McDavid has been bothered by an ankle injury sustained in Game 2, but it's no surprise he'll gut it out to try to help the Oilers stave off elimination. Expect the superstar center to take on his usual heavy minutes in a top-line role and on the first power-play unit. He has earned a goal and three assists over four contests in this first-round series.

McDavid didn't take part in Tuesday's morning skate and has now been classified as day-to-day by head coach Kris Kloblauch. While it seems unlikely the world-class center would miss a playoff game unless absolutely necessary, fantasy managers will now need to monitor his status in the lead-up to Game 5. If McDavid were to be unavailable, Leon Draisaitl figures to anchor the top line for the Oilers.

McDavid got skunked on home ice in the first two games of the series. Even though that changed in Anaheim on Friday, the Ducks still got the better of the Oilers for a second straight game. McDavid is coming off a superb regular season of 48 goals, 90 assists, 306 shots on net and a plus-17 rating over 82 appearances. He's no stranger to the postseason, having accumulated 152 points over 99 contests. That includes leading the Stanley Cup Playoffs in points in three of the last four years. If he wants to have a chance at that feat again in 2026, he'll need to pick up the pace to help the Oilers get past the Ducks.

McDavid saw a six-game point streak snapped in Saturday's 5-1 loss to the Golden Knights. He bounced back in his contest, but his performance wasn't enough for the Oilers to hold off the Mammoth in what could be a first-round matchup in a couple of weeks. McDavid is at 44 goals, 128 points, 289 shots on net, a plus-14 rating, 38 PIM, 39 hits and 29 blocked shots through 78 appearances this season, well within striking range of earning 130-plus points for the third time in four years. He's also one power-play point away from 50, which is a mark he's reached just once previously in his career.
