  • Flyers' Tyson Foerster: Should be available Opening Night

Foerster (elbow) is expected to be ready for Opening Night against the Islanders on Oct. 9, Sam Carchidi of Philly Hockey Now reports Thursday. Foerster suffered his elbow injury at the IIHF World Championship, which raised doubts regarding his availability to start the season with the Flyers. Once given the all-clear, the winger could push for a top-six role, especially given the lack of experienced depth at forward. Barring a significant drop off in his production, Foerster should be capable of reaching both the 25-goal and 40-point thresholds this year, marks he hit in 2024-25.

  • Flyers' Tyson Foerster: Uncertain for start of season

Foerster sustained an injury and a subsequent infection in his elbow while representing Team Canada at the IIHF World Championship, and his status for training camp is up in the air, Jordan Hall of NBC Sports Philadelphia reports Tuesday. Foerster's unclear status could leave the Flyers without one of their top players early in the season. The winger is currently in a wait-and-see mode regarding the infection, which is where the doubt about his status comes from. The Flyers' forward depth is still a bit lackluster, but Trevor Zegras or Owen Tippett could be candidates for larger roles if Foerster begins 2025-26 on the shelf.

  • Flyers' Tyson Foerster: Signs two-year extension

Foerster signed a two-year, $7.5 million contract with the Flyers on Thursday, Russell Morgan of Hockey Royalty reports. Foerster tallied 25 goals in 81 regular-season games this season. The 23-year-old chipped in with 18 assists, 75 hits, 54 blocked shots and 49 PIM. He was on fire at the end of the season, scoring nine times while adding a pair of assists in his last nine contests.

  • Flyers' Tyson Foerster: Nets hat trick in Wednesday's win

Foerster scored three goals, including one on the game-winner, in Wednesday's 8-5 victory over the Rangers. The 23-year-old winger got Philadelphia on the board midway through the second period, then struck twice late in the third as the Flyers found the back of the net five times in the final 12 minutes. Foerster has been one of the ringleaders of the team's late-season offensive eruption, and over the last five games, he's produced six goals and seven points as the Flyers have averaged 5.0 goals per contest.

  • Flyers' Tyson Foerster: Pair of points Saturday

Foerster scored a goal on two shots, dished an assist and added two PIM in Saturday's 7-4 win over the Sabres. Foerster earned his first multi-point effort in over a month -- his last was a three-point game Feb. 25 versus the Penguins. The 23-year-old winger has two goals and three assists over his last five contests as he looks to finish the year strong. Overall, he's produced a career-high 35 points (18 goals, 17 assists) with 126 shots on net, 69 hits, 51 blocked shots, 45 PIM and a minus-10 rating over 74 outings.

  • Flyers' Tyson Foerster: Receiving more ice time

Foerster recorded an assist, two hits and a plus-1 rating in a team-high 23:25 of ice time in Sunday's 3-1 loss to New Jersey. Foerster has seen his ice time increase in each of the last three games, and Sunday marked the second-most he has received in 2024-25, so he appears to be earning more trust from head coach John Tortorella. Foerster could be a name worth keeping an eye on for fantasy managers if he continues to log heavy minutes on the top line, though the Flyers' struggles as a team could challenge that notion. The right-shot winger has contributed 16 goals and 14 assists over 64 appearances this season.

  • Flyers' Tyson Foerster: Goals in back-to-back games

Foerster scored a power-play goal Thursday in a 4-3 loss to Washington. The goal snapped a Philly 0-for-10 streak with the man advantage over five games. Foerster has a goal in each of his last two games and 15 on the season. He's on pace to top his 20-goal career mark, which he set last season. But Foerster's 17.9 shooting percentage is well above his 12.0 percent from his rookie season. We don't know which rate is closer to his norm, but his current sub-40 point pace should keep him on the bench in all but the deepest of leagues.

  • Flyers' Tyson Foerster: Nets goal Friday

Foerster scored a goal in Friday's 3-1 loss to the Islanders. Foerster found the back of the net with his lone shot on goal in the latter stages of the first period, but his 13th goal of the campaign wasn't enough to give Philadelphia the win. This was the first time he scored a goal since Jan. 5.

  • Flyers' Tyson Foerster: Collects two assists Saturday

Foerster had two assists and two blocked shots in Saturday's 3-1 triumph over New Jersey. Foerster had a hand in third-period goals by Bobby Brink and Travis Konecny. The 23-year-old Foerster had one helper in six games heading into Saturday's action. He has 12 goals and 22 points through 46 appearances this season.

  • Flyers' Tyson Foerster: Opens scoring in overtime loss

Foerster scored a goal on two shots and three hits in Sunday's 3-2 overtime loss to the Maple Leafs. Foerster is thriving in a middle-six role, racking up six goals and three assists over his last nine outings. He opened the scoring in the first period Sunday, but the Maple Leafs had a 2-1 lead by the intermission. Foerster is up to 12 goals, 19 points, 62 shots, 27 hits, 33 PIM and a minus-2 rating over 39 appearances this season. He's a bit of an agitator, but he hasn't fully tapped into his physical play this year, limiting his fantasy upside to deeper formats for now.

