  • Kings' Anton Forsberg: Sharp in win over Bolts

Forsberg made 31 saves in a 2-1 win over the Lightning on Thursday. Forsberg is the man in the blue paint this week with Darcy Kuemper sidelined with an upper-body injury. He made 26 saves Wednesday night in a 3-2 loss to the Panthers. The Bolts put one power-play goal past him; it came on a rebound on a low-slot scramble. Forsberg is 5-4-3 with one shutout, 2.69 GAA and .901 save percentage in 2025-26. The win snapped the Kings' four-game losing streak (0-2-2).

  • Kings' Anton Forsberg: Tending twine Thursday

Forsberg will start Thursday's road game versus the Lightning. Forsberg will start both halves of a back-to-back after allowed three goals on 28 shots versus the Panthers on Wednesday. The 33-year-old will get the nod on consecutive days, as the Kings appear reluctant to allow Pheonix Copley to see the net in this tough matchup. After Thursday, the Kings will be off until Monday's home game versus the Blue Jackets, which is the start of another back-to-back set.

  • Kings' Anton Forsberg: Takes third straight loss

Forsberg made 25 saves in Wednesday's 3-2 loss to the Panthers. The Kings gave the veteran netminder a 1-0 lead in the first period on a Joel Armia power-play tally, but Forsberg couldn't make it hold up. It was his first start since Darcy Kuemper (upper body) landed on IR, but his third straight losing decision, as Forsberg has gone 0-2-1 in his last three outings while allowing nine goals on 81 shots. The Kings are likely to lean heavily on Forsberg while Kuemper is on the shelf, but if he struggles, Pheonix Copley has plenty of NHL experience as the No. 2 goalie.

  • Kings' Anton Forsberg: First goalie off Wednesday

Forsberg was the first goalie off during Wednesday's morning skate, Jared Shafran of LAKingsInsider.com reports, indicating that he'll defend the road crease against Florida. Forsberg is in line to serve as the Kings' top netminder while Darcy Kuemper (upper body) is on injured reserve. Forsberg has made 10 appearances this year, going 4-3-3 with a 2.82 GAA and an .893 save percentage. He drew a home start against the Panthers on Nov. 6 and allowed five goals on 24 shots (.792 save percentage) in a 5-2 loss.

  • Kings' Anton Forsberg: Beaten three times Monday

Forsberg stopped 17 of 20 shots in Monday's 4-1 loss to the Stars. The fourth goal was an empty-netter with 32 seconds left in the third period. Forsberg had to enter the game in the second period after Darcy Kuemper exited with an upper-body injury. If Kuemper is forced to miss additional time, Forsberg could see more playing time between the pipes. This wasn't his finest outing, though to be fair, he was facing one of the best teams in the Western Conference. Forsberg owns a 4-3-3 record with a 2.82 GAA and an .893 save percentage in 10 appearances this season.

  • Kings' Anton Forsberg: Allows trio of power-play tallies

Forsberg stopped 30 of 33 shots in Wednesday's 3-2 overtime loss to the Kraken. A goalie needs to be his team's best penalty killer, and Forsberg wasn't able to live up to that standard in Wednesday's defeat. All three of the Kraken's goals came on their power plays, including one that was a result of a tripping penalty by Forsberg himself that led to the tying tally. He's down to 4-2-3 on the year with a 2.72 GAA and an .896 save percentage over nine appearances. Forsberg will continue to handle backup duties behind Darcy Kuemper. The Kings' next back-to-back is a week away, so Forsberg shouldn't have to wait long for his next start.

  • Kings' Anton Forsberg: First goalie off Wednesday

Forsberg was the first goalie off during Wednesday's morning skate, Zach Dooley of the Kings' official site reports, indicating that he'll draw the road start against Seattle. Forsberg has seen limited action to begin the year, and he's started in just one of the Kings' last eight games. However, he's been effective when called upon, going 2-0-1 with a 1.29 GAA and .934 save percentage over his past three starts. The 33-year-old will have a favorable matchup against a Kraken team that is tied for the fewest goals per game (2.48) in the league this season.

Forsberg stopped 19 of 20 shots in Saturday's 2-1 overtime win over the Canucks. Forsberg has alternated good and bad performances lately. He's 3-1-1 over his last five games, with one goal or less allowed in all three of the wins. For the season, the 33-year-old netminder is at a 4-2-2 record with a 2.69 GAA and an .894 save percentage in eight appearances. Look for Darcy Kuemper to be back between the pipes Tuesday against his former team, the Capitals.

  • Kings' Anton Forsberg: Tending twine against Canucks

Forsberg will start at home versus the Canucks on Saturday, Zach Dooley of the Kings' official site reports. Forsberg has won two of his last four starts, allowing nine goals on 88 shots over that span. The Canucks will be without Conor Garland (upper body), which weakens a mediocre offense. However, Vancouver has scored 22 goals over the last six games despite going 2-4-0 in that span.

  • Kings' Anton Forsberg: Loses in shootout

Forsberg allowed three goals on 24 shots in Thursday's 4-3 shootout loss to the Sharks. Forsberg has gone 1-1-1 with eight goals allowed on 65 shots over his three outings in November. He never had a chance to protect a lead Thursday, as the Kings were able to snag a standings point by overcoming a trio of one-goal deficits. Forsberg is now at a 3-2-2 record with a 2.94 GAA and an .888 save percentage through seven outings this season. He'll be back in the backup role for Friday's home game versus the Bruins, which Darcy Kuemper will start.

