Flyers' Samuel Ersson: Not available Thursday
Ersson (undisclosed) will not play Thursday versus Nashville, Charlie O'Connor of PHLY Sports reports.
Head coach Rick Tocchet said Wednesday that Ersson "tweaked something," and the issue will sideline the goaltender for at least one game. The 26-year-old netminder is 2-1-1 with a 3.08 GAA and an .876 save percentage in October. He has been replaced by Dan Vladar as the Flyers' top netminder. Philadelphia recalled Aleksei Kolosov in a corresponding move to back up Vladar on Thursday.

Flyers' Samuel Ersson: Lands on injured reserve
Ersson was placed on injured reserve due to a lower-body injury Thursday.
Ersson tweaked something during Wednesday's practice session, and he'll be forced to miss multiple games due to his injury. Dan Vladar should serve as the Flyers' primary netminder in Ersson's absence, while Aleksei Kolosov was recalled from AHL Lehigh Valley to provide additional depth.

Flyers' Samuel Ersson: Questionable for Thursday
Ersson is day-to-day after tweaking something, head coach Rick Tocchet told Jordan Hall of NBC Sports Philadelphia on Wednesday.
Ersson isn't expected to miss much time, but he's questionable for Thursday's home game against Nashville. The 26-year-old goaltender has a 2-1-1 record, 3.08 GAA and .876 save percentage in four appearances this season. Ersson has started in Philadelphia's last two games, and the Flyers won both of those clashes, so perhaps Philadelphia will utilize him in net again Thursday if he's healthy. In the scenario where Ersson is unavailable, then Dan Vladar will presumably get the start, and Philadelphia will recall a goaltender from the minors to serve as Vladar's understudy.

Flyers' Samuel Ersson: Second straight win
Ersson made 24 saves in a 3-2 shootout win over Pittsburgh on Tuesday.
The first goal snuck between Ersson's pad and the goal post in the first period, and the second was a pure fluke in the third frame. Sidney Crosby backhanded a pass from behind the net, but it hit Nick Seeler's shoulder and dropped in behind Ersson. The 26-year-old Ersson has now won two games in a row while allowing five goals after surrendering eight markers across two losses (0-1-1) to start the season. Ersson's game may be tightening up.

Flyers' Samuel Ersson: Gets starting nod versus Pens
Ersson will be between the pipes for Tuesday's home clash with Pittsburgh.
Ersson seems to have fallen behind Dan Vladar on the Flyers' depth chart but will be making consecutive starts for the first time this year. In his three outings this year, the 26-year-old Ersson is sporting a 1-1-1 record to go with an .861 save percentage. With an upcoming back-to-back, Ersson should get another start against either Toronto or Calgary on Saturday or Sunday, respectively.

Flyers' Samuel Ersson: Gets first win of season
Ersson made 23 saves in a 4-3 shootout win over the Islanders on Saturday.
Ersson earned his first win of the season to improve to 1-1-1. Simon Holmstrom beat him in the first while shorthanded, and Anthony Duclair tapped in a pass early in the second to drive the Isles up 2-0. Maxim Tsyplakov redirected a pass behind him early in the third. Holmstrom beat him again in the shootout. Ersson's 3.50 GAA should come down, and his .861 save percentage should go up, but fantasy managers shouldn't expect dramatic improvements based on his previous three seasons.

Flyers' Samuel Ersson: Tending twine Saturday
Ersson will patrol the home crease against the Islanders on Saturday.
Ersson allowed four goals in each of his previous two starts while making 45 total saves en route to a record of 0-1-1. The Islanders enter Saturday's afternoon matchup with 3.86 goals per game this season, which ranks fourth in the league.

Flyers' Samuel Ersson: Strafed by Jets
Ersson allowed four goals on just 14 shots in Thursday's 5-2 loss to Winnipeg, with the Jets' final goal getting scored into an empty net.
Both defenses were stingy, as the Flyers wound up outshooting the visitors 17-15 on the night, but Ersson was victimized by some bad zone clearances and bad bounces -- Morgan Barron's game-winner late in the second period caromed into the net after hitting Noah Cates in the back. Ersson has split the workload with Dan Vladar in the Philly crease so far, going 0-1-1 in two starts while giving up eight goals on 53 shots -- a far cry from Vladar's four goals allowed on 60 shots.

