The Blue Jackets have been rotating their goaltenders this season, meaning Greaves got the nod here against St. Louis and Elvis Merzlikins will start the second leg of this back-to-back set against the Islanders on Sunday. Greaves has gone 3-3-0 this season but has won his last two starts, posting a solid .935 save percentage in that stretch. If the rotation between the pipes continues for Columbus, Greaves would be lined up to make his next start against the Flames on Wednesday.

This was Greaves' first really bad game of the season, though he ended up with his third loss in four starts. The 24-year-old allowed just one goal through two periods before the Capitals broke things open in the third. Greaves has alternated starts with Elvis Merzlikins early in the campaign, and that workload may continue throughout the year. However, the two goalies are expected to operate in a timeshare to open the season. Nonetheless, Greaves has breakout potential this season and is a top name to keep an eye on in fantasy. Thursday's performance is a strong building block for the 24-year-old moving forward.

Greaves will be reassigned to AHL Cleveland following Thursday's 6-1 win over the Islanders, Mark Scheig of The Hockey Writers reports.
Graves made a great case for himself late in the season, winning the Blue Jackets' last five games of the year. He allowed just four goals on 160 shots in that span, good for a .975 save percentage. He'll head down to Cleveland for the remainder of the Monsters' regular season and playoff run, but the 24-year-old has put himself in position for a spot on Columbus' 2025-26 roster, and potentially even the team's No. 1 job in net.
