Both of Aho's helpers came in the final frame, as he set up goals by K'Andre Miller and Seth Jarvis, the latter of which ended up being the game-winner. The 28-year-old Aho could be in line for his best season yet, as he's being flanked by free-agent addition Nikolaj Ehlers, along with Seth Jarvis, on the top line. Aho also managed 4:51 of ice time with the man advantage Thursday, so he should have plenty of opportunities to rack up points in 2025-26.

Hurricanes' Sebastian Aho: Scores twice in season-ending loss
Aho scored two goals on three shots and added two hits in Wednesday's 5-3 loss to the Panthers in Game 5.
Aho cashed in twice off of turnovers in the first period, giving the Hurricanes some belief they could keep their season going. The Panthers then squashed that hope over the final 40 minutes. Aho put up seven goals, 15 points, 41 shots on net, 45 hits and a plus-3 rating over 15 playoff outings. He's signed through 2031-32, so look for the 27-year-old to once again center the Hurricanes' top line next season.

Aho hasn't gotten on the scoresheet in consecutive contests since his four-game streak to end the first round. The 27-year-old is up to four goals, eight assists, seven power-play points, 31 shots on net, 42 hits, 10 blocked shots and a plus-1 rating over 13 playoff contests. The Hurricanes are facing a 3-0 series deficit heading into Monday's Game 4, and if Aho doesn't pick up the pace on offense, they'll see their playoff run come to an end.