Flyers' Samuel Ersson: Facing Jets
Ersson will be between the home pipes versus Winnipeg on Thursday, Jordan Hall of NBC Sports Philadelphia reports.
Ersson is sharing the net with Dan Vladar in the early going. Ersson gave up four goals on 39 shots in a 4-3 overtime loss to Edmonton on Saturday. The Jets have scored 12 goals in three games this season.

Flyers' Samuel Ersson: Stuck with OT loss
Ersson made 35 saves in Saturday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Hurricanes.
He was by far the busier goalie, as Philly was out-shot 39-23 on the night, and all the regulation goals against Ersson came during a bumpy second period. The 25-year-old is duking it out with Dan Vladar for playing time in the crease this season, with the former Flame getting the nod in the Flyers' season opener Thursday, and it could be a while before the team has a clear No. 1 in net.

Flyers' Samuel Ersson: In goal Saturday
Ersson will patrol the visiting crease in Carolina on Saturday, per Jackie Spiegel of The Philadelphia Inquirer.
Ersson will make his season debut Saturday. He was 22-17-5 with a pair of shutouts, a 3.14 GAA and an .883 save percentage for the woeful Flyers in 2024-25.

Flyers' Samuel Ersson: Tending twine against Islanders
Ersson will serve as the starting netminder for Thursday's preseason game at home against the Islanders, Jordan Hall of NBC Sports Philadelphia reports.
In addition to drawing the start Thursday, Ersson is expected to play the full game against the Islanders. The 25-year-old will likely begin the campaign as the Flyers' No. 1 netminder once again, but he had a shaky performance last year, going 22-17-5 with a 3.14 GAA and .883 save percentage over 47 regular-season appearances.

Flyers' Samuel Ersson: Gets starting nod Saturday
Ersson will be between the home pipes versus Boston on Saturday, Bill Meltzer of the Flyers' official site reports.
Ersson was the Flyers' No. 1 goaltender in 2024-25, despite some inconsistent efforts. He posted a 22-17-5 mark with a 3.14 GAA and an .883 save percentage across 47 regular-season games. Look for Ersson to start 45-50 games in 2025-26, barring any serious injury.

Flyers' Samuel Ersson: Starting in Montreal
Ersson will defend the road net in preseason action against the Canadiens on Tuesday, Jordan Hall of NBC Sports Philadelphia reports.
Ersson is poised to stay in the crease for the entire game. He earned a 22-17-5 record with two shutouts, a 3.14 GAA and an .883 save percentage across 47 regular-season appearances in 2024-25.

Flyers' Samuel Ersson: Falls to Jackets on Tuesday
Ersson made 31 saves in Tuesday's 3-0 loss to the Blue Jackets.
The 25-year-old goalie got very little help from his teammates, and after Ersson kept Columbus off the board in the first period he couldn't do much to stop a Dante Fabbro blast from the top of the faceoff circle early in the second. Ersson has given up at least three goals in six straight starts, and if he's not between the pipes for Philly's regular-season finale Thursday against the Sabres, he'll close the books on the 2024-25 campaign with a 22-17-5 record, 3.14 GAA and .883 save percentage.

Flyers' Samuel Ersson: First off at morning skate
Ersson is slated to draw the home start Tuesday versus the Blue Jackets, Adam Kimelman of NHL.com reports.
Ersson has conceded at least three goals in four consecutive outings, but he's gone 3-1-0 in that span. The Swedish netminder has a 22-16-5 record, 2.98 GAA and .888 save percentage over 46 appearances in 2024-25. The Flyers will be looking to play the role of spoiler Tuesday -- Columbus needs to win its last two games in order to have a chance to make the playoffs.

Flyers' Samuel Ersson: Third win in last four starts
Ersson made 37 saves in a 4-3 shootout win over the Islanders on Saturday.
He was also perfect through five rounds of the shootout. Ersson has impressed in stretches this season, which hit a high point in late January when he was selected to represent Sweden at the 4 Nations Face-Off and in February when he beat the United States. Ersson has won three of his last four starts with the Flyers (3-1-0), but playing behind a porous team makes him a risk every time he hits the ice. Still, he could be an interesting option after Philadelphia rounds the corner.

Ersson will guard the home cage versus the Islanders on Saturday, per Bill Meltzer of NHL.com.
Ersson is 2-2-0 in his last four games, allowing 18 goals on 107 shots (.832 save percentage). He has a 21-16-5 record with a pair of shutouts, a 3.15 GAA and an .881 save percentage in 45 outings this season. The Islanders are generating 2.77 goals per game this season, sitting 25th in the NHL.
