  • Devils' Timo Meier: Nets power-play goal Saturday

Meier scored a power-play goal, fired three shots on net and dished out three hits in Saturday's 6-3 loss to Philadelphia.

Outside of his power-play goal to open the scoring, Meier fired the puck all night with three shots on target and four more that missed the mark. The 29-year-old winger has six goals, 15 points, 65 shots on target and 35 hits in 21 games this season. Meier snapped a three-game point drought Saturday. He's virtually a lock to receive top-six minutes for the rest of the season and should lead the team in shot attempts. It's best to exercise patience with Meier, as his 9.2 shooting percentage is likely to climb considering his career conversion rate is 10.8 percent.

  • Devils' Timo Meier: Strikes on power play

Meier scored a power-play goal on three shots in Monday's 3-2 win over the Blue Jackets.

Meier has goals in back-to-back games and found the scoresheet with the man advantage for the first time this year. The 29-year-old winger is up to three points, 10 shots on net, six hits and a plus-1 rating. He offers appeal as a top-six option who provides strong category coverage, and he should be able to get into the 50-60 point range at a minimum with a relatively healthy campaign.

  • Devils' Timo Meier: Two points in win

Meier had a goal and assist in a 5-3 win over Tampa Bay on Saturday.

Meier put the Devils up 1-0 in the first period when he jammed his own rebound past Andrei Vasilevskiy from close range after driving the net. Meier has compiled 121 points in 172 regular-season games since joining the Devils, including a 53-point performance in 2024-25. He is capable of more, but that's not likely in New Jersey. That 76-point season (2021-22) is probably an outlier, but playing beside Nico Hischier could deliver a 60-point season and a return to the 30-goal plateau.

Meier was held off the scoresheet in the first two road games of this series, but contributed three points over the last two home contests. Meier will need to be at his best to help his team avoid elimination in Game 5, which will be Tuesday in Raleigh. The Hurricanes may not have starting goaltender Frederik Andersen (undisclosed) for that game, as Andersen exited in the second period Sunday after being plowed into by Meier.

Meier posted an assist, three shots on goal and three hits in Friday's 3-2 double-overtime win over the Hurricanes in Game 3.

Meier had been held off the scoresheet in the first two games of the series. While the 28-year-old winger has struggled to score, he has done well with physicality, racking up 11 hits and six PIM as well as 10 shots on net and a minus-2 rating over three playoff outings. He's playing on the top line for now and should continue to do so as long as he can chip in offense occasionally.