  • Flyers' Tyson Foerster: Stays hot in win

Foerster scored a goal on two shots, added an assist and went plus-2 in Saturday's 5-4 overtime win over the Blue Jackets. Foerster set up Noah Cates for a game-tying goal midway through the third period, then scored another equalizer himself with 1:44 left to send the contest to overtime. With six points over his last three games, Foerster is quite hot all of a sudden, which has led to his ice time going on the rise. He's still listed on the third line but has seen more top-six minutes recently. The winger is at nine goals, 16 points, 53 shots on net, 20 hits, 31 PIM and a minus-5 rating through 33 outings overall.

  • Flyers' Tyson Foerster: Career-best effort in loss

Foerster scored two goals and added an assist in Thursday's 7-3 loss to the Kings. It was the first multi-point performance of the season for Foerster, and the first three-point effort of the 22-year-old's career. The 23rd overall pick in the 2020 Draft has found a groove over the last month, picking up six goals and 11 points over the last 16 games after managing only three points (two goals and an assist) in his first 16 appearances of 2024-25.

  • Flyers' Tyson Foerster: Strikes on power play in loss

Foerster scored a power-play goal in Thursday's 7-5 loss to the Panthers. Foerster has two goals and an assist during his three-game point streak. The winger has mostly maintained his power-play time this season, typically playing on the second unit. Three of his six goals have come on the power play, and he's at nine points, 36 shots on net, 27 PIM and a minus-3 rating over 25 appearances.

  • Flyers' Tyson Foerster: Grabs helper in loss

Foerster logged an assist, two hits and two PIM in Wednesday's 6-3 loss to the Flyers. Foerster went from being a healthy scratch Tuesday to a top-line role at even strength Wednesday, though he saw just 13:51 of ice time. The 22-year-old has gotten off to a slow start with two points through six contests this season. He's added 10 shots on net, 19 PIM, five hits and a minus-3 rating, and he'll likely bounce around the lineup some more as head coach John Tortorella struggles to find line combinations that lead to positive results for the 1-5-1 Flyers.

  • Flyers' Tyson Foerster: Strikes for power-play goal

Foerster scored a power-play goal on four shots in Friday's 3-2 shootout win over the Canucks. Foerster had the Flyers' first goal of the season, tallying at 17:24 of the first period to tie the game at 1-1. The winger was decent as a rookie in 2023-24 with 20 goals, 13 assists, 167 shots on net and 101 hits over 77 appearances. He's beginning this season in a top-six role, and while head coach John Tortorella often shuffles his lines, Foerster should still be a key player throughout the campaign.

  • Flyers' Tyson Foerster: Two points including GWG

Foerster scored the game-winning goal and added a power-play assist in Saturday's 3-2 win over the Bruins. After helping to set up Travis Konecny for the afternoon's first goal late in the second period, Foerster snapped a shot past Linus Ullmark with only 89 seconds left in the third. The 22-year-old Foerster had managed only one point, a goal, over the prior eight games. He has 18 goals and 31 points through 66 games in his first full NHL season.

  • Flyers' Tyson Foerster: Cleared for contact

Foerster (lower body) is practicing in a regular jersey Friday, Bill Meltzer of NHL.com reports. Foerster has missed the last four games after he was injured blocking a shot versus Seattle on Feb. 10. The 22-year-old has 10 goals and 21 points in 52 games this season. He will likely play on the third line alongside Ryan Poehling and Noah Cates upon his return to the lineup. The Flyers sent Olle Lycksell to the minors Friday, suggesting Foerster will likely be able to return Saturday versus the Rangers.

  • Flyers' Tyson Foerster: Still out Thursday

Foerster (lower body) is not in the lineup for Saturday's Stadium Series game versus the Devils, Jordan Hall of NBC Sports Philadelphia reports. Foerster will miss his third straight game with the injury. He was expected to miss only a few more days as of last Wednesday, so it's possible he will still be available for the Flyers' road game in Chicago on Wednesday. Philadelphia will go with seven defensemen and 11 forwards in Saturday's contest.

  • Flyers' Tyson Foerster: Questionable for Monday

Foerster (lower body) may not be available to play Monday versus the Coyotes after blocking a shot in Saturday's 3-2 win over Seattle, according to Adam Kimelman of NHL.com. Head coach John Tortorella isn't sure if Foerster will be ready to play in Monday's contest. The 22-year-old forward did not take part in the morning skate, which isn't an encouraging sign. Foerster, who has 10 goals and 21 points in 52 games this season, might be replaced by Olle Lycksell in the lineup versus Arizona.

  • Flyers' Tyson Foerster: Opens scoring in win

Foerster scored a goal on two shots in Thursday's 4-1 victory over Winnipeg. Foerster opened the scoring 3:37 into the first period, directing a feed from Ryan Poehling past Laurent Brossoit on the rush to give the Flyers an early 1-0 lead. The 22-year-old Foerster is up to 10 goals in his first full NHL season, with five coming in his last 11 games. He's up to 21 points overall through 51 games in a bottom-six role this season.