  • Kings' Anton Forsberg: Poised to start Thursday

Forsberg is expected to be between the pipes on the road against San Jose on Thursday, John Hoven of SiriusXM NHL Network Radio reports. Forsberg will be making his seventh appearance in the crease, having gone 3-2-1 with a 2.96 GAA and one shutout in his last six outings. With the Kings heading into a back-to-back, the team will let Darcy Kuemper skip the trip to San Jose, which means Pheonix Copley will serve as the No. 2 option versus the Sharks following his call-up from AHL Ontario on Wednesday.

  • Kings' Anton Forsberg: Posts shutout against former team

Forsberg stopped all 17 shots he faced in Saturday's 1-0 win over the Senators. Forsberg blanked his former team by making all of his saves at even strength en route to his first shutout of the season. Overall, the 32-year-old twine protector has a 3-2-1 record with a 2.96 GAA and an .890 save percentage across six starts this season. While he's allowed three goals or more in four of his six appearances this year, Saturday's shutout could give him a few extra opportunities moving forward. For now, Forsberg's best used as a spot fantasy starter in favorable matchups.

  • Kings' Anton Forsberg: Tending twine Saturday

Forsberg will defend the visiting goal in Ottawa on Saturday, Zach Dooley of the Kings' official site reports. Forsberg will return to Ottawa, where he spent five seasons before heading to the Kings in the offseason. The 32-year-old is 2-2-1 with a 3.54 GAA and an .878 save percentage. The Senators are fifth in NHL scoring, averaging 3.44 goals per outing.

  • Kings' Anton Forsberg: Gives up five goals in loss

Forsberg stopped 19 of 24 shots in Thursday's 5-2 loss to the Panthers. Forsberg has allowed five goals in two of his five outings so far. The 32-year-old was shaky from the start but escaped the first period with the game tied at 2-2 before the Panthers locked things down in the final 40 minutes. Forsberg is now 2-2-1 on the year with a 3.54 GAA and an .878 save percentage. The Kings have struggled on the whole, and they're not getting a lot of help from the backup netminder to provide steady play. Expect Darcy Kuemper between the pipes as the Kings kick off a road trip in Pittsburgh on Sunday.

  • Kings' Anton Forsberg: Tending twine Thursday

Forsberg will start Thursday's home game against the Panthers, John Hoven of SiriusXM NHL Network Radio reports. Forsberg has started in just one of the Kings' last eight games, but he'll get the start against a Florida squad that has struggled early in the season, scoring just 2.54 goals per game, which is the fourth-worst mark in the league. Over four appearances this year, Forsberg has gone 2-1-1 with a 3.18 GAA and .894 save percentage.

  • Kings' Anton Forsberg: Wins in Chicago

Forsberg stopped 22 of 23 shots in Sunday's 3-1 win over the Blackhawks. Forsberg had his best outing of the season while playing in the second half of a back-to-back set. Connor Bedard had the lone goal against him at 7:04 of the first period, but Forsberg and the Kings' defense combined to keep things locked down from there. Through four outings, he is 2-1-1 with 13 goals allowed on 123 shots. He's had some bumpy moments to start the season, but with Darcy Kuemper healthy again, Forsberg should be able to settle into the backup role and produce numbers worthy of being a streaming option in fantasy. The Kings' next game is Tuesday in San Jose.

Forsberg will patrol the road blue paint Sunday versus the Blackhawks, according to Zach Dooley of the Kings' official site. Forsberg will make his fourth start of the season Sunday, as he's posted a 1-1-1 record, 3.89 GAA and .880 save percentage through his first three appearances. The 32-year-old Forsberg is 1-1-1 with one shutout, a 3.32 GAA and an .841 save percentage over three career appearances against Chicago.

  • Kings' Anton Forsberg: Struggles early, loses in overtime

Forsberg stopped 36 of 40 shots in Saturday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Hurricanes. Forsberg dropped to 1-1-1 on the year. The 32-year-old was tagged for two goals by Jordan Staal in the first four minutes, but the Kings were able to claw back, only for Seth Jarvis to seal the Hurricanes' win in overtime. With 12 goals allowed on 100 shots over three games, Forsberg's performance has been poor behind a shakier-than-usual defense. The Swede will handle No. 1 duties between the pipes until Darcy Kuemper (lower body) returns. Kuemper's status for a five-game road trip that begins in St. Louis on Tuesday has yet to be announced, so Forsberg could be in for a busy week as the Sharks play five games in a span of eight days.

  • Kings' Anton Forsberg: Receiving starting nod

Forsberg will protect the home goal versus the Hurricanes on Saturday, Zach Dooley of the Kings' official site reports. Forsberg is off to a middling start this season, going 1-1-0 with eight goals allowed on 60 shots through two games. He'll be facing a Hurricanes team that has started this year 4-0-0, so this will be a tough assignment. Expect some low-event hockey between two teams known for maintaining strong defensive structures.

  • Kings' Anton Forsberg: Loses to Penguins

Forsberg stopped 22 of 25 shots in Thursday's 4-2 loss to the Penguins. The fourth goal was an empty-netter. Forsberg has a brief chance to fill in as the Kings' top goalie while Darcy Kuemper (lower body) is out. This wasn't a great showing for Forsberg, who is now 1-0-1 with eight goals allowed on 60 shots over his two starts this season. The 32-year-old could cede some starts to Pheonix Copley if his play doesn't improve. The Kings have a tough matchup ahead when they host the Hurricanes on Saturday.
