Chychrun scored a goal in Saturday's 5-3 loss to the Lightning. Chychrun found the back of the net with a snap shot at 5:26 of the second period. However, that marker merely reduced the Capitals' deficit to two goals. Chychrun has six goals this season, and he's riding his most prolific stretch of the campaign. Saturday's goal pushed his point streak to seven games, tallying three goals and five assists over that span.

  • Capitals' Jakob Chychrun: Pots goal in big win

Chychrun scored a goal on five shots, added two PIM and went plus-3 in Thursday's 8-4 win over the Canadiens. Chychrun is on a six-game point streak, earning two goals and five assists in that span. The Capitals' recent burst of 15 goals over their last two games has certainly helped everyone get involved on offense. Chychrun is up to five goals, 17 points, 69 shots on net, 21 hits, 23 blocked shots, 19 PIM and a plus-14 rating over 21 appearances. He's got appeal for category coverage while tracking toward a career-best year on offense.

  • Capitals' Jakob Chychrun: Two more helpers Wednesday

Chychrun pocketed two assists with three blocked shots, one hit and a plus-2 rating in Wednesday's 7-4 win over the Oilers. The 27-year-old blueliner extended his point streak to five games with his first multi-point performance since Nov. 5. Chychrun has taken his game to another level in his second season with Washington, and through 20 contests he's delivered four goals and 16 points, putting him on pace to blow past the career-best 47 points he produced in 2024-25.

  • Capitals' Jakob Chychrun: Extends point streak to four

Chychrun had an assist and put three shots on goal in Monday's 2-1 win over the Kings. Chychrun played a hand in Alex Ovechkin's go-ahead goal in the second period. Overall, the 27-year-old Chychrun has 10 assists, 14 points, 64 shots on goal, 20 hits and 19 blocks through 19 games this season. He now has a point in each of his last four games and seven points in as many outings. The blueliner has quietly been shooting the puck at a career-best volume, as he trails only Zach Werenski in shots on goal among NHL defensemen. If this trend continues, Chychrun has a chance at reaching the 20-goal mark for the second regular season in a row, even if he is currently somewhat shy of that goal-scoring pace due to his 6.3 shooting percentage, which is down from 11.2 during the 2024-25 regular season.

Chychrun scored a power-play goal on five shots on net while adding four PIM, two hits, a blocked shot and a minus-1 rating in Tuesday's 4-1 win over the Hurricanes. The 27-year-old blueliner ended an eight-game goal drought by snapping a rebound past Frederik Andersen early in the third period, giving Chychrun his 100th career NHL goal. The blueliner had a hand in each of the Capitals' first three goals, including Alex Ovechkin's 900th career tally early in the second period. It was Chychrun's first multi-point performance since Oct. 11, but he's had a productive start to his second season in Washington with three goals and 10 points in 13 games.

  • Capitals' Jakob Chychrun: Finds twine Tuesday

Chychrun scored a power-play goal on four shots in Tuesday's 4-1 win over the Kraken. Chychrun has scored in back-to-back games and in three of his last four contests. The 27-year-old defenseman is off to a strong start in 2025-26, racking up six points, 19 shots on net, eight hits, six blocked shots, four PIM and a plus-7 rating through seven appearances. The Capitals' defense is fairly versatile, but Chychrun commands top-four minutes and power-play time, making him a reliable fantasy option.

  • Capitals' Jakob Chychrun: Notches another goal

Chychrun scored a goal on three shots on goal, delivered two hits and held a plus-1 rating during his 23:19 of ice time in Sunday's 4-3 loss to the Canucks. Chychrun found the back of the net for the second time in three games Sunday, bringing him to five points in six games this season. This total comes despite no production on the power play thus far, which is surely going to change given his pedigree of success with the man advantage in his career.

Chychrun scored the game-winning goal in overtime in a 3-2 victory over Tampa Bay on Tuesday. It's his first goal of the 2025-26. Chychrun has a goal and three assists (eight shots) in four games this season.

Chychrun dished out two assists, had a plus-3 rating, and served two PIM in Saturday's 4-2 win over the Islanders. Chychrun provided the primary helpers on the second and third goals of the game, scored by Aliaksei Protas and Ryan Leonard, respectively. The 27-year-old Chychrun is up to three assists through two contests this season. Coming off a career-best 47 points a year ago over 74 regular-season games, Chychrun should continue to be a strong source of offense on the Capitals' blue line.

Chychrun (rest) will play Thursday versus the Penguins, Bailey Johnson of The Washington Post reports. Chychrun will return after taking one game off for maintenance purposes. The 27-year-old will be one of five blueliners in the lineup and should feature on the power play as well.

  • Capitals' Jakob Chychrun: Out of lineup Tuesday

Chychrun is not in the lineup versus the Islanders on Tuesday, Bailey Johnson of The Washington Post reports. No reason was provided for Chychrun's absence, but it's safe to assume this is a rest situation for the 27-year-old defenseman, as he played 20:46 in Sunday's 4-1 loss to the Blue Jackets. Alexander Alexeyev and Dylan McIlrath will both be in the lineup while Chychrun and John Carlson sit this one out. It's unclear if Chychrun will be an option for Thursday's regular-season finale versus the Penguins.

  • Capitals' Jakob Chychrun: Ends goal drought with two tallies

Chychrun tallied two goals, fired four shots on net and had two hits in Sunday's 8-5 loss to the Sabres. Chychrun tallied the first two goals of the game for the Capitals. He scored the first goal of the game 10:06 into the first period before tallying his second just 32 seconds after the Sabres took a 2-1 lead. Overall, the 27-year-old blueliner has 20 goals, 46 points and 171 shots on net in 68 games this season. Chychrun's goals ended a nine-game drought without lighting the lamp. However, he remained active on offense during this stretch with four assists and 31 shots on net. His first season with the Capitals has been the best offensive campaign of his career and he is currently tied with teammate John Carlson for 15th-most points from a defenseman in the league this season. Chychrun should maintain strong value in all fantasy formats for the remainder of the season.

  • Capitals' Jakob Chychrun: Expected to play Tuesday

Chychrun (hand/wrist) is slated to play Tuesday versus Winnipeg, per Bailey Johnson of The Washington Post. Chychrun's availability was in question after he suffered a laceration to his hand/wrist area during Saturday's 6-3 victory over the Panthers. He has 18 goals, 43 points, 46 PIM, 47 hits and 79 blocks in 65 outings in 2024-25. This will be his first game since inking an eight-year, $72 million contract extension.

  • Capitals' Jakob Chychrun: Locked up for eight years

Chychrun (hand/wrist) inked an eight-year, $72 million contract extension with the Capitals on Tuesday. Chychrun's new deal will begin with the 2025-26 campaign and run through 2032-33. He has 18 goals, 43 points, 46 PIM, 47 hits and 79 blocks in 65 appearances with Washington this campaign. This is the 26-year-old's second straight campaign with at least 40 points and the third time he's hit that milestone in his career. Chychrun is getting a big raise compared to his current $4.6 million cap hit, but he should serve in a top-four capacity for the Capitals throughout the life of his new contract. In the short term, Chychrun is questionable for Tuesday's game against Winnipeg after sustaining a laceration to his hand/wrist area during Saturday's 6-3 win over Florida.
