Rempe (upper body) was placed on injured reserve Monday, per the NHL media site.
The Rangers recalled Connor Mackey from AHL Hartford in a corresponding move. Rempe is out indefinitely after being injured in a 6-5 overtime loss to the Sharks on Oct. 23. He has provided one goal, eight shots on net, 30 hits and seven PIM across nine appearances this season.

Rempe (upper body) didn't travel with the Rangers to Calgary ahead of Saturday's clash against the Flames, Colin Stephenson of Newsday reports.
Rempe is still being evaluated after suffering the upper-body injury during Thursday's 6-5 overtime loss to San Jose. If he's not with the team in Calgary, it seems reasonable to believe he'll also miss Tuesday's clash in Vancouver. It wouldn't be surprising if Rempe is also out for Thursday's game in Edmonton, but that's far enough in the future that there's still a chance he'll rejoin the team on the road by then. The 23-year-old has a goal, seven PIM and 30 hits in nine outings this year. Brennan Othmann might draw into the lineup due to Rempe's absence.

Rempe sustained an upper-body injury and won't return to Thursday's game against San Jose.
Rempe logged just 19 seconds of ice time before exiting the game, but he did receive a five-minute fighting major for sparring with San Jose's Ryan Reaves at 5:55 of the first period. Rempe got credit after for his first goal of the season in the early stages of the third period as the last player to touch a puck that went in on a net-front scramble. Rempe signed a two-year contract with the Rangers on Wednesday.
Rempe was eligible to become a restricted free agent this summer after completing his entry-level contract. The Rangers didn't disclose the financial terms of the deal, but it's expected to come with a $975,000 cap hit, according to Peter Baugh of The Athletic's source. Rempe had three goals, eight points, 67 PIM, 30 shots and 117 hits across 42 outings with the Rangers in 2024-25. The 22-year-old provides toughness, but not a lot else, and as a consequence of his somewhat limited game, Rempe is often a healthy scratch. The 22-year-old is likely to continue to spend a fair amount of games in the press box and might even see stints in the minors during the life of this contract.

Rempe was issued an eight-game suspension in late December for boarding and elbowing, and he's been out for the Rangers' last seven matchups.
