Top Nikolaj Ehlers News

  • Hurricanes' Nikolaj Ehlers: Two points against Caps

Ehlers produced a goal and an assist in Thursday's 3-2 shootout win over Washington.

The 29-year-old winger got Carolina on the board after the midway point of the second period before helping to set up Logan Stankoven for a tally late in the third that forced OT. Ehlers had a quiet first couple of weeks for his new club, but since Oct. 20, he hasn't gone more than two games in a row without getting onto the scoresheet, racking up seven goals and 21 points in 25 contests over that stretch.

  • Hurricanes' Nikolaj Ehlers: Pops for three points in win

Ehlers scored a power-play goal and added two assists in Saturday's 6-3 win over the Predators.

After he potted his sixth goal of the season in the first period, Ehlers set up Jackson Blake for tallies in the second and third. It was Ehlers' first multi-point performance since Nov. 9, and he's been an incredibly steady contributor in his first season with Carolina. He hasn't gone back-to-back contests without getting onto the scoresheet since Oct. 20, and over that 22-game stretch, he has delivered six goals and 19 points.

  • Hurricanes' Nikolaj Ehlers: Scores lone goal in win

Ehlers scored a goal on two shots in Sunday's 1-0 overtime win over the Flames.

Ehlers converted on a pass from Taylor Hall at 2:52 of overtime for the game's only goal. The tally snapped Ehlers' six-game goal drought, though he still had three assists in that span. After a tough October, the 29-year-old winger got on track in November and is now at a total of five goals, 16 points, 61 shots on net and a plus-4 rating over 25 appearances.

  • Hurricanes' Nikolaj Ehlers: Stays hot with goal

Ehlers scored a goal on two shots in Saturday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Oilers.

Ehlers' point streak is up to seven games (four goals, four assists). The 29-year-old winger tied the game with his tally early in the second period. For the season, he has 12 points, 52 shots on net and a plus-6 rating, but he's done well to overcome his slow start and become the player the Hurricanes wanted when they signed him to a six-year contract in the offseason.

  • Hurricanes' Nikolaj Ehlers: Finds twine in loss

Ehlers scored a goal on four shots in Tuesday's 4-1 loss to the Capitals.

Ehlers extended his point streak to five games (three goals, three assists) with the second-period tally. The 29-year-old is in his best stretch of the season, though his ice time has yet to really bounce back since it dipped in late October. Overall, he's produced three goals, 10 points, 48 shots on net and a plus-4 rating over 16 appearances.

  • Hurricanes' Nikolaj Ehlers: Offers two helpers

Ehlers notched two assists and five shots on goal in Sunday's 5-4 win over the Maple Leafs.

Ehlers is on a four-game point streak (two goals, three assists) after logging his first multi-point effort of the season. His early struggles appear to have been just a matter of getting comfortable on a new team. The winger is up to nine points, 44 shots on net and a plus-3 rating through 15 appearances and should see steady top-six usage for the rest of the campaign.

  • Hurricanes' Nikolaj Ehlers: Goals in back-to-back games

Ehlers scored the game-winning goal Thursday in a 4-3 victory over the Wild.

It was Ehlers' second goal in as many games after going 11 games without a snipe to start his time with Canes. It came on an easy backdoor tap-in behind Filip Gustavsson after a Minnesota turnover early in the third frame. Ehlers went five games without a point to start the season, and he's slowly warming up. He has six points (two goals, four assists) in his last eight games (20 shots).

  • Hurricanes' Nikolaj Ehlers: Nets first goal of season

Ehlers scored a power-play goal on six shots in Tuesday's 3-0 win over the Rangers.

Ehlers' first-period tally opened the scoring. It was the winger's first goal of the campaign. He's been heating up after a slow start, with all five of his points coming in the last seven games, but the Hurricanes had him on the second line at even strength in Tuesday's contest due to a lineup shuffle. Ehlers has added 34 shots on net and a plus-1 rating over 12 appearances -- given that shot volume, it's only a matter of time before his luck turns around.

  • Hurricanes' Nikolaj Ehlers: Gets on scoresheet with assist

Ehlers notched an assist, two shots on goal and four PIM in Monday's 4-1 loss to the Golden Knights.

Ehlers found the scoresheet for the first time as a Hurricane when he helped out on a Sebastian Aho goal in the second period. This game was a matchup between Ehlers and Mitch Marner, the two biggest names who were on the move during the offseason. In addition to the assist, Ehlers has 20 shots on net and a plus-1 rating through six appearances with Carolina, so he's still getting looks. As long as he continues to play alongside Aho and Seth Jarvis, he should be able to get his game on track, though there may still be some growing pains for Ehlers as he adjusts to his new team.
