The one goal was all him, and the other was just a great pass." Blake signed an eight-year, $45 million contract extension with the Hurricanes on Thursday, Walt Ruff of the Hurricanes' official site reports.
Blake is entering the final year of his entry-level contract in 2025-26, but his long-term future with the Hurricanes is now secure. The 21-year-old put up 17 goals, 34 points, 141 shots on net and a plus-10 rating over 80 regular-season appearances in 2024-25 and added six points in 15 playoff outings. He's already established himself as a regular in the top six and should also see time on the second power-play unit at a minimum. There's some risk of a sophomore slump this year, but Blake has a bright future ahead while playing for a perennial contender.
