Mantha has three goals and two assists during his four-game point streak. He's gotten on the scoresheet in nine of 12 outings this season, collecting six goals, five helpers, 23 shots on net and a plus-7 rating. Mantha makes for a quality addition to fantasy rosters as long as this scoring output continues. He's a three-time 20-goal scorer and had no fewer than 44 points in each of those campaigns, but he could be in line for a career year if his early performance holds up.

Mantha scored 55 seconds into the game to give the Penguins a 2-0 lead early, though that advantage didn't make it to the first intermission. The 31-year-old winger has played well this year, including netting five goals over his last seven games. Through 10 outings overall, he's produced nine points, 20 shots on net, six hits, five blocked shots and a plus-6 rating. He's shooting 25 percent, which isn't sustainable, but he's finished a season below 10 percent just once in his career, so there's no questioning his scoring abilities.

Both points came in the first period as the Penguins grabbed an early 2-1 lead that didn't hold up. Mantha has a pair of multi-point performances in the last three games, and through nine contests on the season he's delivered four goals and eight points while skating on the second line with Evgeni Malkin and taking regular shifts on the second power-play unit.

Mantha scored an even-strength goal and added a power-play assist in Tuesday's 5-1 win over Vancouver.
The journeyman winger has had an impressive start to his first season in Pittsburgh. Mantha has three goals and six points in seven games, skating on the second line at even strength alongside Evgeni Malkin and working his way onto the second power-play unit. However, Mantha has never topped 25 goals or 48 points, reaching both marks back in 2018-19 for the Red Wings, and there's a reason the 31-year-old is on his fifth team in the last six seasons.

Mantha has scored twice over the last three games. The 31-year-old is up to four points, 13 shots on net, five hits, five blocked shots and a plus-2 rating through six contests overall. Playing in a second-line role is suiting the winger well, especially when he seems to have brought out the best in linemates Evgeni Malkin and Justin Brazeau, who helped out on his tally Saturday. That's a physically challenging line to play against, and it's working out for the 4-2-0 Penguins in their unexpectedly strong start to the season.

Mantha's goal came on a deflected shot that caromed off a defender's stick. The 31-year-old has started 2025-26 in a top-six role for the Penguins after signing a one-year contract in early July. The winger missed most of last season due to ACL surgery, but he hasn't started slow, earning three points, five shots on net, five hits and a plus-2 rating over four appearances. Mantha put up 44 points between the Capitals and the Golden Knights in 2023-24, and that could be within his range of outcomes if he maintains a prominent role for Pittsburgh.

Penguins' Anthony Mantha: Set for 2025-26 campaign
Mantha (knee) expects to be 100 percent for the start of training camp, Matt Vensel of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports Monday.
Mantha was limited to just 13 games for the Flames last season before his ACL injury ended his campaign early. Prior to getting hurt, the 30-year-old winger was putting up solid offensive numbers with four goals and three helpers. Barring any more offseason moves by the Penguins, Mantha should head into the 2025-26 campaign on the second line with Evgeni Malkin and is certainly capable of reaching the 20-goal threshold in that role -- though if Mantha does produce that well, general manager Kyle Dubas will almost certainly trade him at the deadline.

Penguins' Anthony Mantha: Secures one-year deal
Mantha (knee) agreed to terms on a one-year, $2.5 million contract with Pittsburgh on Wednesday, Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports reports.
Mantha's deal reportedly includes another $2 million in bonuses if he can stay healthy, something the winger has struggled to do, having managed to play in over 70 games just once over the last seven seasons. Those health struggles include 2024-25, when a knee injury limited the Quebec native to just 13 regular-season appearances for the Flames in which he garnered four goals and three helpers. If Mantha can stay healthy and get back to being a 20-goal scorer, he almost certainly will be flipped by the Pens at the deadline, similar to Anthony Beauvillier last year.

Flames' Anthony Mantha: Done for season
Mantha will undergo season-ending ACL surgery on his knee Thursday.
Mantha sustained the injury in a 3-2 overtime win over Montreal on Nov. 5. He will conclude the 2024-25 campaign with three goals, seven points, 15 shots on net, eight blocked shots and 16 hits in 13 appearances. Mantha is eligible to become an unrestricted free agent in the summer. The Flames could move him from regular injured reserve to long-term injured reserve if the team needs the cap space.

"You saw tonight, there was multiple times he was standing right in front of the net," Huska praised. "That's how he scored his goal. And for a guy that is his size and has his ability with the puck, that's what we need out of him."
Mantha registered a power-play goal and fired four shots on net, leaving the coach and player in agreement that the winger needs to shoot more. Those four shots Sunday were nearly a third of Mantha's season total of 14 SOG through 12 outings. The winger, who's tied for second on the team with four goals, rides a three-game point streak into Tuesday's road meeting with the Canadiens.

Mantha got the Flames on the board when he tipped home a Tyson Barrie shot at 4:33 of the second period.
